I have followed you for years and enjoy doing projects with you. My father died last week after a nine, yes nine, year battle with Alzheimer’s. After caring for him for so long I am feeling very empty right now. I have watched this video and I am promising you, and myself, that I will do it. Thanks for being there and sharing your story. I lost my husband and my mother 5 years ago. I thought my depression would be better by now, or thought it SHOULD be better by now. Thanks to you and your encouragement for self love, I finally admitted to my doctor that my depression has gotten much worse. Today I go for my results on testing he had done to find out which medication will work best for me since I have tried so many over the years. I want to thank you so very much for openly sharing your journey and encouraging others to get help. Painting, whether acrylic or watercolor, is my therapy. Yep after I got COVID I couldn't paint. I was in a coma for 38 days. I couldn't do anything when I woke up. Took me 3 years to come back to paint.

This was a fun video. It got me out of my bad mood and pushed me back to artwork. I watched another art video and the person who spoke asked "are you an artist or an art imitator because your follow tutorials." I was crushed. I do but I believe I learn from each one I watch. This was refreshing.
Oh, and I would ask that person where they got their art education. Because it isn't any different if you get yours online or in a classroom. Don't let people bring you down. 💕 Side note, they are not a 'true' artist because true artists encourage other artists, they don't put them down and make them feel badly. 💕

I started painting with you again last night after a break of 3 years. It all came back including the struggles which brush to use. Painting is so healing. I want to learn more about acrylic layers through these tutorials and finally embark on some of my own projects that have been staying in my head all this time.

When I had my frame shop I had an artist who would have me dry mount with heat all her watercolor paintings. It made her colors pop. Then we always put a mat on them.

Sorry to ask because it’s probably been told loads before, but what do you use as palette? I’m new and I use a cheap plastic palette with boxes but I don’t get how to use it nor can I find any advice. I have no art experience, just trying my best to paint and get better everytime.
