- Welcome to the North Sea! In this video Max and Doolin have a two player gameplay / playthrough and review of Explorers of the North Sea by Renegade Games and designed by Shem Phillips. This is one game from the "Of The North Sea" trilogy! Have you played any of them? If so, which is your favorite? We may try and get our hands on the others as well!

I love mead... and the vikings theme. Maybe I should play this game.
We have this whole series and have yet to play any of them - this is making us want to get into it! Also, can we talk about 21:11? We could not stop laughing! Good stuff as always guys!
I debated about cutting it but figured it was juuuuuust subtle enough (not much) to pass 😂

Nice playthrough. Have you ever considered to do the Runesaga campaign on the channel? Would enjoy to see it. On a similar note, have you played any of the west kingdom games? Would enjoy seeing those along with the Tomesaga!! Just some ideas! Great games!!
We have actually! Max already owns one of the West Kingdom games (I believe Architects?) and I just purchased Raiders!!
Any more North Sea games coming to the channel? 🌊

I love the West Kingdom Trilogy, and Raiders of the North Sea, but people always say it's not worth playing Explorers and Shipwrights.
But this looks fun to me. I'll have to check out Shipwrights also, since we love playing the West Kingdom Saga.
We're super excited to dig into the other ones! Seems like this one is one of the less popular ones of his, but we still enjoyed it!

Would love to hear others thoughts on this one! I love it, but it might be a symptom of me not playing enough games like it to really compare it to other good ones!
The expansion tile rules are better, imho. You can play with them even without the expansion (it just means you're not blind drawing).
It's a good game, I'm not sure it's a great game. It often can feel like you're doing your own thing at 2p, and not doing enough at 4p. Still, it's one I keep in my collection.
@@jokerES2 that seems like an accurate description. I tried interacting a bit more this game. Our practice game was certainly just us going our separate ways.
Just a quick query. When scoring islands, I thought you only got points for controlled complete islands. You guys seemed to score incomplete islands
