Can you make me a pc
I have a question can you try out a mouse it comes with a cool model i got it from a world of tanks roll out collectors edition box it seems very nice to me I wish I could send the name of the mouse or a link to the box but I don’t know how to on iPhone
Hey Zach .
Please do a build of xeon E5 1650v4 it's a killer cpu for the price.
6c/12t
Boost clock 4.0 ghz.
DDR4 support
Ive had people come at me saying a ryzen 3 1200 is to old for gaming but this really proves the point that a lot of older hardware is still very capable no matter the age. cant wait to see what an rtx 4090 is gonna look like performance wise in a decade or so it honestly scares me lol. Great content as usual
Same with the 2500k and the 2700&2700k
Everytime i try to get this cpu its always 40-50 bucks. No one evern wants to go to 20-25
Really? I just got an e3 1270v3 for 32 shipped on eBay. Keep looking on there and there should be some.
Yep, definitely never a good idea to listen to someone who just says an obnoxious blanket statement like that haha. Just refer them to videos like this one!
@@ZachsTechTurf I would be glad to do so
I'm trying to build/buy a budget pc after my ps4 finally died after many years of use. Your videos really help me to understand that I don't need to brake the bank to enjoy PC gaming. Some other channels have you believing you have to speed £1000+ to get any use/fun out of a PC! Thanks for being very clear and informative 👍
i've used a similar cpu for a while now. it's a xeon e3-1231-v3. its on the 1150 socket but is able to trade blows with a 4770 for £30. absolute budget hero.
Back in 2017 I upgraded from a 3570k to a Ryzen based system. I kept the Asus Z77 mobo & ram, sold the 3570k, and purchased a Xeon E3-1230 for $50. I paired it with an RX470, and it was my htpc/couch gaming rig up until about a month ago. I replaced it with an i3-10100F, used H410 motherboard, and a cheap used 16gb kit of ram for under $150.
Whats ur new gpu?
The 1230/1240 V3’s are my budget build staple and there only £20/£25 here in the UK, Cheap H81, 16GB ram kit and you’ve a budget combo for around £60 that can handle most things you throw at it 🙏🏼
That's awesome. How many builds like that have you sold do you think?
Vg budget build and sweet af aesthetics 🥰🥰🤩🤯👍💪. Great job on this build Zach! The USA definitely gets super cheap stuff compared to us here in Australia 🇦🇺….. a cheap SATA SSD is typically going for roughly $65-75USD and about $10USD cheaper on sales. $30USD for a SATA SSD is just nuts imo! 🤩🤯
I've had the E3-1230 pair with a GTX 1050ti before. It was pretty solid. Now that build is sitting on a i7-3770 non K with rx570.
Yep, great pairing for it!
So you swapped a cpu to gain 1% increase? And 7 people thumbed it up, thats actually worrying 😂
@@Tennila2 who knows how much it gained? It was a free untested CPU I received. Only way of testing it was to drop it into a build. Didn't even bother taking it out and wasting more thermal paste
That case is sick,it makes the build look like it’s not even budget🤩
Xeons aw yiss! Woop woop! Love to see it. I'm looking at exploring the E5-1650v3 6 core and E5-2667v3 8 core as under $25 budget options in Workstation prebuilts/boards. They are also quite impressive for the money.
I definitely need to see the results for those!
I've used those xeon v2 and v3 chips for several flips. Cheap and easy to find.
Using a Xeon E3 1270 (equivalent of i7 2600), very happy with it. It idles at 6-7watt and peaks at 60w undervolted at 1.12v. The only "bad" thing with xeons is that they have locked multipliers, if you have a Z77 for example cant add 400mhz overclock to all core boost.
Multi core enchantment feature that works with non K cpus.
Nice vid, returning gamer here. Still on a i5-4670K 😊 upgrading on a budget to am4 platform soon.
absolute bargain got a E3 1220 v3 for £4
Nice what gpu did you pair it with?
I would also like to know😅
I found one for £8
🏀 Very good cpu for the price , It would be really interesting to see a 100$ build to see how much performance can we squeeze out of that really small budget.
Might have to do that next!
I've used E3-1270v3's for a few budget ITX builds in the past year pairing with GTX 1060 and RX 580's.
What really turned me towards these under the 4000 series, was the motherboards a availability with AliExpress's H97 Jginyue ITX motherboards around $50 with nvme and m2 wifi chip slots.
haswell cpus will bottleneck 580s but they’re still a decent option
Ahhh wow that sounds awesome. I might have to try that pairing as well!
I have a bunch of old cases, ram, and power supplies lying around. Planning on building a bunch of reasonably good pcs for people in my community. Being able to sell these at like $150 would make pc gaming a lot more accessible.
I have a Dell precision t5610 with a xenon e5 1650v2 and a gtx 980 picked up the whole system about a month ago for 200$ the budget xenons are definitely worth it I was even able too overclock the xenon to 4.0 all core I'm gpu limited though by a good bit. (you can pick up a 1650v2 for around 30 to 40)
Some of the later and fancier 1150 boards did have a M.2 and NVMe capable slot btw. But obviously those are still way more expensive than any budget 1150.
I got the same CPU but it's a V3 version and I got it for just under 40 bucks during peak pandemic it's a very capable cpu.
v3 is Haswell, meaning they have AVX2. Some games won't start without the IPC improvements and new instruction sets anymore. Which is why I usually recommend Haswell as a minimum these days.
Very nice, what GPU did you pair it with?
@@ZachsTechTurf a HP OEM 1660 Super which I'm guessing is getting bottlenecked by the 1240 V3. But I'm getting great performance in all the games I play.
My 3700x,2070super rig sadly started crapping out. Found a system with an E5-2670 v3 12 core, 16GB RAM paired with a GTX 980 for around $500 local currency. I was very surprised how well the 980 still holds its own in 2023 at 1080p and even some 1440p. If i upgraded the GPU this Xeon can even handle games like Starfield.
Saw your bit on Crucial and immediately jumped down and clicked on the link
ngl, I bought a 2680 v4 combo (w/mobo and ram, and ended up making a build with a gtx 1080 for under 400 buckeroos, honestly it runs pretty good for the most part, able to play Triple A titles at decent fps [over 100 fps] on 1080p High settings
I have a Xeon E3-1245 V3 and it still runs games quite well for its age! 👍👍
Nice budget build
there is something SO satisfying about an ultra-budget build... fer real
I feel the exact same thing lmao
IDK man that build looks so nice, did a great job on it. It's definitely worth the price but yeah I think I'm going to be taking the front panel off of my rigs, screwing in some holed metal and then painting them in some kind of wrinkle paint. Nice and small MATXs for nothing at all that look nice.
yall might want to keep an eye out for my EVGA 750watt B2, going to be posting it to ebay soon downgrading to a 650 smaller PSU. Then after that I'm going to downgrade even further to 550 but right now im running a 780 so 650 is %50 load for it.
I7-3770 and 2600k $25 on eBay often 👊🏼✌🏻❤️
i bought this cpu for $13, 2 months ago and its one of my best purchases ever
i was running a moded dell optiplex 790 with a i5-2500 16 gb ddr3 and a rx 470 4gb and i put in a xeon e3-1270 that i got for $30 its so worth it and even tho i was still cpu bound it held up well enough until i built my new system
Yay crucial ngl I use their ram and they r a good brand, I’ve used a lot of stuff in my builds and never had a problem
Love Crucial!
I use this CPU sooo often! 💸
I have a e3-1230 v3 and rx 570 in a build and it still does pretty well especially since I built the whole box for just a hair over 125
Very nice combo!
I'm looking at a gaming pc with a Xeon E3-1275 V2 3.50 ghz with a 32 Ram, 1 TB SSD and 2 TB hard drive. Would that be good for gaming and editing? First gaming desktop this will be
i bought a 1230 v3 on ebay for $21.20 after taxes and shipping! i have it paired with a gtx 960 4gb and 16gb of ram, with a 120gb ssd and 4tb HDD! using an optiplex motherboard! all together it cost me $175!! i can play basically every game it needs to! coming from an rtx 3060ti and i7 10700 with 32gb of ram! its doing what i need it to do until i can save up my money to build a bomb pc again!! ultra budget builds are the best in my opinion because it takes dedication to get that Price To Performance and it shows what old hardware is really capable of!
Bro I got a pc with a amd a series and needing a cheap upgrade hope this is better.
I have a used Intel Xeon W3680, that has 6 cores and 12 threads at 3.33 GHz, in my retro budget build. It works great. I have a motherboard from a Dell Studio XPS 9100, and 24 G of RAM. It can run pretty good if you have a good Graphics card. I got the Dell XPS 9100 for free, so we are talking very low amount invested, for pretty fair performance.
But the xeon e5 2686 v4
Have done a vide on the Xeon x5690 yet? For 5 dollars more, you get near Ryzen 3600 performance, 6 cores and great bandwidth.
you can grab the e5-1630 v3 with similar clocks for ~ $10 all day on eBay
Wow you're right. Why aren't other people using this one lol?
It would have been fun to see if you could possibly stream with this hardware... I'm thinking that it could be a starting place for a kid on their streaming career. I'm not sure if the performance would be usable, but it might be an interesting idea for a video.
Streaming would probably be tough on this one lol
I've watched your videos for awhile now and really enjoy them. And gives me ideas but in the UK there's a few deals you mention and places I can't get from. Is there a way or help with getting from America to the UK.
Glad to hear it!
Crucial underestimates the maximum memory in the computer you scan for example iMac 2007 it recommended only 4 GiB when it supports 6GiB
Trying to make a build for strictly running batocera Linux, trying to go as cheap as possible and saw these on Ali Express, also gunna go dirt cheap on a Ali Express GPU too 😂, gunna roll the dice hope for the best, just hope i can at least get a decent ps2 emulation, thnx for the input
How about pairing an RTX 4070 to it?
Had a mobo lose xeon support when using latest bios. The board also wouldn't let me downgrade bios. Learned about an emergency flash procedure where there was a mobo jumper ( is it 1995?!!) to remove first and even then it kept failing. Eventually found a random forum post saying it only worked with EXACTLY a 1gb usb drive.
Moral of the story is 10 year old stuff can be a pain!
Wow I've never heard of that before, good to know!
Been doing builds with this CPU for years. It's the absolute best bang for buck on the planet.
What’s the most powerful GPU it could handle? Could it run 1080p on a 6600?
@@zachcanreed8549 for 1080p the 1060 is pretty much as high as you can go but at 1440p & 4K you can probably get away with a 6600 with a minimal bottleneck.
Glad to hear it!
Boy, you're sleepin' on the 5930k and 5960x. Couple them with the "Machinist" Chinese x99 motherboard and you have a VERY capable machine. I've used these mobos 4 times now for various rigs and all have been awesome.
Thanks for the heads up, might need to try that out later
@@ZachsTechTurf I bought x5 i7 5930k for $25 each. 6c 12t. Mobo $75-95. Banger deal.
Fun fact: H61 didn't come with SATA3, and USB3, all of the SATA3 and USB3 on H61 were controlled by an external chipset like ASMedia, so you can't boot from them, no SATA3 SSD as a boot drive, you lose around half the drive sequence read/write performance. (4K random also affects a bit, not that much on cheapo SSD).
A little note: If you can get access to a cheap enough B75, take it, even a 2DIMM one. The sole SATA3 port and a few USB 3.0 will save you a lot. You can finally utilize your SSD at its best.
I have a B75 before with an 860 Evo and the DRAM cache on high-quality SSD really helps the experience. USB 3.0 also helps transfer a large file from an external hard drive (USB 2.0 capped at 480mbps = 60MB/s but I rarely see it reaching 60 on USB 2.0) and other things.
Tried Valorant on an E3-1240 system last year with an old GTX 670. Was still CPU limited even at 1080 High, scored just over 100 FPS avg and about 60 1%
Thanks for sharing your results!
2 years ago I paid $45 for this chip and worked great n my Optiplex.
Great to hear! What GPU?
@@ZachsTechTurf It was paired with a used RX 570 that I bought in early 2019 for $80 used on eBay. PSU is a CX450M.
I have an M5A97 R2.0 mobo with an Athlon II ×4 645 and a 4×2GB kit of ram and a GT730. I am looking to upgrade to an FX 8320 and an RX 570 and a thermaltake smart 500W psu. Would this be a good upgrade path?
Nice little chip
What do you think of the PCI-E cards to allow M.2? Thinking of trying and then maybe pull the M.2 into a better build down the road.
I’m not sure if you’ll be able to boot from it.
hey zach, although there are cpus this cheap, i would tend to opt our for a cheap cpu that supports ddr4 purely due to the faster speed, less power use, although, ddr3 is extremely cheap even for good ram kits and is great for flips
Yea I don't use too much DDR3 these days, but I'll make an exception now and then for content like this video
You put the asthetics in a cheap build but Now I want my pc to look better so I'm going to upgrade it's looks as a result LOL.
XFX Speedster SWFT210 Radeon RX 7600 Graphics Card
Is also a great option, it is unabashed on amazon right now, but it’s selling on eBay for 200-230$ GooD Value Overall
I've got a xeon 1220v2, it's barely holding on for even new titles, but I wanna eek out a few more good years from my motherboard with a xeon 1290 v2 chip from China (idk why China has em but whatever lol)
Also an old optiplex is the best platform for these chips lol.
I'm working on a I-5 4690 build I bought for $25 and a $10 dollar Optiplex motherboard it should be about the same performance, I am going to throw my old rx480 in it. Also discovered our local university has a surplus store went there just to grab some ddr3 ram and discovered a old Optiplex with 16gb of ram in it for 30 bucks which was the same they wanted just for the ram. It had a 500 gb hard drive, USB 3.0 card and quattro 600 in it. They have a shelf 30ft long with used computers and workstations on it along with bare parts. If you have a college in your town see if they have a surplus store it's a gold mine!
The Optiplex board also supports Xeons. Make sure it's the BIOS that does support them, buy an E3 1230 v3 or 1240 v3 and replace your i5. It should sell for about the same as the Xeon cost you. Having a 4C/4T CPU will get you into tons of scenarios where you're at 100% CPU usages and stuff as simple as CZcams playing another video in the background will lock up and make you wait. It's a free upgrade and there's no reason not to.
@@b0ne91Thanks good to know! That surplus place had tons of CPU's including Xeon for cheap.. I can't believe I just discovered this place yesterday.
Cool video as this gives me hope. Was just given a h61 Lenovo k410? as a gift. Already has 8gb of ddr3 and 7200rpm hdd so I just need a cheap cpu, cheap gpu and psu. This will only be built to play 360gen aaa like farcry2 and Borderlands2. Got a Steam deck but want to try desktop pc gaming instead of building a proper $700 1080p modern rig capable of modern games.
Can you teach me how to Get a prebuilt one
Does anyone have any idea if Xeon E3 would bottleneck with an Rx 6600 xt?
does the Asus P8H61-MX R2.0 support 32 nm procces?
Nice!
might I suggest a 2640 v3? Its a cheaper cpu, X99 motherboards can be had for $60 on aliexpress, and supports ecc/non-ecc ddr4. 8 cores 16 thread
The problem is, the $60 motherboards are complete shit. The Machinist K9 and MR9A are the only boards on the lower end of the price spectrum I'd even consider at this point. Everything else has too many issues. I'd go with the $15 2670 v3 too, it has 30% more cache for 300Mhz less, which equates to better performance in games.
On top of that, pretty much every country that isn't the US will end up having to pay tax on top of AliExpress prices. For the entirety of the EU, that's already included. Ebay prices don't have that.
@@b0ne91 yea it sucks that ebay prices are just usually always higher. I think the cpu sells at similar price on both marketplaces, but hunting for a motherboard would be a bit of a task
I like the extra cores, but you're losing half a Ghz on the clock speeds which would translate to slower gaming FPS
@@ZachsTechTurf nah, all core turbo can be fully unlocked and they have like 30MB of cache
I tried this exact combo and it just wouldn’t post. Updated bios and still nothing. Any thoughts?
cold
I'm using Chinese mobo xeon 2620 v3
And Rx 580 8 gb can play most likely all new games
Been flipping pcs with this CPU for years and the 1270 is not too much more.
but can my upgraded dell optiplex use it?
The Ryzen 5 1600 is also a really capable cpu at a similar price.
i7 4970K might just be a better option, the integrated graphics are ok, they can run fortnite on 40-70 fps with low settings, barely any crashes
Hey! Is a Intel Xeon e5 2690 a good option? I found a really good deal for 15 dollars.
Don't do that spend 30. The xeon e5 2686 v4 can beat the ryzen 5600g and the i9 9900k
personally I think that in budget builds the only option is am4 and bying dead platform is just stupid because of no upgradeability. you can start from ryzen 1200 and budget gpu or even from athlon 200ge, and then, if you want to upgrade you don't need to scrap platform, just change cpu, gpu and add ram. I started with ryzen 1200 in my pc. got it for 40$ and mobo for 50, gpu for 70 (r7 370) and 8+8 gb of ddr4 3200 for 70, ssd for 20. then I just changed 1 stick to 16gb and changed gpu to 2060s and this pc is a working and gaming beast for less than 600$. going to buy ryzen 5500, which is much more powerful and sips only 40-50w at aida64 stress test :D and after that I still will have upgrade headroom to 5800x3d
AM4 is kinda dead now too :/
I'm actually planning to get an E3-1270 v3 bevause it is apparently an undercover i7 4790 and pair it with a rx 5600xt or gtx 1660 super😂😂i figure i should get the best gpu possible and save on the cpu.
They do run hot so make sure you have a decent CPU cooler 👍
I have the Xeon E-5 2660 v2 it has 10 cores and goes for about the same price
Yes, so does the E5 2670 v3. But the X79 and X99 motherboards are way more expensive, making them not nearly as budget friendly. Add to that the price of DDR4 and the fact that X99 has such a huge performance jump over X79 that saving $30 on it really isn't worth it and you understand why someone would rather go with E3 v2/v3 CPUs, as they lower the overall budget and mostly play games that only utilize 4 cores anyway.
Very nice
If my current case it the P360A, would this case be a good switch if I like the aesthetics of it?
No, yours is way better. The P360A is a quality case with decent airflow.
@@b0ne91 do you have any recommendations for one with really good airflow and is all white? I really don’t like the black accents on the P360A
@@NaivadSnow If you wanna waste money on a case, get a 4000D Airflow, throw in some ARGB fans with a controller and you're good. If you want a cheap replacement, which I would consider a waste still, get a BitFenix ARGB - they have a few options-
@@b0ne91 not necessarily wasting money if I’m selling my old one. Then I’d be spending $20 max on a new one that I think looks way better. But.. Then again, I forget money is a concern for most people
@@NaivadSnow fractal design got a new focus 2 wich kind of have the benefit of not having psu shroud if believer in the large pool of air in case do help which was maybe your issue whit the phantek 360A whit higer configuration in mind. Did not give a go as been more appealing for me the affordable Nova mesh SE tG from bit fenix quite solid value get job done whitout braking the bank and i kind of love those short path to travel air case ;) SADly can't a bit short for a rx 6700xt monster class gpu i got lol.Driving well whit fan on the gpu shroud a little smaller brother rx 6600xt
Basically an i7 3770, just 100MHz lower. People seem to think these are ewaste at this point, but I find that these people are mistakenly applying their use case to everyone. They think a ton of multi-tasking is the average use case and everyone is trying to play AAA titles. But if you look at the top ten games on Steam, you aren't seeing games like Cyberpunk. Most of the games that show up there will play JUST FINE on a 3rd Gen i7. But people do need to consider that it's an entry level CPU.
And that bottleneck calc is WAY off. You can run a 1070 just fine on these. Even a 1080 gives you a reasonable uplift. Only consider something on the level of a 1080 Ti at 1440p.
will it work to LGA 775
What motherboard did he say would be better
Wow 👍
2:19 oppa gangnam style
all my computer need is new rams and ssd that what it said for me
Id say the 1650 v4 is now the budget king.
would you know what the 2680 v4 would be equivalent to gaming cpu wise?
What’s the song
people saying that xeons are great build, that said i can't wait cheap epyc cpu to trickle down!
Should build a cheap 4k pc
Ryzen 5 1600 is $35 at CeX with 2 years warranty
I got the i3-3220 and gtx 960 2gb instead
Just got an e5 2680 v4 for 8 bucks
10100F is only $59.99
You can ALWAYS spend more money to get a better product
Hey man not sure if you could but, could you do some sort of give away for a pc? A lot to ask for but my xbox recently stopped working.. somthing called green screen of death, thanks for taking your time to read this if you can.
you should not have pick h61 board, as they have no sata 3.0 port. they have sata 3G aka sata 3gbps which is sata 2.0
that could be why your 1% is so low. your ssd is stuck on sata 2.0.
imo is terrible for today's competitive games.
I'm doing a build with mr9a pro, e5 2470 v2, rx580 8gb, 32gb ram. It's a fortnite system for my daughter.
Haha the 4090 is bigger than that case
CAN YOU SAY HI AARIV
25 dollars what.
🗿
cool
bro your store is always sold out u need more pc in-stock
Future me after watching the video is it a i7-4790?
no
The V3 that has the avx with x99 mobo 16 gb of ram on ali express for 90, That said if it were me I d snipe deals on a 10105f or 10100 get the best motherboard you can off amazon warehouse deals pair it with a tuf 550w remembering that 10100 internal memory controller can only handle memory upto a max speed of 2666 ddr4 so dont rush out and 3600 ram a 3000 kit is cheaper as i rarely see 2666 for sale. Graphics card what you can afford 4gb is really the minium of vram you want so 1650 1650 super rx570 rx 580 if your really tight on budget gtx 1050ti 4gb gtx 960s (remembering the gtx 970 is a 3.5 gb graphics card not 4 like its advertised) Case whatever you tastes are personally i like plain cases but i know thats not for everyone.
