    Hi Nick
I am waiting for an Iconic R110 with CCS ... its locked in the import centre!!! I'm trading in a ZE20... so a few cons isn't really a worry to me as there are so many pro's ... I can't see the charge flap button on fob is a major problem as I tend to use the button in the car most of the time anyway, as when you arrive at a charger just press the button before! you get out of the car... so no major hassle. The lack of preheat button is not ideal.. but as long as the App works well then not a biggy... keep up the good work Nick!! A range test would be interesting to see at some point..

I know the stereotypical American drives big gas guzzelling suv's or pickup trucks, but I own a 2008 Honda civic hybrid right now with 235000 miles. It is slightly more narrow than the standard civic with a nice drag coefficient but even me, being a somewhat wider individual like the roominess of it.
Since it is smaller and more narrow it will fit in places other cars won't, go through narrow openings and has a small turning radius. As long as you buy the low resistance rolling tires you can get in the mid fifties mileage wise average for a range of about 600 miles on a 12 gallon tank.

If the Zoe had adaptive cruise I would be much more interested in an upgrade. I suspect they will add it next year, the ZE40 got Android auto, more power and split rear seats a year into production. I think they wanted to get the ZE50 out this year to compete with PSA offerings but didn't have time to add that feature? Hopefully it will be available soon, standard cruise is pretty useless in UK traffic though I find the speed limiter plus my eyes quite useful.

Just seen a review from Ireland, they get CCS as standard on the GT line and full "leather" interior. Looks like Renault have kept the GT line name, but dropped the spec level when bringing it to the UK. At launch the Iconic looked a good option, now to get the same trim level I have to pay more for the GT line. The key fob change is a very odd decision, having created it before, why remove the feature from new models.

i am in a pickle which you may be able to help I really wanted a ev and for me leasing a car just works out better as I want to be able to hand a car back and get another though price are usually always more...sooo right now I have a old 2.2 2007 civic diesel, evs usually are more expensive to lease...see I could get a ds3 crossback prestige model for £147 a month (8k miles a year) which fits with how much I can afford as my hrs at work were cut and I have to factor in insurance cost (£1500 upfront)
so lease means no tax to pay anyway, no MOT being a new car and im getting a car on 24month contract and id not have to service it either with the miles id put on, id prob get away with 1 or 2 tyres in the 24month.
OR If I try spend a tiny bit more (though for me a bit is a lot) I can get a Renault Hatch 5Dr
    E R110 52kWh 107 i Iconic 5Dr Auto for £169 a month (£2036 upfront) from 1 company and then from another I can get a Renault Zoe Hatchback
    100KW i GT Line R135 50KWh 5dr Auto for £177.18 ( £1,793.62 upfront)
neither come with the rapid charging as when I look at those they are well over £200 a month and I think I could be ok without it really.
the only difference other than engine which tbh im not about about how fast it can go to 60mph the iconic one says it comes with Z.E. Interactive - 3 Year Subscription
and Z.E. Connect - 3yr Contract the GT one doe not have these listed and the GT comes with the bigger screen but I think the 7inch could be ok for me
no idea what to do haha, my budget is super tight and insurance for a EV for me is more than a petrol, even with the breakdown not added as you get that with a lease car.
Lets say I had just enough to get either of those zoe models do you think the iconic model is ok

The fob pre-heating and open/stop-charge issue is a big usability problem. Renault defaulted to a petrol/diesel fob to cut costs. Due to delays in production and new model gremlins expected I opted to get a Megane GT Line (diesel-blue) while keeping my existing Zoe. Unlike some, I like the battery lease which has been useful since some service items were covered by RCI. Bit confused with people moaning about the charge flap. Wouldn't you usually press the open button before getting out of the car after parking? It would only be an issue if you've left the car unplugged and then wanting to plug it in.

I don’t believe the 250 miles claim Nick, maybe do a video at some point to test the claim. I’d say 200 at best normal and maybe 120-140 in winter, still not bad tbh. Also, do you know if android auto/CarPlay work on the drivers HUD too or just in the centre infotainment screen.

Why on earth do manufacturers feel the need to put any form of "Lane keeping" rubbish on these cars, guess what folks there's supposed to be a human sat in front of the steering wheel (you know the big round thing you're suppose to have your hands on) paying attention to doing the thing you are suppose to be doing i.e. driving the car.
IMHO theses "features" just make drivers pay even less attention to the road, its bad enough out there now with out all this rubbish fitted to vehicles, just more junk to go wrong :-(

Zoe gets better now only 9 years behind Tesla.
Buying an electric car is a big move & expense why would I buy this over a model 3 that has so many more features, infrastructure & advanced standard autopilot. The top of the range Zoe with no autopilot is not so far from the price of a Model 3. When you are sitting in your Zoe looking at a guy in his Model 3 who will have the biggest smile? When the model Y arrives it's a game-changer again.

Nicolas Raimo I’m not really talking about most people it’s a comparison people should understand what you get for the extra cost so one can understand the cost of the Zoe. I mean just the autopilot & infrastructure is worth more than 10 grand.

Maybe to you Frank £10,000 may be small change but not to the majority of the new EV owners that will be coming on board. It's the same with any make of car. If you like and can afford a DB7 then buy one if your budget only lets you consider a second hand Mondeo then that's where you are.

    • @watcher24601

£26k Zoe or £40k Tesla, comparison is irrelevant. Zoe is still 10 years ahead of Tesla (or any American car) for handling and I'm guessing Tesla build quality is starting to catch up with Europe now. A few extra gizmos only accessible hrougha touch screen is not worth the extra money.

@@jameschapman4824 I agree if it's a question of a cash layout might be worth looking at leasing. I was comparing both cars to value for money not who could afford them. If I had to choose between a DB7 or a Mondeo it would be neither, then I would prefer the Zoe 52.
