He's so well informed. I like that about him.
Discovered HIM, The Rasmus, The 69 Eyes and, Apocalyptica about a decade ago. I love the sound of each of them and have expanded my ideas of metal music because of them. I plan to be able to meet each member of the previously mentioned band soon. These artists of metal have gotten me through death and loss. Their music gave me a place to shelter in and heal up the wounds. Thank you is a statement that I send laced with gratitude, passion for their music, and blessings for all.

HIM has some good songs. But they were never „satanic“. They just played around with the imagery and lucifer and 666 and so forth. But once they were considered big, radios pretty much sucked up HIM, gave them more and more airplay and HIM basically became pop metal pretty fast.

If you were ever going to check out the band on another artist's shirt, this would be the time. Fallen would be a good album to hear first. Fields of the Nephilim is the most unfortunately overlooked band ever. Even their 80's output still sounds fresh and ahead of the curve.

Ville an HIM did not follow that style just laughed at satanism. And then religious People who take their music serious and was scared from every sign of evil in their music. Just perceptive and open minded People Like them and understand that music... Actually their music is about every one of use but not everyone can understand it. We all have feeling of that transcendent and some attitude towards God. And for me Ville all the time Express that! that raw feeling of life and that transcendent and that passion, that searching of meaning and purpose of life. 💓 Love you... They are Best artist, Important personalities of our centry. One day People Will remember.

Kinda late to answer but it was mostly cause of paganism. Here in northern europe there is alot of resentment against christianity cause of how they forced out our religion from the region out in a very violent fashion. So when a bunch of black metal dude's very anti christianity came out preaching the word of satanism and paganism it came to a boiling point of one burning a church in a form of protest and the other people copying that first dude.

Ville Valo is talking about satanism when he means devil worshiping. Two different things. Devil worshipers actually believe Satan is a dark deity, whereas to Satanists, Satan is merely a symbolic figure representing the beast, the animal that is human. Satanists don't have rituals as it makes no sense to not believe in a deity like God or Satan and then have rituals devoted to them, whereas Devil worshipers do. The church burners were Devil Worshipers, not Satanists. To nitpick. It's the Finnish way. :D

He's not religious but he's not a satanist either. He would metaphorically use 666 in reference to knowing a girl is bad for him yet still not being able to help loving her. He's not actually inviting the devil into his heart.. He's referring to a girl he loves as being wicked as the devil and knowing she's willing to hurt him and theyre bad for each other and probably only going to hurt each other yet he still can't help but love her. Which even Christians end up in relationships like that. Christians aren't perfect people and the ones who claim to be need to read the Bible more clearly. Alot of metafors in the Bible as well everything you see can't be taken at face value all the time.

I like your content first of all emo didnt begin in the 2000s , it began in the 1980s with DC hardcore and revolution summer bands like Rites of Spring and Embrace. It was short for "emotional hardcore" ( as in hardcore punk) Another thing, no disrespect to you but christianity and rock n roll have been apart of each other since the early days going back to its gospel roots . Those like Rosetta Tharpe are examples of that . But even as you said there are "Christian themes" through out a lot of the music. Even bands like black sabbath had that in their music. That said. There are all kinds of different bands who whoe car their religion. I dont see you goijg in on athiest and satanic bands or non Christian bands for their messages that reflect their relgion . But you single out Christian bands to do that with. What ever relgion pne ia in will refect in what they write regarless. You see this with Merlyn Manson and even his infernal majesty. The latter might not be as blatant but you know what they eliwve by tyeir imagry and spng titles- you arent deni ixjng them for their beliefs . If a Christian rock band, just like other bands dont want to be in a niche "Christian scene" thats their choice. Some bands just come up around other bands fhat dont believe the same thing.
