Raymond was one of the first villagers to move in.

i'm new to new horizons too (it's really fun). my first island had one of the first 2 villagers be the red sheep but I reset cause I messed up my clock time. then i searched up the red sheep and found out that he was Dom and it was one of the new villagers. was he rare?

you left out the campsite method of finding your specific villager. This method can actually be super successful as if your island is missing a certain personality then it’s a 60% a villager of that personality will show up. So you can easily skew the odds to be in your favor and then time travel over and over until you get the villager you want.
How do I do this? I just got the game for Christmas!
@@loreleii2173 time travelling so like the viv said its a 60% chance to get a character with a personality type you don't have and a 40% chance to get a personality type you already have, you need the campsite for this too so just go to your date and time in settings and skip a week and see if there's a villager, if not skip to 3 days and repeat, recommend seeing a video this is just what I remember
my biggest anch flex is that Raymond was my first campsite visitor

Did you know you can reset the campsite if the visitor picks a villager you don't want to kick out. When they get to the name, check it to see if it's the villager you want to kick out. If it's not, go out of the game. Go back to the campsite, talk to the visitor, play the card game. Keep doing this until you get your desired results.
Well, since your first campsite villager is a smug , you have a one-time 1/34 chance to get Raymond. Doesn't that make him a lot less rare? (doesn't make me love him any less, he was my first campsite villager)

Glad to see this guide :0 I went villager hunting with only 19 NMTs, hunting for Knox or Sterling, but found Raymond on my final ticket. I never thought the odds were that low for him, though it explains why I hardly run into cat villagers and only ran into 1 cub villager in my hunts. Glad I went for Bluebears amiibo card, as she’s my fav too xD

Pecan has been my absolute dreamie ever since Wild World, she was my very first photo! I have very fond memories with her and I'm hunting her atm.
My other top villagers are Peanut, Rosie, Raymond (got him in my first week at the campsite~), Diana and Shino ^^
My biggest flex has been having Marshall, Judy, Merangue, and now I just got Dom all through the campsite. I also have my old favorites Whitney, Wolfgang and Rosie. Then just for fun I have Bea, lol. I can’t afford all those amiibo cards out there, so I just rely on luck. If I ever get Ione to visit, I’ll let Bea go though :)

There's also the new Legend of Zelda Loft Wing amibo figure too .FYI used to have Audie and Judy . Raymond showed up in my campsite while I was using the campsite method to get Pinky, Pekoe and Blanche.
I think the easiest way to get specific villagers by far is to just trade with other players.
If you get a popular villager you don't want by chance then you can trade them away to someone else and use the profit from that trade to get one you're looking for
My biggest flex is that Raymond and merengue were my 2 original villagers. All of my villagers are top 50 🤩
Early for telling you HOW much you help me
On the topic of empty number slots, there are 73 old villagers currently not in New Horizons, and 8 new villagers and 14 if you counted the new NPCs. Meaning that there are 87 usable slots out of the 103 unused. Hmmmmm... maybe they'll bring back all the old villagers and add some new ones in an update perhaps?
I once had Raymond in my campsite but I didn't take him because I already had a smug villager and I think at the time I was looking for a cranky villager so I let him leave lol. I forgot that I was hunting and accidentally let the plot auto fill and Dobie came to live in my island and I love him so much.
I didn’t know how rare he was and found him at around the 250 ticket mark. Luckily as I’ve seen people take a lot longer to find him!
I was villager hunting for now an hour and the moment I clicked on ur video and went to an new island I got Dom- ur video is giving me luck :D
u forgot to account for campsite villagers, which aren’t 100% random. if u don’t have certain personality on ur island the campsite has a 50% chance of giving u a villager of that personally. so if u have no smugs, u could theoretically hunt for raymond that way

I remember, when I started Animal Crossing and I finally got the campsite Raymond joined my Island. He is my absolute favorite, so me having this type of luck- I died.

Fell in love with Shino when I saw her on my third Nook Miles ticket (thought she was a boy), and was a little disappointed I had just asked Fauna to move in because that's already two deers. Also was pretty upset after because I kept getting Judy (used like 10 tickets and kept getting her nonstop). Aside from that I've gone back to my island without Raymond and Zucker, who I've been told are super rare.
Honestly I'm out here just trying to get Bones and Sasha (who I hear is rare as well).
I can say I have the rarest villager on my island now! 🤣 Thanks for all this info! I knew people were hyped about Raymond, but I had no idea he was THAT rare!

They're both living on my island now and I love themm. I'm still looking for my beloved Twiggy, but I don't have enough miles tot go villager hunting
My guess before watching: probably Raymond, because he is insanely popular, like in the top 3 most popular villagers and there’s over 20 cats in the game, so running into Raymond specifically on a villager hunt is kind of slim, plus there’s like 30+ other species too so that will also decrease your chances a lot more.

Wow, I am new to AC and I got lucky and got Raymond off village hunt, and now after watching this I am surprised that he is that rare. Yay for getting him.
It should actually be 5 * 23/382, not 1/5, the actual odds of getting at least one cat in a pack is ~30%.
I’m mostly happy with my villagers so far, started with Genji and Pashmina, got Bluebear from my first mystery island then Bob and Marina auto filled then I got Raymond at the campsite and then got Tia from my 3rd mystery island but then I got Allie via auto fill, and I’m not a fan.

you missed out the fact that your first two villagers are guaranteed to be jock and sisterly and the first campsite villager is guaranteed to be smug (which Raymond falls under as he is smug)
This makes Judy the actual rarest villager (generally) since she does not come under any of those personalities and out of the villagers added in New Horizons that aren't jock, sisterly or smug she has the largest pool of villagers in her species.
Doesn't matter anymore though since they are making amiibo cards of these villagers in a few days so the rarest will just be any cat villager other than Raymond, Katt, Kid Cat, Rudy or Stinky.
Now those villagers are gettable ceomg now u can get them! your dream came true!!!

Pay scapper 1000 nmt for him and never look back. He is stylish af. One more way is just when u come in to the game u get 2 random villagers. Just reset it until u get awesome villager before u actually start
(Watching this in 2022) I share an island with my sons. My oldest wanted Raymond so bad (I did too tbh). I found him on a mystery island THE DAY I also found him in an amiibo pack.
I got bam and Katt as my first days and so far 3 move ins are Egbert, lolly, and Audie. I like bam but not a big fan of katt
I bought a 91 pack from amazon and what funny is I got a lot that wasn't shown on it like bluebear (surprisingly) and a lot others

You guys get five cards in the amiibo card packs? We only get three per pack where I live. My sister has the Sanrio pack so I’ve invited Chelsea to my campsite. I’ve gotten Phoebe without inviting her, which I’m pleased about
Hope we get cards of the new villagers soon. It's gonna be a pain hunting for Raymond when I get a second Switch and start my cats only island.
You have a higher chance of getting him through the campsite method. Make sure you don't have o smug villager. This will give you 60% chance of finding Smug villagers in your campsite. Time Travel 15 days forward. Check Isabelle's mourning announcement. If she says there's a visitor at the campsite go check it. If not then time travel forward one day at a time until there is a campsite visitor. If it's not Raymond Time Travel another 15 days forward. Rinse and repeat until you get Raymond. FYI you can pick witch villager he kicks out. Once you get to the name suggestion part, check to see if it's the villager you don't want. If it's not the right one, go out of your game . Then go back to the campsite. Keep talking to Raymond and playing the card game until he mentions the name of the villager you want to kick out.

Raymond is easier to get through the campsite. There are fewer smug characters and so just have all personalities on your island except smug and it increases the chances the campsite visitors are mostly smug.
I got Reymond once when I was on a villager hunt for Dobie 😭 didn’t get Raymond tho because I don’t want him despite him being a fan favorite lol
was trying to find apple for a friend and raymond ended up in my campsite 😅 so i had to timetravel to get another villager to move out and jeep looking for apple hahaha

I wanted Alfonso back as soon as he left, so villager hunt I go! I had 0.32% chance of meeting him again if I redeemed and saved enough tickets. Currently on my 70th island, but there were already a few alligators that showed up so I must be close! I've been bringing his framed picture during the trips xD Hoping on getting him soon!
