A villager giving you a gift or a reaction seems to be the same as one wanting to move out.
No villagers will move out on KK days (Saturday) or if it's their birthday.

Yup I had this happen to me just now I was wanting to move Raddle out and he had a thought bubble and I was like omg FINALLY!! and then he gifted me a bomber jacket of an extra he had 😑🙄😒😤 like dude I want you to move out so bad!!! 🥲🥲
your will to live decreased more and more every time the wrong villager wanted to move
It's way easier to time travel forward 2 weeks from the date the last villager moved in, as you'll always find someone with a thought bubble either on that day or the following few days. Plus you never have to close the game completely, which saves time, you only have to save the game and exit to the main menu AFTER changing the time/date. This has worked for me 100% of the time without issue, and still works as of just a few days ago. You won't necessarily always find a thought bubble exactly 2 weeks later, but you'll always find one within a few days of that date.
What if we don’t know the date the last villager moved in?

It didn’t work and I wasn’t sure why until I was told if a villager tries to give you a reaction nobody will move out that day

This is so overly complicated trying to remember if you need to go forwards or backwards, etc.
A much quicker way is to time travel 1 month and 1 day forward (make sure it's a weekday, if it's a weekend, go past it to the next monday), check for bubbles. Keep going forward til someone has a bubble. If its the wrong villager, close the game, switch your time to 4:59am on the same day, go through morning announcements, close the game, change the time to somewhere around 1-3pm (which is when most of your villagers are awake and out of their houses) and look for the bubble. If its the wrong person again, close, 4:59am, announcements, close, 1-3, look, and just rinse and repeat!
A bubble will not show when KK is there, or on a birthday, etc. Which is why some days you weren't getting bubbles.

@@shelli7990 Everyone probably knows this by now, but move out is almost 100 percent RNG. The only time it isn’t is if you have too many of one personality on the island, then those personalities will likely think about moving more often. Even then, that is totally randomised. You literally don’t have to do much to cycle through the days.
Skip a month if you want, then just keep cycling through five days (like, start on Monday, slowly get to Friday, then cycle back to the same Monday date), that way your villagers won’t even notice you’ve vanished for days and months at a time. Eventually unless you have really poor luck, the villager you want to leave SHOULD ask.

OmG I had the exact same problem when trying this out! My goal was to kick out Elvis but Merengue and Cousteau were going back and fourth with the thought bubble and today I finally kicked him out! It took me about 13 tries to kick out Elvis and it was VERY painful but very worth it. Thank you (and Mara) for teaching me how to kick a villager out :)

This really helped, my thing is collecting their photos fist then kick them out. I had three photos already so either one of them could’ve left.
At first I did it wrong but then I got it to work finally gonna get someone new, I’ll miss you mitzi
Puddles and Mint are my girls lol I love them, they both gave me their photos on the same day I was so excited!!
It would be nice if these step were written down in description cuz it’s very hard to keep track of when to do what 🤔 especially since you have to avoid saturdays where no one will ever want to move 😕
What happens if you finally get the right villager and say they can move out.. Do I go back to my own time again and will they be in boxes on my own time?? Or do I need to keep the date of the thought bubble?? Also if I set my switch to a different date than it really is... Will the next day (after 5am) just be the day after the day I went to?
Update: Don't time travel back again unless you already have a NEW villager living there or else you might risk a plot getting auto filled.

Wack them with a net until they are mad this also works with pushing until they are mad 😡 . Then talk to them until you can’t and boom!

You should try Viva Pinata on stream. If you liked animal crossing, you’ll love viva pinata. The game has lots of cute animals and charming people to love. And the progression system is fantastic

Yes! Time travelling doesn’t affect any progress you make unless the plot is already empty. Then a random villager will automatically move into the plot and going back won’t change it
