  • On 8-31-2023, we would do something a little different. We would go to Massachusetts to watch BO-1 traverse the Danvers Branch in Peabody and Salem, MA for the last time. Rousselot, the last industry on the branch, is set to close by the end of 2023. After 173 years, there will be no need to run trains to Peabody.
MEC 516 would bring in two empty cement cars to Rousselot. These two cars would be used as spacers for the one empty acid car they were picking up. After BO-1 finished their work at Rousselot, the chase would be on. We would chase to Peabody Square before the crew took a lunch break. After the break, the chase would resume. We would chase to Flint Street in Salem, then BO-1 would enter North Street Yard and run around the train. We would then continue to chase them as they shoved toward the Salem MBTA Station.
BO-1 would wait on the Danvers Branch for Keolis 111 to pass before shoving out onto Track 1. There, they would let Keolis 114 pass them. Then, BO-1 would continue. Minutes later, Keolis 197 would roll by.
Now we would call it a day, and head for home. Enjoy the video!
