That's what I admire most about him, and what a non golfer would have no clue about....the ability to keep that smile on his face and that happy demeanor through a round, win or lose, in a game that will frustrate the living sh8t out of even the best, even on a good day. You can't fake that. No amount of prize or endorsement money will buy that for you. It's character and it's class. Not to mention the way he interacts with galleries during and after a round or if you meet him off the course.

(Two other crazy moments not in this: In the 2003 Masters he took an unplayable on #2, used driver from way off the fairway, somehow hit the green and made a birdie putt across the entire green. And I don't remember which game it was, but he chipped in during a hailstorm, when everyone else was running for cover.)

I had the honor of meeting Phil Mickelson in 2004 at the Ryder Cup in Bloomfield, MI. He's a true gentleman and gracious to his fans. He's an all-around, good natured guy. He's everything you'd hope he to be. He's the real deal. I just wish that I could go back in time and NOT wear his autographed hat.

I’m sorry, but I’m not sure there is going to be any story in sports that is capable of matching what Tiger did at the Masters.
