C'mon guys! Age of superstars will not be over unless people like you, who are supposed to understand the films, will dedicate more time to discussion on movies like Tumbbad. Out of 26 minutes, for about 20 minutes, you talked about TOH and Amir Khan. Then 3 min on Tumbbad and again answered questions regarding TOH and Amir Khan. You could have discussed achievements and shortcomings of Tumbbad, but you chose to discuss a bad film like TOH. Disappointed!

These are Bollywood people... They've been paid massively to not talk bad things about a shitty film... Putting a name of good film in title and talking about it for just a less than a min is the way of saying "tumbbad marketing team has not paid us enought"... It's all about the nepotism and superstars... Because these guys are also working in show business for years...

So true, I just kept on seeking and found no mentions, except a 1-2 min at the last. And Rahul saying he missed something in Tumbbad, dude, please. You are just biased. Appreciate that the horror it created in the first half, and the surprise it pulls off in the climax is the best in horror/thriller/surprise genre in Bollywood for a long time. Comparing a movie like Tumbbad with international cinema is gross injustice solely because of the reason that it's been made in Bollywood with so many production issues and a low budget. The vfx monster and his den gave me more chills than any Bollywood film and some Hollywood movies too.

    • @Rakz4u8
      @Rakz4u8 Před 4 lety +6

The fact why the monster in Tumbbad keeps us scary is because of the unpredictability. Usually, in horror movies we expect the monster to overpower humans always. Here, that element was changed to unpredictable. You get to see a man tease the monster and getting away with it as if nothing happened yet succumbing to it when we feel nothing will happen.

Srk’s mannerism is same the usual srk, dialogue deliveries, the way he walks, shouldn’t he at least try to study how the movements of vertically challenged people differs from regular person, i know it for the fact because one of my friends is vertically challanged and he feels that the movie is mocking people like him instead of celebrating them.

    My gripes (spoilers):
Impressive opening act. Sets up a grand, nation sweeping saga. Then goes all downhill from there.
    1. Amitabh's character was a bad ass of no background. Not even a throwaway line about his back story, or motivation. He is called Azaad. And that is supposedly meant to also be a metaphor for his moral stance - fight the British. Freedom for Indians. That stuff. But throughout the movie he isn't fighting for freedom. He's fighting for revenge. He's not fighting the British. He's fighting one man-Clive. It becomes a petty revenge movie instead of a grand period film about Thugs fighting the British. Wasted opportunity.
    2. Fatima's character also, like you guys said, completely one-note. Look angry (your parents were killed), fight. That's it.
    3. Amir's best friend in the movie? Completely useless! Grandly introduced as a man who spoke the language of the thugs and could live amongst them as one of their own, he turned out to be nothing but! Only there as a comedic relief and for Amir's verbose character to act against. Why wasn't he just introduced as a mere friend instead of all that mighty introduction?
1-3: If they mean to film a sequel, then they should've done better with the world-building and characters.
    4. After the British sail into a trap and the thugs leave one man alive to pass on a message, the thugs make no plans to change their hide-out nor put sentries out there. What kind of outfit are they? The plot-convenient kind?
    5. That dance/attempted assassination of Clive? That scene was put there only so that Katrina's character would have something to do. Remove her, write up an interesting (and plausible, or too much to ask?) assassination attempt.
Because of that scene, we had another one of those many, many twists, which by that time came off more as a shock factor. Not that a shock factor isn't any good, but by this time i felt it was stale. Instead they could've focused on an equally lengthy, smart and decisive finale.
    6. Katrina's character? She was in the movie? LoL
The other inconsistencies regarding the action sequences, I'd just be nitpicking.
Edit: Whoa! That felt good. Writing it all down. Cathartic!

Why should audience support substandard cinema because it wants to promote non-conventional film-making? Sorry making and promoting good cinema is the producers' responsibility, not the audience. I admire Rahul's reviews. It is always honest and unaffected by popular opinion.

I am glad u understood what he said. I didnt. If someone trolls me and calls me a moron for not understanding rahul's train of thought i plead guilty but his train of thought has too many tracks and the train gets derails. Thats why may be he's a DEEEEEP thinker.

Hi Sucharita! Namaste namaste. Loved your honest review and ya dude 'jaan' nahi thi movie mein. Anu I m so glad u exist ❤️...I could listen forever. It is sad that such accomplished actors expect so little from their audience to actually believe that making such a movie will satisfy the audience. Of course EXPECT MORE! It's rediculous otherwise. This is picture art in motion and the art comes alive when the motion captures the life in the eyes of the human actors. - okay got carried away at the end there. I wonder if they had flipped the script, keep women the main thugs and actually make them fkin badass white walker killing thugs!!!! - yup got carried away again

The reason I put a thumbs down on this video because Mr. Desai called ‘Fanaa’ one of the worst films in Aamir’s career. Has he gone completely mad?

If you feel there is something missing in Tumbadd then you may as well stop watching movies.
