What is the difference between tonality and tuning?
Didnt they say its made of zirconium instead of aluminium
@@jungholee7778 yes its zirconium, not aluminium
bruh.. how's a detail like that missed. 3d printed zirconium was all the articles and hype was about
@@ryant169 he is human, after all in case you are forget 🙄
I love seeing the difference in Joshua’s and Crinacles opinion. Similar descriptions of the sound signature but then polar opposite conclusions.
well Crin didn't collab on this model so there's that.
@@aceofspades6667 Crin liked a model he didnt colab on. What is your point at the end?
Watch valour b rolls. Nothing more
I prefer Crin's opinion since I absolutely love the Blessing 2 Dusk!
@@aceofspades6667 crin doesn’t review his colabs….so unsure where you got this opinion from…..
Had the ie600 for several weeks now and loving them more and more. Detail depth coherence and enjoyment🙂
I went to this big 5-floor department store specializing on earphones&headphones in Akihabara, Japan, a few days ago and by chance stumbled upon Crinacle himself there (!!) lol...what a coincidence. Anyhow, I came determined to buy the Moondrop Blessing 2, but after listening to Moondrop S8, Variations, Thieaudio Monarch Mk. 2, Sony IER-1ZR, Sennheiser IE 900and the IE 600,.. I gotta say the IE 600 sounded the most recognizably distinct, luxurious, smooth, non-fatiguing, non-harsh, while at the same time very resolving sounding. I just kept going back to IE600 in the store. Out of the gears I tried today, the only ones capable of sounding better than the IE600 there were the HEADPHONES lke Susvara and the Stax SR-X9000--even the Senn HD800S were not free of harshness. In this regard, I agree very much with DMS, Crinacle's, and SuperReview's. Some reviewers championing the IE 600 caution about the potential 'spicy treble', but I really did't get what they meant because my main complain with some of those IEMs mentioned above was that their treble was a bit harsh/piercing/sibilant to my ears (except for the Sony IER-1ZR and to a slightly lesser degree the Thieaudio Monarch Mk. 2). My test tracks were: operatic vocals (Pavarotti, J.D. Florez), classical (Beethoven 5th, Die Fledermaus' Overture), jazz vocals (Gregory Porter, N. Jones, Emily King) and traditional folks (Maura Airez).
I need to save up and get the IE 600, it's really that good!
Reading you say that makes me a little more comfortable with saving up for the IE600. I was looking at things like the 7Hz Timeless, Blessing2:Dusk, and Variations, but the IE600 looks the most durable and comfortable, without messing up the sound.
@@Slavolko Yeah, I went to that store twice two weeks or so apart, and each time the IE600 impressed me greatly. Maybe next I will spend more time in comparing the IE600 and the IE900.
@@nurhandrio I think you'll be fine with the IE600, but it won't hurt to compare again. Some people prefer the IE600 to Sennheiser's other IEMs, including the IE900.
On a side note, I'm looking at cheaper options to the IE600. Letshuoer S12 Pro seems like one candidate. It seems similar to the 7Hz Timeless, if you're familiar with that, but the shell design looks better and more comfortable to me. Dan's Audio Reviews does audio demos, and in one video we heard the S12, Timeless, and IE600 together. The IE600 sounded good for sure, so I'm positive I would like it if I saved up for it, but I don't think I should be spending that much right now.
@@Slavolko I mean yes, on a quick listen, IE600 was more to my liking than the IE900 and others. I know that Dan's Audio Review. But due to how youtube processes sound and your own individual hearing, I still will rely on trying them myself. For example some people say IE600 has 'spicy' treble, but not to me at all, in fact other sets seemed a bit sharper to my ears. But yeah in the case you cannot ry them first yourselves...luck better be on your side! >_
@@nurhandrio Trying it out yourself is miles better than reading or watching reviews. I just meant that Dan offers one point of comparison between IEMs, even if it's not perfect.
I think I've read some people saying the IE600 have spicy treble as well, but that didn't sound right to me. It could just be different ear canals. The S12 is also described as being bright sometimes, while also "underemphasizing highs". Whatever the case, it's nothing a little EQ can't fix if the rest of the sound is to your liking.
Sennheiser's first true, objectively great across the board IEM imo. No one can say it is mediocre in any regard - be it comfort, fit, tonality, resolution etc... I prefer neutral tuning, so that may be the reason why I wasn't blown away by the 300 or the 900
I like basy, warm, and somewhat dark, a well done V-shaped... However, the IE 300 was very very weird to me. It took me just one day to realize that they were absolutely not my tasting. I returned them, but I was somewhat bumped, because I had some expectations about them
I have both 600 and 900, i agree. I'd even say it's better than 900 in some area.
600 doesnt have a neutral tuning either, its U-Shaped. Maybe what you meant is that IE 300 is too "damp" due to its sound profile (Same with 600) in contrast to the quality, and the IE 900 is just a really hard V-Shape relative to the Z1R.
But noone pay attention to mids anyways am i rite???? :D
@@zelven6109yeah, there is definitely a bit of overlap overall between bass and midrange but it’s not excessive like consumer products. I think those that find consumers products a bit too v shaped will prefer this still not completely neutral but definitely more neutral than some overdone stuff.
The way you shoot these videos is some other level professional type stuff! In every single video there are beautiful shots! So clear and crisp with damn near perfect lighting! Maybe upload 50 times a day so we can always see your art? 😂 I’m joking but damn you have a talent! Not only that but just the way you explain the equipment you’re reviewing gives so much detail! Keep these badass videos up!
Love the 300, I even got the 100's, found them just as good but thought they would be as comfortable as the 300's but they're not. Absolutely love the 300 for being so comfortable.
I got a pair of 400 pros second hand not too long ago but find them to be kinda uncomfortable. I am pretty sure the 100s have the same housing as the 400s. Would it be worth selling the 400s and buying a pair of 300s purely to increase the comfort?
Nice Street Triple in the background!! Just noticed this after trying to decide between the IE900 and IE600.
Great content. Great review, glad to know what you think of the value. Also the lack of a hat threw me off, glad to see you trying new things.
Great video Josh!
Thanks for putting this review together. Would you be able to put a review up comparing the Sennheiser IE500 pro's to IE600's?
I wish you would have compared these to other dynamic iems in the price range or below (and not the hd600 lol). I'm trying to decide on ie600 and some others.
Hopefully I get a chance to take a look at these soon. Just released my Final Audio B3 review. Could be a good comparison there...
Would love a music playlist. Best music for bass/mids/highs. Plus what to listen for for newbies to the space.
If you are looking for an item that matches the mids of the hd600 line, audiofly AF1200 is the iem you been looking for
Hey Josh this my first day watching your videos and right away i had to subscribe! Very informational !
I have a question i was wishing you help me !
I recently bought a HD 800s headset and was wondering what we be a GREAT amp and Dac that i can push all the performance out of these headsets !
( tube amps is something i look forward too)
- as-long as it gives clarity and decent bass ill be Happy !
I never heard a push pull or single . Mind you .
Josh can I have a playlist of all the songs you generally use to listen to headphones. Really enjoyed the "a kiss in the dark" album you recommended in one of your videos
Hi and thanks for your great reviews from Iran❤️ .
Josh films in Iran?
I recently bought ie300 and they're like the most V shape headphones I've ever heard :D so far I've found one review that states that they are very V shape, wonder is it because our ears are build differently and it really makes a difference how IEMs sound.
The measurements indicate that the ie300 are indeed super V shaped, so it is not just you. This pair seems to have been tuned differently - according to the same source.
it's not you, He's trying to sell it to you so he can get cut on sale

Can you do a video about the Sennheiser HD 599’s?
Would love to see a Hifiman Edition XS review.
Ah, a Triumph Daytona 675R in the background.
A man of taste....
Thanks...you should do Monarch mk2..✌️ 😁
Can you please review the Fiio FD7 iems? They are similar in price to the IE600 and use a single dynamic driver.
got a chance to demo the IE600 in store yesterday, boyyy is it a bass canon, reminds me of sony headphones like the Z7 and 7506. If you're coming from Sennheiser open backs then it's gonna be a shock to the system. I feel like cheaper IEMs like the ER2XR and blessing 2/3 does bass and even midrange better than Sennheiser. Their IE series lacks ear gain for some reason unlike their headphones. Anywho that's my impression, hopefully senneheiser can improve on this since I find their in-ear design to be super comfortable!
You should review the Moondrop Kato , would really like to see that
I was never going to pay full retail for this pair of IEM's. But got a refurbished set directly from Sennheiser with a heavy discount. Arrived looking like new. Coming from a pair of IE200, these are clearly better. Comfort is exactly the same, if not better with slightly more weight seating it better in the ear. Maybe some will find the lighter 200's feel more comfortable. If it's in your budget, I would recommend it.
do they need a preamp? or can you use them with a phone and have good and loud sound? if so.. do they offer a cable with mic? i am searching for a good in ear with mic. I am a fan of the sennheiser sound, but was dissapointed with the sound of the CX300s.
Hey Josh! When will you review the Hifiman Edition XS?
Man... does anyone know what microphone Joshua uses? Shit sounds great!
just wanna let you know all of the amazon/products links in the description isn't working, it just leads to the amazon home page
u are actually the only one that recommend buying 900 or 300 over 600 xD
Hi Joshua, how did you compare with Moondrop Variations?
Meze Audio are doing the Cast Metal with their RAI Series i suggest to look at those they are awesome.
I bought the ie900 I guess 2 years ago. I recently bought the IE 600s because of all the reviews saying the ie 600 was better than the ie900 and a recent sale for $500. going back-and-forth I find the ie900 to have a better soundstage and cleaner bass. Although to get great sound for me I have to eq the ie900. This is the only review I have found that has the same opinion. 😅
Currently the ie600 is $500 and the ie900 is $1,000… I use in ears to drum with as well as a lot of personal use on my phone and computer watching shows/videos and listening to music.
I was wondering if you’d still recommend going for the 900’s at this price-point or would the price reduction change your mind?
I used to have ie500’s and loved em, but they were misplaced when our house was being re-carpeted and painted… I was super bummed.
lol the intro talking about worries of them being cast when they're 3d printed space metal earphones
Bro has got a Triumph Daytona 675R in the background ... Instant respect. I loved that bike. Never should have sold it.
Have you tried sony MDR 1AM2? How does it sound quality?
Without looking it up they look like cast steel shells that have been sand blasted down. I have a steel shaving razor exactly like that, I'd assume maybe they are a higher grade aluminium to keep them light instead of steel but same process probably. That way they can mass produce them from casts without worrying about any issues you might get with resin or plastic.
They are 3D laser printed from amorphous zirconium alloy. It's 3x harder, yet ductile, than most steels. Used on ice drill bits by NASA.
Listening to them I noticed stuff I never did on my hd600. Somehow didn’t expect that
You rock !
Would you prefer the the ie900 over the 600?
Me want one.
Mixing would be fun on these i guess
You need to try Thieaudio Monarch mk1 or mk2
Sony IER M7 seems to be a good competitor of this
Even M9, IE600 can easily beating up both of them
When you are going to review the hifiman XS
Joshua followers from Saudi Arabia keep it up
Haven’t personally listened to an HD600, but many compare the Moondrop Blessing 2 tuning to that headphone
I have the Blessing 2, HD 600 and just bought Shure 1540. All are outstanding without breaking the bank and have their specific applications/uses.
so how exactly does it perform compaired to the ie300 ? Is the 600 bassier or the 300 ? and in terms of like soundstage, which one is wider ?
Ie 300 is bassier
I don’t comment often, but thank you for these incredible reviews. Giving us your honest opinion of “It’s not worth the price tag” is immensely valuable to me. We need this type of honesty, especially in these situations where your income is (partially) tied to affiliate sales. I’m voting with my time/wallet to support you for this. Watched the entire ad when it popped up and bought the IE900 through your affiliate link.
IE400 is the gem in this series.
I think whether it's worth the price tag or not, it's depends on individual and what kind of sound that you are looking for.
If you are looking for something that worth price, you need to try it directly.
Ie 900 sound great hands down. Especially if you switch cables to the 4.4 and use a DAC. Every song sounds amazing. With that said the 300 sounds really good with a 4.4 and DAC as well. It really does make a difference for sound stage, power, and clarity. I'm curious to compare the ie600 to the 900. The 900 is noticeably better but the 900 is $1499 now and the 300 can be found for $250. That's a huge difference! Then again if it's that much more enjoyable it's up to the individual if the added cost is worth it. In a few years, you'll forget how ridiculous they were.
What is your favorite IEM for music vs gaming?
Would you still suggest these over the 600’s now that the 600s are $500 and these are double at $1K?
You can try the Blessing 2 extremely similar to hd 600
Looks like something Gimli would craft.
Please review Sony Linkbuds
What a stark contrast to Crinacle's review. I'm with you here. Love my IE 300 and 900. Definitely won't be buying the 600.
Thank you. I have the ie300 and want to upgrade. Some prefer the ie600 instead of the ie900. I Thank I to for the 900. Greetings from Holland 👍🏻👍🏻🇳🇱🇳🇱👋🏻👋🏻
Nice safe conclusion saying people should maybe get something else but only saying they should get another Senn product. Links to those other Senn products in the description by the way. I don't think I need to be here anymore.
Cool
Can anyone compare the ie300 to moondrop kato? I don’t know which one i should take. I hear lot of jazz and instrumental music. So soundstage and imaging is important for me.
Let's go
I'm not into iems are anything, but one tuned like an HD 600 could definitely change my mind.

Timeless is crap. Muddy unnatural sound.
@@morespinach9832 not on my kit with uncompressed audio, obviously depends as well on what you listen to, listen with, specific build variations, and your expectations. My others are sennheiser ie600 and Shure 846.
However, whilst the Timeless are better for some genres than others, I preferred the slightly darker sound over the s12 which I found less pleasant.
@@Andyhandle Tidal. No, it’s not natural balanced sound. Hideously coloured. But whatever, enjoy.
@@morespinach9832 Tidal is still behind compared to uncompressed with my setup (and ears), noticeably with complex classical recordings (which the IE600s excel at) . Whichever IEMs and source kit you're using, enjoy.
@@Andyhandle irrelevant. Same source, different IEMs, one has amazing and natural sound (like Onkyo E700M or Senn IE400) while others have idiotically inaccurate sound (Timeless, blessing, S12, etc). Sorry but it doesn’t compute. The fanboyism over chi-fi is just plain warped.
They aren’t cast, they’re metal 3D printed, but you probably know that by now :)

I'm currently looking into the 600s is there an IP rating on the 600s? The reason why I'm asking is because I have a lawn care business and I'm looking into buying new earbuds. Are they going to be loud enough for a lawn mower if not can you recommend an earbud? I currently have a Sennheiser true momentum Wireless 2
I'd recommend staying away from wired IEMs for outside work like lawn mowing. TWS earphones is what you want, hopefully with ANC. Get something that's comfortable for your ears and has long battery life for long work days. You can wear hearing protection over small TWS earbuds as well, if they don't have ANC or if really need extra protection.
The $700 IEM is only slightly less silly than a $1,500 IEM.

In which way?
Hey I don't really know that much about iems or headphones in general, but I have a question so I heard on a ltt stream I heard that sennheiser was bought by another company (of health care about hearing or something like that)and I thought they were not going to produce any more headphones. But is this true or just not?
Sennheiser never said anything about stopping to produce headphones, I think they tweeted that some time ago.
I think the IE300 was their last IEM they made before being sold, but they don't seem to have any intent on stopping to produce headphones or IEMs. They operate like they used to, but they belong to another company nowmc
@@KurtKloetentreter Oh, ok i see, well thank you.
