Consider using the next size bigger edging trim over the tile thickness. This will help when you figure in the thin set and tile combined thickness.

Have these folks ever heard of TCNA (Tile Council of North America) guidelines. 1) Comb the thinset mortar in the direction of the tiles shortest dimension. 2) Rock the tile back and forth perpendicular to the direction combed to collapse the mortar channels made by the trowel notches. These principles are bedrock.
Watch closely as the tiles are laid and you will see that they are not getting full coverage. If you were to pull one of these tiles, you would see lines of mortar alternating with bare spots that are completely unsupported. The tile would break easily if struck and will loosen prematurely from the wall.
Really, if you are going to make an instructional video, you should take the time to understand your trade. The last thing homeowners need is expert advice from people who have no idea what they are doing.

I’m using tile that’s 10 mm thick, should I use the 3/8 inch trim or 0.5 inch trim?

Hi there ! Yes would be better to use a 1/2'' profile as your tile might be slightly higher in the middle especially if you are using a larger format tile. Also by using a 1/2'' profile, it will accommodate the thin-set thickness.
You can also contact our Customer service teams if you would like profile samples to check for fit with your tile. You can reach them at 800-472-4588 (US) or 800-667-8746 (CA). Hope that helps! 🍊

When using on the outside corners of a bench do you use grout or caulk between the edging and the tile? Thanks

Hi Hunter! You can fill the edging with grout or setting material. Here is a link to our data sheet for complete instructions: sccpublic.s3-external-1.amazonaws.com/sys-master/images/hbc/h3d/9438313971742/Wall%20and%20Countertop%20Profiles%20Data%20Sheet.pdf

Can you put the anchoring leg underneath your backer board?

Hi Lisa! If that works out better for your installation, profile thickness wise, and it's not in a shower, sure. Follow the same guidelines for grout joint size and ending up with a flush finish or the profile 1/32" lower than the tile and you should be fine.

What were the trims installed with that were installed off camera. Was that the schluter caulk?

Hey Marcus! Profiles are generally installed with thin-set mortar. Please have a look at the installation steps here if you have any questions about a specific profile: sccpublic.s3-external-1.amazonaws.com/sys-master/images/h80/hb7/9348889870366/Wall%20and%20Countertop%20Profiles%20Data%20Sheet.pdf
