Phil Mickelson is the ultimate "play it where it lies" guy
That’s incredibly true
how it should be
No question
Yup
I swear he puts himself in these situations just so he can pull off these incredible recovery shots. Legend
Gotta be on purpose lol I was just thinking that.
I literally was thinking this earlier
The only guy who can honestly say he was better than Tiger with a wedge.
Other than me of course
There were a couple others
Seve, Watson, Zinger
Bob Vokey, when asked who was the best, said Seve and it is not close, then Trevino and Phil, then Tiger.
I honestly think Tiger would say Phil was better than him with a wedge.
Every shot starts with something like “if anyone can do this it’s phil”
And he can
I reckon most of his shots start with his caddy say, "no Phil that'll never work " followed by him saying "wanna bet".
@@davidnewman5807 ya
My Grandpa has the same commentary with my golf! “Did you see it go in the sand, then out of the sand, hit a tree and BACK in the same bunker?! If there’s anyone that can do it, it’s Dylan Thompson.”
Who’s here after Phil just won the PGA championship at Kiawah....
Phil is so human. He plays from bad lies and under the trees as much as an amateur golfer. Difference is he makes his best shots from the worst situations. Always been a high risk high reward golfer and has always been my favorite modern golfer.
Like McCord said, "The worse it gets the better he gets"
Like fine wine, mickelson only gets better with his age.
He’s actually gotten significantly worse irl but his highlights age well lol
Dude blows what are you talking about
Lol
@@sm-mv8hi pretty sure he’s saying that people appreciate Phil’s greatness more now
I would not say that he blows guys 😎 your comments did not age well
Watching Phil the Thrill and Tiger in their prime was a special time for golfing fans!!!
Phil's reactions are priceless. He tries to hide the smile but fails every time. I think that's what makes him a fan favorite
17:16 dude jumps into the water
i like to imagine he thought everyone would jump in and looked around and he was the only one
@@xxwill6xx576 i reckon he had money on him to win,or he was just his no1 fan
@@737Jumpseat or may have lost a bet amongst his peers.lol.
I came here for this comment. Thank you.
Did anyone else notice the guy cannonball into the water after the very last shot?
Yeah, he didn’t survive that unfortunately.
@@Will-nb8qk Huh, was it the piranha or alligators that got him. Give us an explanation Will.
@@dankosek4274 yo mama got him
He singlehandedly made me love the sport as a kid. He's a mad scientist; not afraid to hit any lie or hazard. Has me howling and in awe in equal measure.
Bro I haven't even hit 50 good shots in my life what the heck
Who doesn't love Lefty. He surprised me every time I watched him try a crazy shot
13:43
The most unreal backspin I have seen in my life!
he had bugs bunny use a magnet under the green
@@vdunny3780 only logical answer
look the 3:50 bunker shot that was the unreal backspin i think
How on earth is his 2nd shot from #13 in the 2010 Masters not here?! Probably the single greatest shot I've ever seen in my life.
majors are excluded from the list
@@ricardoraposo3630 but why?
They done messed up a Aron
PGA tour has no permission to use it.
@@bryannguyen8440 but I thought the majors were part of the PGA Tour?
Phil has always been my favorite golfer. I've never met him but I've heard he is one of the nicest guys on the PGA tour. And a great father/ husband. Would love to meet him some day.
Phil would've won 20 majors had he been born 10 yrs earlier..(pre-Tiger.)
I love Phil. But doesn't that sort of say Tiger is simply better. If Tiger wasn't born, a lot of people would have won a lot of titles. But he was born and he did win all the PGA titles.
@@tash_views I'm a way bigger Phil fan than a Tiger fan, but yes, Tiger is better.
But Tiger didn’t even win 20...but I see your point
I think 12 is a more reasonable amount. To be fair, Phil would've won at least 3 more majors if he did not take too many risks. A lot of the times that he got close he lost because he took too many chance and lost to non-Tiger players.
@@christopherliang6879 you could also argue that Phil won as many as he did because of the risks he takes.
Long life Phil. You have given us so much.
Love Phil Mickelson videos, absolute legend
The reason for fan favorite...
He has a beautiful smile
moral of the story: phil mickelson hits bad tee shots
True. But, it doesn't matter. Phil's entertainment factor has been good for golf.
@@logiman ik man, im just joking. I love phil
@@fitz908 Right. I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or serious. Either way, it's true. He put himself in position to have to make miraculous shots.
If I think of 2 repeated Phil moments, it’s magical up and downs from around the green, and him saying “Oh my god” after hitting his tee shot
Drive for show putt for dough!
I watched Phil chipping around the practice green in Southport, he is golfing magician, an experience I will never forget. He is also a true gentleman and a credit to the game of golf.
I love the clips when he celebrates with Zach Johnson with a handshake. For some reason that’s so fun to me.
No one:
Literally no one:
The Commentator: If anyone's gonna do it, it's Phil
the greatest wedge player to ever play on tour.
His short game was unmatched, superior.
4:17 #38 is LITERALLY one of the best golf shots I have EVER seen.
I love the calm handshake reaction to amazing shots at the ryder cups. Just great .
They'll never be another Phil.
The human highlight reel of golf.
Phil Mickelson is like the Houdini of Golf you never know what he's going to do, but you know it's going to be incredible
A truly gifted player and a class act every time! Love watching him play!
I agree. Phil, Rory, and Duval are my favorites
He makes me feel better. I'm constantly hitting from different obstacles as well.
Probably the best short game golfer you'll ever see. Incredible.
Absolutely number 1+ with the skill to do sometimes the impossible and make it look easy. What a job to watch and then laugh with him.
One of my all time favourite golfers, legend
Phil to me had and probably still has the greatest recovery game I've ever seen. Yhe imagination heart bottle and the ability yo make a nevmgative a massive positive. The man is my hero because he like seve got into situations we all find ourselves in and somehow managed to pull shots off 99 percent of golfers can't even see. Unbelievable golfer, unbelievable personality one of if not the best short game player the planet has ever seen.
Phil Mickelson must have the most Chip-Ins on the PGA Tour.
Even non-golfers love Phil !
You got to love the guy , a real person who loves life
Love the video. Thanks PGA! ;)
I must watch too much Golf. I was surprised at how many of these shots that I saw live. Great video- thanks for posting!
It's a pleasure watching him play.
"Phil the thrill"...I tip my hat 🎩
Man, from a lad from the south west of Ireland and Limerick to be specifically, the k club 2006 cemented my love for this game. Phil and tiger brought the game of golf to us common folk. In my humble opinion, they changed my life. I now play off 26, once a year. Much love x will get better over time.. for sure!!
17:15, that dude just yeeted into the pond
lol
Phil's the best at recovery shots, coz he really has to be to stay in contention. He's a legend!
I never play golf, ones I was in golf club. But it's this man watching make me want to try golf for the first time!
This video is part of my pre-round warm up. I believe in watching people do things perfectly to prepare for battle.
I 💕Phil Michelson! As a newbie and high handicapper he is an inspiration!
His short game is just incredible
Incredible!
Lefty's teachings have shaved strokes off my handicap. But not one of us will compare to this guru modern day master of that 60. He is a special golfer that all of us should admire.
16 people gave this a thumbs down?
They must not like golf, sports in general, pure skill,.... or life
He is a living legend
The gentleman of the game and a nice guy with it, always has time for his fans
Phil understood early that ⛳ is a spectator sport and pure entertainment which he has perfected.
King of the “Ho-hum, birdie” 😆
OMG i just love this video! I used to suck at my shortgame but now i am much better thanks to Phil and these motivation videos, i have been training so much and now my hcp is 2.0.
I've been trying to practice my chipping technique and steepen it a little, I'm too inconsistent around the green and a good putter but hcp is 10 on 18.
A True People's Champion - Phil Mickelson!
One of my favorite players of all. Phil..
Phil the Thrill for a reason
Could watch him all day
On some of these I just literally started cracking up out loud.
Almost a 20 min long video from pga, YES
One of my favorite moments is at 46, I remember seeing that live and laughing when I heard it.
I don’t know how many of you here watch cricket. Those long shots by Phil looks like Yuvrajs straight drive for a six. Amazing, elegant and pure artistry.
This man is a legend. Wow 👏
Love you, Phil! Happy Birthday!
Amazing Player!
This man has magic in his hands.
#30 is incredible!! 2 amazing shots
The guy at the end who jumps into the pond after Phil's win is my spirit animal.
Between Phil and JD golf is so much fun to watch
45 has to be my favorite
Chipping off the green in a hailstorm and making it. At worst that’s a top 10 shot.
After last weekends PGA Championship you need to add one more shot to this list!! Great chip-in at #5 during the final round. Perfect shot at the perfect moment!
Legend!
With all due respect to TIGER as the best complete golfing champion of all time, PHIL is the #1 thrill giving shotmaker ever !!
What an artist
Wow!
20+ years of pro golf and the announcers still be like “this is going to be a difficult par for Phil” …. Phil makes birdie!
Phil's the man.
Love Phil M.!
Phil is my spirit animal.
Phil the Thrill !
9 is insane hits the stick on the way by, then pulls the string into the cup.
I can't believe the pine straw shot at 13 on Sunday at the 2010 Masters is not #1 (or at least top 3) on the list considering the pressure of the back nine of a major on Sunday. Oh, he won it too!
Kept waiting for it thinking it might be 1 haha
But I guess maybe they don’t count non regular tour events like majors for this “list”
@@jamesovertone7914 has to be the case, right? We can all agree that is one of his if not one of the best all time...
Non majors. Please read the description.
'Oh ye of little faith." -Phil's family motto
The most relaxed and technically most perfect swing in golf.
I always thought Fred Couples had the most relaxed swing in golf.
shot number 21 is crazy cool ! 😎👍👏
phil the magician
the short game is insane
With Tiger, you expect perfection on every shot...with Phil, you expect him to make a mistake and put miracles on the next shot
Happy new year for all partners golf in the Word from Bogotá Carlos Leon
Okay shot 22nd blew my mind
Remember that commercial where the man ends his bedtime prayer saying, Oh, and please let Phil win a major.
I know he missed the putt, but that shot in 2010 from the pine grass on 13 was sublime.
Que jugadorazo..!
I always liked, rooted for, and always knew Phil was a shot maker, but idk he was a chain breaker!!! Whoa
Master of the short game
