  • The stakes were high when my team, Legendary Duelists, faced off against the Kongvicts. I was sent out to play Azul but couldn't get the win for my team. In this video I go through the replay of that game sharing my thoughts at the time and what I think I could have done better.

    I can't tell you how helpful it is to be able to hear your thinking, out loud! Thank you very much for this video.

    This is quickly becoming my favorite channel. Love the BGA gameplays and replays.

    Thanks for sharing this. A lot of gamers only post their wins on CZcams. It's good to see someone analyze a game that didn't go to plan.
    It seems that you were pretty unlucky in Round 3, which I suppose is a reason not to prioritize start player quite so highly. Although there are rounds where the board is friendly to the player going first, if the board is bad, you've given up a victory point for no real advantage.
    Nonetheless, it seems like an expertly played game by both players. At the end of the day, Azul does have a non-trivial amount of luck. :)

      Absolutely, there is luck in nearly every game and it's possible this was just unwinnable given how well my opponent played. I let them get a lot for free with slow moves so I do think with better play it may have gone differently. With all the feedback I'll look to do more of this in the future, thank you!

    Your opponent was StoneAge#1 player at one point, a very strong player.
    Nothing specific (don't much play the game) but analysing your loses is the best way to learn.

      They are great at many games, Azul included which I didn't fully expect at the beginning!

    Hello.I like your explanation very much. Thank you. I am also a bga player. My bgaID is fxccc. What I want to say is that sometimes luck is also important. You may have lost some luck in this game. In addition, according to the scoring rules of tiles, it will be more advantageous to start from the middle of the desktop. I think many of your decisions are OK, but this game lacks some luck. You lost too many points in the late game because of the placement of tiles, while your opponent gained good points because of the placement of tiles. In fact, the opponent also played well!

    As a kid who loves to play boardgames with and beat his Dad :), I love your strategy guides and playthroughs. A small request: could you keep the running scores in view when you show these BGA playthroughs, without cropping them. It'd make them more exciting! Thank you.

      Absolutely, I didn't realise it was cutting the top when I was recording. Will fix it for future videos!

    Hi! Thanks for your videos! I'm a newbie in this game, i wanted to make a question: why in tournaments Is used the "coloured" board instead of the grey one?

    • @NoWondersTV
      @NoWondersTV  Před rokem +1

      I'm sure there are tournaments that use the grey side too. Most people know Azul for the coloured side so I guess because it's more popular

    are azul tournaments always 2-players?

    • @NoWondersTV
      @NoWondersTV  Před rokem

      Most competitive ones are, but you can find (and host) all sorts of tournaments on Board Game Arena. I'm sure there would be some 3 or 4 player ones as well.
