From what I see in this video Madrid appears very wheelchair friendly. There is an abundance of wide pathways with flat pavement (no cobblestones). As a wheelchair user this makes me happy. I pray I'm lucky enough to visit someday!

Madrid is one of the Great European capitals I have NOT visited, and after watching this video...I need to address that! Wow! - it is Stunningly Beautiful! Elegant, and Imperial!...reminds me of St. Petersburg. Lisbon has been my favorite for a long time, followed by Istanbul, but the architecture here is excellent, refined and solid - and there is Spaciousness!

Never miss visiting the Royal Basilica of San Francisco El Grande in Madrid. It has the third biggest dome in Europe and a Goya painting inside. It's so beautiful. You can also visit the home of Lope de Vega (book it first) in the writers district and Sorolla's as well a varios palaces that are wonderful.

Si lo que quiere es simplemente pasear tiene como para diez o doce días con lugares como éstos (hemos visto tres o cuatro parques y jardines; en Madrid hay 3.800, por ponerle un ejemplo). Si está interesada en más cosas (arte, deporte, teatro...) entonces necesita un par de meses. Y si, además, le gusta los emplazamientos históricos, la naturaleza y las excursiones de un día, otro par de meses más.
