However, sometimes it’s healthier for both spouses to part ways or else they remain miserable being together for many more years. My advise to you is try work your marriage if possible. That’s best for the children too. If you have to divorce, please do it amicably for the sake of the children. Don’t deny the other parent the right to coparent with you. It’s very hard initially to emotionally to separate from your spouse even if the marriage was dead for a long time and no love is lost between the two of you. Believe me it will get better as time goes by. And yes I do have child. His father and I do our best to get along and coparent. So far, we are doing a good job. Good luck to you.

For no fault of mine my husband cheated on me and made me and my son homeless. He took away all our belongings. At that time my mother had passed away and my son was only 2.5 years old. I cried and cried. As Mufti Menk says that was not the end. I use to read Qur'an and ask help with Almighty. Allah knows when what has to be done. Now if I turn back I laugh at myself. Why did I cry for the person who was not meant for me. Alhamdulillah myself and my son are happy at present.

This is so uplifting. I've literally been suffering in silence for 2 years because I really wanted to hold on to my marriage and husband who's a blatant narcissist, I didnt want to be a failure and embarrass the family and just having the stigma attached to being a divorced woman. Now i've almost certainly come to a decision and I want to free myself. Before my marriage I was doing so well for myself, owned a car ,looking to be a home owner fast forward 1 year, bank account bleeding dry from husband's selfishness. Best thing you can do is resolve things directly with your husband. Don’t involve anyone including relatives, friends or imams or 95% of the time you’ll get divorced. If you resolve it respectfully with your husband directly 95% you’ll stay married.

I was in an abusive marriage in which I thought I'd never survive. It seemed like forever, but when I finally got out of it and looked back, it had lasted just 3 years! Took 2 years to recover from the trauma, again I felt like I'd never heal. Tried to make money by looking for jobs etc, but only got short term jobs. Started own biz but it wasn't happening. 2 years later, I'm making money enough to handle my self and kid. I'm here now with a very promising year ahead. It's true, patience works, but while you wait, do multiple tons of istighfar. WHENEVER or WHEREVER you can. No excuses.

I did everything an obedient wife would do but it didn't work out. However, Allah has a plan for me. Perhaps this was to pull me back to Him. For no fault of mine my husband cheated on me and made me and my son homeless. He took away all our belongings. At that time my mother had passed away and my son was only 2.5 years old. I cried and cried. As Mufti Menk says that was not the end. I use to read Qur'an and ask help with Almighty. Allah knows when what has to be done. Now if I turn back I laugh at myself. Why did I cry for the person who was not meant for me. Alhamdulillah myself and my son are happy at present.

Before my divorce i was living a life of sin, drinking, drugs, partying and gambling. Now i refrain from sin, practice islam more, i feel happier, healthier, earn alot more money, have many more friends, travel more and engaged to a beautiful muslim woman. Divorce was a remedy for my life - its always seen as a negative - it was the best lesson allah has given me. I went through a very bad divorce at 24, after just 6 months of a horrifying Marriage where he abused me financially, emotionally, mentally and mostly physically, he also stole all of my possession and money. But Im still so grateful he didn't take my life. I can be completely my Allahs now. May Allah protect us all from such animals in our societies

So interesting to know he was divorced! I was married very young & am divorced, I do not regret it because I learned many valuable lessons, especially for what I want in a spouse in the future. I am with a wonderful man now that has never been married before though he doesn't judge me for my past. I am thankful everyday for him. Also I am learning about Islam in my own time, he is Muslim & not pushy about it. If i have questions he is happy to tell me what he knows. Life is all a big lesson for us!

This is so uplifting. I've literally been suffering in silence for 2 years because I really wanted to hold on to my marriage and husband who's a blatant narcissist, I didnt want to be a failure and embarrass the family and just having the stigma attached to being a divorced woman. Now i've almost certainly come to a decision and I want to free myself. Before my marriage I was doing so well for myself, owned a car ,looking to be a home owner fast forward 1 year, bank account bleeding dry from husband's selfishness. I was in an abusive marriage in which I thought I'd never survive. It seemed like forever, but when I finally got out of it and looked back, it had lasted just 3 years!
Took 2 years to recover from the trauma, again I felt like I'd never heal.
Tried to make money by looking for jobs etc, but only got short term jobs. Started own biz but it wasn't happening. 2 years later, I'm making money enough to handle my self and kid.
I'm here now with a very promising year ahead. It's true, patience works, but while you wait, do multiple tons of istighfar. WHENEVER or WHEREVER you can. No excuses.

How are you doing now? I am going through the same. I thought my life was ruined because I am 24. Allah knows I have been pious my whole life and married a man for his deen. I did everything an obedient wife would do but it didn't work out. However, Allah has a plan for me. Perhaps this was to pull me back to Him. If this was to either wash my sins away, or bring me closer to quran, I will be grateful for His reminder that no one in this world is mine except Him. I totally agree… although it must be a painful journey. True enough it’s another beginning to my life after a terrible ending of marriage. Alhamdullillah. I’m a happier person now and grateful to the fate. Allah is the best planner.
