    Also, good on you guys for posting two ‘opposing’ reviews on the same channel. It’s really, really rare in this hobby to get varying opinions on balance from the same outlet. Please continue doing what you’re doing, the hobby needs more of it.

    Mine arrived today. I must say after owning every audiophile headphone of Sennheiser. The most Wow effect was long ago with HD650 and HD600 and some years later with the original HD800. (then i had hd700, hd800S, Ie800, Ie800S, not much wow effect.) Here comes the Ie600, i never thought i will have the same wow effect again like 10+years ago, and yet here it is. This is a marvelous neutral sound, it feels so lifelike, so extended in both end still neutral mids with all of the details and good stereo image, and dymanic ,clean, fast sound , i never had this with any iem which I had ( Ca Andromeda 2020, CA Atlas, AKG n5005, ie800/S , Final Audio A8000, Dunu Zen, Sony Xba, N3, and a lot chifi iems) . I must say this Ie600 is one of the best iems i listened Money no object.

I, personally, have never seen a good comparison reviews of the compact and comfortable universal monitors in the $1K - $1.5K price range, like the Sennheiser IE600, the IE900 and Sure SE846 or the Sure SE846 Gen 2. These IEMs itself look very comfortable to me and aesthetically pleasing despite their strange and questionable quality cables.

Notably better than my 560S and DT 770 Pro and a slew of other gaming sets I've tried. Now what I am realizing is the way I enjoy music might be completely different than I imagined. I prefer the technicalities of the IE600 over the timeless, but the timeless is pretty darn good for the price yeah, and planar - so it's kinda different in that sense. IE600 is much more punchy. I'd put the SA6 on a similar level for technicalities, but also for different things. They each are good at different things, but for personal preferences... tonality > technical. So like, tonality and separation/control = SA6, for timbre and contrast = IE600. For instance, on the LCD2 it was the opposite of warm. It was bass light diffuse field level bass. However this was more than enough to satisfy most people. Now imagine that same curve on any shallow insertion IEM? it’d sound like shit.

    I've never noticed any t's, s's sound when using IE600. I always use my favorite ear tip which is flat and not deep. It closes my ear hole completely and I use gryphone or zencan signiture or bacoon amp and I never heard any tt, ss, chch sound.

    This is the exactly same experience I had with the IE300 and the very same reasons why I sadly decided to return them. Loved the dinamics, but the sibilance was almost painful in some tracks. Alas, not for me.

    • @TheHEADPHONEShow

  • @RazvanMGH

    And that's why folks, the graphs don't tell the complete story. Ie600 are by no means bassy. They can be, if the track requires it but they are balanced.

    Ie600s are treble cannons for sure, bought these, arrived today returning it today. I want the notes to reverberate with weight, these don’t do it. Bass should slam, these don’t. Treble should be there but not take Center stage, stabbing treble, these have. Unbelievable how these sell for 700€. I’ve got the ifi zen desk, doesn’t help. Is there any iem that sound great just plugging into iPhone via the iPhone dongle. It looks super fussy to have a dac dongle and lug it all over town and sit at office with. I just want a sleeper iem that plugs in any regular headphone jack and screams quality. So I can disappear into music, my own world, without anyone at office knowing you know?

      Fiio FH5? I have the FH5 and they are quite warm, superb bass, and the highs are not overly emphasized. The FH5 is very comfortable as well. The FH5 sounds quite good with the IPhone dongle as well.

    I have a problem with this review. Sibilance is a distortion, it is not user specific. If you hear it and someone else does not, one of you is wrong. I suspect it is just hot treble you are describing.

    • @ResolveReviews
      @ResolveReviews Před 2 lety +3

      Strictly speaking, an emphasis to the sibilant tones has nothing to do with distortion, but rather everything to do with frequency response. That can be elevated in the mix, or it can be in the playback equipment, like in this case. But I will note, how noticeable it is WILL depend on the head-related transfer function of individual people. So while there's a general trend for 'correct' for human ears, that's not going to be specific for each individual. But for MY head related transfer function, yes, the emphasis to sibilant tones is due to 'hot treble' as you put it, specifically between 7-10khz.

    • @TonkyTronicus
      @TonkyTronicus Před 2 lety +2

      Sibilance is, in fact, user specific. My particular sibilance range is around 6.1k so I always look for a dip around 6k in the graph before buying an IEM. Oluvsgadgets put out a sibilance test a while back asking for people to identify where in the FR they heard sibilance and the results were evenly distributed across a wide FR range.

    Not for me either, over rated and the sound quality isn’t as captivating as some people rave about. There are better iems out there. Even some wireless buds do better than these but that’s just one’s preference of personal sound.

    I own this set. Can't get past the sibilance on vocals. It also makes high hats and snare drums stand out more than anything. It's amazing if you're listening to Miles Davis or something similar. But listen to Lewis Capaldi and it's painful.
