Marc Russo's range and facility on the extended alto saxophone range is utterly ridiculous, delicious and conspicuous.
Always loved the Yellowjackets their beautiful compositions, credited to the style of Russel Ferrante and certainly here where it keeps modulating back and forth between E and G. Such a nice "lifting" element in the solo
This is taken from a solo on "Homecoming" by the Yellowjackets Live at the Pori jazz festival in 1988. Hope you enjoy!
