    Of course, you can use your own Test Lenses to accurately measure your own refractive state, to 0.25 diopters.
    This works accurately in engineering-ecience.

    Dear Dr. Guyton,
    Very interesting - thank you!
    I had never seen this detail before.
    I measure a positive state for my normal eyes, by using a Snellen and a plus lens.
    At 20/20, clear vision.
    Then I use a plus lens, until I achive "just blur", on the 20/20 line.
    My refractive state is therefore, +0.5 Diopters, spherical.
    This assures me that my 20/20 is very solid.

    Getting rid of accommodation in this measurement, is extremely difficult.
    I always use test lenses on my eyes for accurate objective measurements of my refraction state.
