I'm surprised you didn't mention how Zack is the most likable thug-for-hire working for an geocidal energy company.
It’s like what Charlie cox says.
Thugs are in it for the money while henchmen are in it for the cause.
The cause being represented heroic for the company for propaganda purposes.
So Zack technically is a henchman until the events of crisis core and he starts to question everything however he sticks by his morals and that’s to help people and those morals and more importantly the people he’s connected to.
Both of these things prevented him from going dark side.
But for me I feel the best thing was is that people can be redeemed.
Genesis went dark side, Angeal went dark side because of that.
But it was Zack’s unwavering belief and love in Angeal that brought Angeal back to the side of good.
Angeal believed he was a monster that he was evil and he did monstrous things to in his mind to help justify the pain he felt including doing these things to Zack to try and push him away.
But it never worked, that spark of unwavering belief in Angeal made him realize that he wasn’t alone that he wasn’t a monster.
So when Angeal come back and saved Zack and Cloud and sacrificed himself.
This inspired Genesis into doing the same thing.
Genesis finally understood and realized what being a real hero is.
He was straight up forgiven by the planet’s avatar Minerva and the gift of the goddess is actually a number of things but one of those is actually forgiveness.
It’s also that materia and a dumb apple but it’s basically forgiveness and because he realized his hubris he was forgiven and given a second chance at redemption.
He’s still out there doing stuff, he’s flat out a guardian of the planet, I suspect he’ll become a important part in the remake going forward.

damn it had me laughing but with a WTF at the same time, she could have been called anything from pre awakened goddess* to open heart innocent I didn't expect that one
*extended lore basically shows she knew everything that was going to happen like end game dr strange and after death becomes something like thanatos/controller of the life stream's defense system.

Dirge of Cerberus is a game that had alright gameplay, and a terrible story that feels like an adaptation of one of the developers 12 year old kids ff7 fanfic.
@@joshrobins130 nah, no worse than anything else super weird and old. Ever actually just watched the cutscenes from and old game? Silent hill, resi evil, legit any ff game, those stories are insane and inane. That was basically the entire charm, a fun game, crazy nonsense story and cutscenes, when you take either one of those out the game is far less memorable. For example, a ton of remakes that try to readapt the story to be more current and grounded, and the game is just kinda generic storywise and sure the gameplay is fun, but it already was, now it looks better that's nice but the story is meh bland not meh insanely awesome and unfollowable.
Gackt is just a Final Fantasy character who got reverse isekai'd to our reality.
Crisis Core for PSP was actually the first Final Fantasy game I ever played. ...I was not expecting that ending.

The OG FF7 was my first FF game back in the 90's and yeah that ending will always make me cry.

I somewhat knew how it would end, but this game still made me cry my eyes out :(

I don't know if the guy narrating writes the script as well but I had to give a chef's kiss to those callbacks, lol. Crisis Core sent me on a brief but very intense Gackt obsession spree back around 2010 😂. Him and Hyde from L'Arc-en-ciel...and VAMPS...and from his solo career.

Also I know about the Vocaloid, I have an old MMD video of The Blazing Samurai of Ark, Bakunetsumaru and a pair of Zako Busshi from SD Gundam Force dancing to Camui Gackpo - Dancing Samurai.

This was my first Final Fantasy game so I didn't know how it would end.
I was devastated when I beat the game, still haven't fully recovered.

First time I played it I didn’t even know the story of ff7 so that ending crushed my soul I was fully expecting everyone to make it back and live happily. The limit breaks at the end made me feel like I was losing him piece by piece. So yeah, definitely still not over it
The "accidentally use a potion because you thought it was the dodge button" is extremely accurate. I've been making it a point to use more items in games in order to get out of the hoarder mentality, but it still kills me inside every time I reflex press circle to dodge only to waste a potion.
Man I love this game. So freaking emotional 😭 Zack was a true hero
