  • Meet Brittany, she struggled with over 40+ anxiety symptoms. Here were her symptoms:
Nausea and dizziness 24/7 for days on end
    Feeling faint
    Lethargic
    Pressure headaches
    Hard to take deep breaths
    Chest pain/tightness
    Heart palpitations/flutters for no reason
Rumble of panic beneath the surface. Internal shaking/vibration.
    Tingly fingers/toes
    Fearing the worst case scenario
    Feeling very alone and trapped
    Regular panic attacks
    Ear ringing
    Eye twitching
Blurry vision, unable to focus on TV or screens
Difficulty walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night due to vision issues.
    Visual patterns were triggering.
    Sudden classic vertigo
DPDR. Couldn't look in the mirror/xombie feeling/living in a play house or the set of a movie. Nothing felt real.
    Not present in my body
    Driving made nausea worse
Feeling like I can't do this
Feeling like I'm not strong enough to handle this
Feeling too tired to face the world
Fear of doing things - "I might not make it." "I may faint." "What if I'm dying?"
    Feeling like I'm dying
    High blood pressure
    High resting heart rate
    Menstrual cycle dysregulation
    Cortisol and circadian rhythm dysregulation
    Random excessive shaking
    Social anxiety
Difficulty conversing. Jaw pain with tension from talking.
Unable to handle new responsibilities or perception that someone needs something from me. Overwhelmed.
Inability to relax, let alone experience joy. Numbing of complex, positive emotions such as hope, gratitude or happiness.
Eating feels like a chore or I'd do it in hopes it will magically make me feel better.
    Weight loss
    Random abdominal pain
    Morning anxiety
In constant fight or flight mode. Easily startled, upset, or dysregulated
Typical tools of regulation are not working (journaling, meditation, etc)
Lack of motivation. Doing things because I "should," not because I want to.
Not looking forward to plans or trips but dreading them and hoping to simply survive.
Extremely triggered by health issues, talk of health care, hospital settings, etc. Would feel faint when discussing these.
Wanting a life partner but no longer feeling like I'm able to date or let anyone in or give anything.
Lack of self esteem/pride in myself
Inability to see the bigger picture.
    General intrusive thoughts
    Very depressive thoughts
Here is what she thought she had:
    Likely long covid
    Likely Vestibular Neuritis or Labyrinthitis
    Likely Vestibular Migraine or PPPD

It’s so real how a new symptom can totally cause you to spiral. That has happened to me before, especially over the past month. Like feeling 95% better and then a new symptoms comes out of nowhere and causes a setback.

March 1st, I had my first panic attack. It propelled me into a nightmare of similar symptoms, agoraphobia and losing complete connection with myself. I went from the life of the party to afraid to sit on my patio. I have learned of some legitimate health concerns but even going to doctors became a huge deal to pump myself up to do. I’m still struggling and my adrenals are shot. I hope to plug in, watch more videos and heal. I hope everyone who comments here finds healing as well. We can all get better! We will get better:)

What helps me is to remember that if something is seriously life threatening, like an actual symptom, you're not going to be conscious enough to type/google/talk/walk/roll around on the floor or whatever you're doing lol. I count to 90 seconds and once I'm there it proves to me I'm entirely safe, because anything medically serious would incapacitate you much quicker than that. You can also try running around your house or if you have a yard. Notice all the things you are able to do that someone having a medical emergency CANNOT do. The other thing that helps is paying attention to the fact you can get the same symptoms from anxiety in other situations and it wouldn't bother you. For example, if you run a mile, you will have a fast heart rate, narrowing/dim vision, struggling for air, heavy legs, and lightheadedness/dizziness. Your gym teacher would say that's perfectly normal and a sign of a good work out. It's not bad for your body to feel that way. You just triggered the same response based on your environment. YOU ARE COMPLETELY SAFE. YOUR BODY IS COMPLETELY SAFE. EVERYTHING IS COMPLETELY FINE!

The moment she mentioned DARE & especially Dr. Yonit’s Steady Coach, I felt like cheering happily while shedding tears at the same time! These two are my earliest resources for recovery during my anxiety peak. Dan Buglio’s Pain Free You & Jim Prussack’s The Pain PT are also awesome resources that all lead to the same thing - nervous system sensitization, or whatever term of similar meaning. They may occupy different space, applying arguably unnecessary tools for recovery, but I always believe they lead to the same goal - helping people recover. These are 2nd Generations Mentors I would say as most has earlier mentors or references. & including Shaan’s & team, legend!
Yo man just like her, I came from the dizziness/vestibular space yet stay with one (here!) & yeah true other channels also solidify that main symptoms/pain only initiate the awareness to deal with the sensitize nervous system issue.
I love their resources, I really I do. But having my own reasons, I stay with one.

      @ca7582 Před 7 měsíci +2

It is scary, but it comes back. Apply the acceptance of feeling like shit. Never entertain the content of the thoughts, instead, ignore what they say and stick to your definition of a joyful life, write it down if necessary. Then, just keep on living. You will feel like crap, but it is important to resume life and not staying home brooding. That is the way recovery has worked for me: stick to your definition of life, there are no truths except for the one that you create for yourself, keep living and keep playing. Thoughts and sensations are just that, they are not validators of truth. Just accept their presence but don't control them, debate them or worry about them (although make sure you have anxiety and not something else, go to the doctor and get checked of course).
Keep living and keep playing, might as well, right? You'll recover and get better! ❤❤

      Too much health anxiety

There are many free resources out there, including videos and books and some other programs too. If cost is a factor maybe try to order Claire Weekes book as a start, for example. Hope this helps! Strangely paying money for something helped me really take it seriously so I made the right call for myself to participate in the program.

Disappointing for me, because it was strange to me that it is half a year from April to September and she is already recovered, that she worked on herself and at the end she says that she takes Zoloft antidepressants. It didn't occur to me how quickly, so it's not the real healing with your work and your method, when she takes antidepressants, it means that the drugs helped her get rid of many symptoms.

Medication won’t stop the cycle completely, it gives people a bit of relief but it doesn’t change the way you react to anxiety. Which is something you need to learn to fully overcome. Medication doesn’t do that. That’s why doctors recommend medication and therapy , not only medication.

I know what drugs are and how they work and what therapies are, but as long as there is a drug, it does a lot of work for you. The point here is that I believed in this technique, that people can get over it without antidepressants, not that they take antidepressants and recover themselves with the technique, that is a lie. If she got rid of 40 symptoms in half a year, it would be a great miracle, but she is basically on medication

@@GuadalupeGomez-ms6uocompletely wrong. Not only did AD's stop the occasional panic attack for me but eliminated 100% of anxiety for me. You know how they say we'll never be able to live life without anxiety, well I was able to. I remember the day i went to a therapist and just left after 20 minutes because I simply told her I never felt so good in my life and worry free. What happened after I stopped the AD's is another story. Now in case of Brittany I think she took the right approach, therapy coupled with medication. Shaan's approach is the correct approach to anxiety. Its good that she was thought these coping skills. BUT there is no way for Brittanys to know ATM where her coping skills stop and medication takes over. Maybe its simply that the medication she is taking is WORKING, imagine that. And it works for a lot of people. Now when she starts the tapering process, thats when the REAL work begins as her brain has to find the homeostasis again which is out of balance due to AD's.

    • @alecempire8982
      @alecempire8982 Před 7 měsíci +4

I did therapy and got put on AD's. Let me tell you, I was "cured" in record time. Something like 3-4 months. Not only was I back to normal but better than normal. After 10 or so months on AD's I tried to quit them. Ohh boy. I can't even describe it as the returning of my underlaying condition. That's when the true chemical anxiety, and depression, something I was not even put on Ad's for, hit on top of what I had before. Please do another interview with Brittany after she has been off AD's for at least a year. Then we can talk about a success story.

I will say 8 months in now that it takes a long time to fully recover. There were still times after this where the symptoms would come back. Once you start applying the principles of what shaan is teaching you can recover very quickly, which I did. I was shocked at how much better I felt righr away, but it can take a long timw to fully reset your nervous system. For clarification I was on 25mg of an SSRI which isn't even a typically starting dose and I'm now down to 12mg and feel fine. It can help lesson the volume of symptoms in the beginning I feel but it's not the solution to long term healing. Hope this helps clarify!
