We recorded this 4k ultra hd video during our trip to Lisbon, Portugal on July 2020.
Located on the westernmost front of Continental Europe, Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. It is also one of the oldest cities in the world, and the second-oldest European capital city (after Athens). In 1755 a massive earthquake, and subsequent tidal wave and fire, killed 40,000 and completely destroyed much of the Lisbon lower central districts.
Our guided walking tour is about 4.66 miles (7.5 km) long, starts at Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio) and covers most attractions and historic sites of Lisbon.

Such a wonderful city. My wife and I visited on our first international trip together, my first time crossing the Atlantic. I couldn't have asked for a more magnificent place to visit. Wonderful people, beautiful art, amazing food. I hope to return someday soon.

Lisbon is the most beautiful city in the world, and Portugal is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. ❤️ The city of Porto is very old and romantic city. The Portuguese should be proud of the beauty of their country. They have a beautiful nature, climate, architecture, cuisine, music (fado) ... Only people without souls don't like fado. Lisbon has a soul, and its name is ‘fado’. Fado was recognised by UNESCO in 2011 as an ‘intangible cultural heritage’. Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city, is the heartbeat of the country. It’s also one of the oldest cities in the world, predating even Rome. Lisbon is a city of old souls who value tradition, art, and creativity and are putting those facets of life to use in modern ways.
The Portuguese people are some of the kindest I’ve come across in my travels. They are one of the best nations in the world, they are very polite and friendly open to foreigners. People with the beautiful hearts and souls.
For me, the Portuguese language is the most beautiful language. I speak several languages including Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, German, and Croatian, my native language. Languages are my passion. European Portuguese and Slavic languages have the same phonetics. In Portugal, Russian speaking people learn the language quite easily. English speaking people don't use many of the sounds used in Portuguese, so they have a bit more difficulty.
European Portuguese is sexy as fuck, it's a perversion for my ears. 😊 Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes once called Portuguese "the sweet and gracious language" and Spanish playwright Lope de Vega referred to it as "sweet", while the Brazilian writer Olavo Bilac poetically described it as "a última flor do Lácio, inculta e bela" (the last flower of Latium, rustic and beautiful). Portuguese is also termed "the language of Camões", after one of the greatest literary figures in the Portuguese language, Luís Vaz de Camões.
Olavo Bilac once said "a Pátria não é a raça, o meio, o conjunto dos aparelhos económicos e políticos, é o idioma herdado ou criado por um povo". Fernando Pessoa wrote in Lisbon "a minha Pátria é a Língua Portuguesa".
Fado is such s high level art form, and no other language, I repeat, no other language could ever work for fado, not even remotely. This form of artistic musical expression only works with Portuguese. This language evokes all of the necessary soulful spiritual nuances, emotions, feelings. Only the Portuguese could turn the concept of FATE into the highly developed musical art form that it is. The beautiful, sonorous, smooth Portuguese language allowed for that to happen. European Portuguese is equally perfect for poetry and literature.
As beautiful as French, Italian, Spanish are, neither of these languages would sound right for fado. And Brazilian Portuguese has the same musical relationship with samba, Bossa nova. No other language would work for these 2 musical styles. I can't imagine samba, Bossa nova sung in any other language than Portuguese, of the Brazilian variety. It's perfect for that because its intonation is so expressive, and Brazilians have such a playful relationship with the Portuguese language. Precisely why it works for their own musical styles. Lisbon is a city that shines, it is bright in colors and light, and I think it's so beautiful. The streets look so peacefull, silent and safe, I felt relaxed whatching and imagining me there. I am brazilian with portuguese ascendence but I didn't have the chance to go to Portugal yet. I hope it happens as soon as possible this pandemic ends.

Like 'o Porto', Lisbon was built on seven hills, so when the sun is burning hot; climbing those streets on foot can be a daunting challenge, but its beauty turns all that sweat and exhaustion into a pleasant and rewarding experience, to be remembered for life...
Good for your health, with great and fresh food that we have... But you can use the Bolt or Uber service (very very cheap).
Portuguese aesthetic is unique. Im brazilian, my great grandparents were portuguese but ive never been to Portugal. I hope to visit soon, its gonna be awesome to connect with the country of my ancestors and of course, the past of my country since Portugal was also responsible for the formation of the brazilian nation 🇧🇷🤝🏼🇵🇹 te amo Portugal, espero te conhecer em breve
This excellent video brings back memories of the 8 weeks I spent in Lisbon in 2013. I walked all over the city, including most of the areas seen in the video. And how nice to be reminded of how relatively little graffiti there is in Lisbon, as compared with, say, Paris--which is loaded with it. I've always told people how much I liked Lisbon--and now it's definitely time to plan another stay!

I love Portugal but it does have its scammers. I recently rented an
apartment using an off brand RE agency. Both the agency and the
apartment owner appear to be criminals. Only use major internationally
known RE agencies. If something seems suspicious in the lease write an
addendum even if it is in handwriting. If they are legitimate they won't
mind. With more and more people coming to Portugal, we will see more
and more scams. If anyone knows the government agencies that deal with
this, please let me know. The agency I am dealing with is in Olhau and the apartment is a beach apartment in Quarteira.

Sou brasileiro, do Rio de Janeiro, e aqui ainda temos muitos prédios do tempo do império, de arquitetura portuguesa. A antiga arquitetura portuguesa é belíssima e, na minha opinião, uma precursora da arquitetura moderna, de traços simples, sem muitos ornamentos, sem deixar de ser bela.

A tentativa de imitar cidades como Paris e Londres acabou comprometendo a estética e até a infraestrutura das capitais brasileiras. Com o tempo foram melhorando e hoje nossas capitais são lindas, mas seriam ainda mais se tivessem mantido a arquitetura portuguesa. Seria outro destaque pro turismo no Brasil

I’ve been looking for a country to emigrate to. I’m from the US and our country is falling similarly to the fall of Rome. Portugal rates very highly on my list! Since it is close to the US, as well as how beautiful the landscape is, the people, and how peaceful it appears as a country.
The US is nowhere near as great as rome was in its hayday kind of ignorant of you to compare a country that still has to pay for healthcare with the greatest ancient empire in history. And Portugal is on the other side of the Atlantic its nowhere close to the US, work on your geography
I miss my sunny city so much. Living in the Uk I don't see sun for weeks and this is my way to travel there as I can’t do it at the moment.
