Today I am giving a user review of the new Behringer RD-9 Analog Drum Machine.
The RD-9 is an affordable re-issue of the Roland TR-909 all-analog circuitry.
    With some updated functionality.
This is not another typical audio comparison video, nor tutorial.
    How does it sound?
Whats the design, construction quality and workflow like?
    Do I like the features?
How does it compare to other analog drum machines currently available?
I'll break it all down for you right here, right now.
    0:00 Introduction
0:42 Build Quality + Connections Overview
    2:52 Sounds + Features Overview
    6:25 Other Similar Drum Machines
    7:25 Summary of Final Thoughts

I ordered mine in June 2021... And... I'm finally about to receive it... TOMORROW... It's 2am30 I cannot sleep... I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve who dreamed during one year about his absolute ultimate dream of toy and cannot wait the morning...
I'm 42 yo, just came out hôpital yesterday from big surgery and today when I received the delivery email for tomorrow, I swear I cried...
I mean... Life is so hard sometimes... This email was like a gift from God to me.
Thanks a lot for your video!

@@lesbianmustardbottle957 I'm fucking fell in LOVE with it.
      I mean SERIOUSLY
The sound of every instrument is so good........
You cannot reproduce that with an digital machine.
Analog drums are really something unique, it's pure it's punchy it sounds rich and full, but more than that, I repeat myself, it sounds RIGHT.
And even the digital part of instruments (hi hats cymbals...) are really really top notch.
Plus the analog filter is very good, all the new features are so good... This is a dream of real 909, with crazy new good features, MIDI...........
I swear this is always the first machine of my rig I turn on and play every time....
      I fuckin love it.
We can think what we want about Behringer, but now they are giving us the machines we were dreaming since so so long, for a crazy good price, in a good quality.
I mean, why all the pioneer brands don't do that?? This is what we wanted since decades!!

    • @alexwestconsulting
      @alexwestconsulting Před 2 lety

@@NTRSN-Archive some people like to work one way, others another. politics and potential intellectual property infringement aside, the new behringers are all great. i own many of them. but they are also decidedly backward looking, retreading what has already been done. the elektrons are very future looking. in terms of value, you could argue that, for example, these new behringer drum machines are great value, and they certainly are relative to what you would pay for the real thing, but people are getting caught up in this limited perception of what value means more than actually considering the returns. each of these new behringer clones are rather one-trick ponies, good as they are at their respective trick. but they certainly are not versatile. the elektron gear is very much geared to get people making songs, each with very good onboard sequencer. productivity is top of their benefits. I could make a full song on my elektron analog rytm alone. same with my digitakt. same with my analog four. these new behringer drum machines can't do much more than repeat some basic loops. and their synths can't do much of anything by themselves. i've got over a dozen of the new behringers and they are great, but also among my least used gear.

I do like the hands on controls with these units, I have my MC-307 combined with my Vermona DRM for analog weight but programming the groovebox takes so much effort for precise sounds. I bought this out of spite and absaloutely love it! The spite being when I was young I salivated over the Roland, never could afford one! Well now, “Up yours!!!” Lol, If you want to make it interesting add PO’s to it. I have tons of top of the line, but adding an office sound with chords from the Factory is just useless but silly fun! Are you still using your RD9? I got mine early this year and then got my first MPC a few months later. So I’ve been focused just on thoroughly learning the MPC. And now I’m wondering if I should get the RD9out of the closet and see if it makes sense to use it with the MPC.

I'm on a mission to get my Yamaha DTX E-set to send individual analog pad signals into my mixer into my DAW. The closest I got to this was via midi but the midi signal is too inconsistent. My question is...will this machine accept the midi input signal from my DTX and separate each signal to then send the analog individual outs?
