  • Air-side economizers are mechanical and control systems intended to utilize cool outside air to reduce building energy consumption. It is required by building energy codes such as International Energy Conservation Code, ASHRAE 90.1, and California Title 24.
In this video, Slipstream's Kevin Frost explains economizer concepts, describes controls setups, and shows you when and how to apply air-side economizers.

    Advanced Control Strategies: Part 4
Did you know that advanced building controls and energy management strategies could result in an average of nearly 30% energy savings? This video is part of a series on how to utilize advanced controls to capitalize on energy savings and ensure buildings run at peak performance.
Slipstream was awarded a grant by the Department of Defense (DoD) Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) to develop a comprehensive training resource on advanced building controls and energy management. Our project partners include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Texas A&M University and TRC. For more about the project and to view the full training course, visit slipstreaminc.org/estcp
