Retinoscopy (Ret) is a technique to obtain an objective measurement of the refractive error of a patient's eyes. The examiner uses a retinoscope to shine light into the patient's eye and observes the reflection (reflex) off the patient's retina. While moving the streak or spot of light across the pupil the examiner observes the relative movement of the reflex or manually places lenses over the eye (using a trial frame and trial lenses) to "neutralize" the reflex.

Jack C Copeland first invented streak retinoscope in 1920.
I just want to add few more lines- a semidark room preferably 6 mt or small room of 3 mt can also used for retinoscope with the help of mirror. Working distance lens should always be kept in last compartment of trail frame near to eye .
Thank you :)
Thanks

👍
Optometry academy doing A great job it's an very best and useful videos ... plsz upload more about optometry
Thank you :)
WONDERFUL FANTASTICALLY MADE
Nice video. That's helpful!
Thanks sir it is very helpful video .....
It’s wonderful. Thank you so much sir😍😍
Hats off to the editor... 👏👏👏🙏
Thank you sir :)
is there any way to determine what's the main meridians of astigmatism? what if it's not 90 or 180? what would i see if for example it's 45 and 135? and how i have to find it out? tnx
Very nice ..what about axis is it always at 180 how can we change according pat. Needs ?
Your technique is so good brother by animation
Thank you ☺️
Good presentation.
I prefer a Snellen and Test Lenses, when possible.
♥ your technique
this is the easy explanation that i ever seen before . very helpfull😍

Hiii
thnx for the video.....video on ishahara chart plzz
Hi can you show the optical cross of this I get confused about that
Why should we kept 1.50 working distance on the trial frame while we adding lens
Good video sir :)
Gud explanation 👏👏👏
Nice video,I really learned a lot.God bless u
Thank you
thank you so much
Retinoscope beam light should be thick or thin?
Thankyou so much ❤️
Useful🤩thank u so much
What reflex we will get in high myopic condition
Video on prism cover test plzzz🙂
Thank You very much for this video ❤❤
Terimakasih vedeo ini sangat bermanfaat, terutama bagi seorang profesi, untuk meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan, dan skil...
Betul brow......sangat membantu sekali dan mudah dimengerti....

Sir agr hm cyclo k sath kr rhy to 1.5 ki jaga 2 ka lens rkhain gy? Our end p 2 ko wapis nikal dain gy jaisy ap n 1.5 ko اینڈ p remove kiya?
The answer is: jac copiland😊.. And thanks very much for this useful vedio✨💚
Thank you 😊
Thnkuhh for the this vdo
Tnx a lot 🥰
Nice video 👍
More helpful video sir
Thank you very much, Sir.
Thank you 😊
Sir how??? we can do retinoscopy in the patient have squint?????
Tqsm
dr what about type of lens (both sphere or mixed sphere and cylinder) ??
Sphere and cylinder both
Sir in this method we needn't minus working distance from whole power isn't it sir ?
Well explained 😇
Thank you 😊
Wow thank you so much for this video😍👌
Thank you 😊
It's very useful to me, tq 🥰🥰
Thank you so much 😊
Well done
Helpful👍🏻
Bt while doing it's not clear and very visible like shown in video
.We sometimes get orange, light green white glow in cataract patient's..So we get confused wether we have to look at central or peripheral glow for neutralization
Amazing
Video. Probably one
Of the most helpful videos I have ever seen
Thank you so much ☺️
बहुत बेहतरीन sir
Thank you sir ☺️
Sir u explained it very well, plz upload oll topics 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you 😊
Very much helpful😊
Thank you
Adepoli...i can udestand it
Thx sir
Kindly describe with minus lens also.
Copeland
Hey do u do optometry
@@richardotieno7455 Yes little bit
Nice Video Concept Describes 🙂
Thank you :)
Sir Can u plz neutralize with minus lens bcz understanding some more???
Wonderful ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you 🙂
Nice video & more informative
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much
😊
How to guess the Axis earlier??
Jack C.Copeland ,1920 invented the streak retinoscope
Horizontal to replaced asvertical meridian and vice versa. 180` refers horizontal meridian and is achieved by horizontal streak Am I!?
really super ......🤗
Thank you :)
sir,the retinoscope'light is in the vertical, why it's saying it moved in horizontal meridian ?
When light is vertically placed, at that time we are actually doing retinoscopy for horizontal meridian.😊
@@OptometryAcademy but sir, if the light is placed horizontal meridian means we have to move the reflex in vertical meridian right?
Yes 👍
Sir working distance minus karene ka tha na
New pricsription +1.50+2.00*180 hoga
Nice
Sir why you take cylindrical lens for vertical neutralisation?
Because, this is spherocylider retinoscopy. In this first meridian is neutralize with sphere lens and the other meridian is neutralize with cylinder lens
What if the cyl was not there at 180° how then can Know the axis?
What sort of reflex can be seen if patient is with oblige n bioblique Astigmatism?
*informative video👍🏻💯
Nice presentation 😃😃😃🙏🙏🙏
Thank you sir ☺️
Thankooo so much
😊
