    My husband had a vasectomy reversal this February 2024. We only paid $1900 for the procedure and we visited the reversal clinic in Oklahoma. The surgeon had done over 10,000 of the surgeries and has a very high success rate! We are entering cycle 3 of trying. It can take up to 4 months for everything to return back to normal. We live in Florida so we drove 12 hours and got an Airbnb close to the clinic. We already have two children and are going to try for number three and four :-) ❤

    Thank you so much for the information. My husband and I have 4 kids currently and we miscarried twice in a two year span. The last miscarriage was with twins. We were devastated, I was so emotional and asked my husband to please get a vasectomy. He got the procedure and kept telling our friends he was going in for a surgery lol.
    We now think that we should have waited until we were not in such a bad headspace because now we are seeking advice on reversing the procedure.
    He is 46 now and I am 36 so I hope it is not too late for us.

    The discussion on whether vasectomies are permanent or reversable are here and there. Some say it is permanent (mostly men), whilst a number (usually women) claim it to be reversible. I'm having trouble which side to believe.

    Hello I watched the video very well
    I have only 2 questions
    1.Is it possible for Koreans to have surgery there?
    2.If that is possible, would you do the surgery yourself?

    why doesn't aspiration yield a lot of sperm? can it be stored/frozen between aspirations for a larger uterine injection?

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  Před rokem

      Logical question but needs minimum of 5 million motile Sperm to have reasonable chance of success with IUI (which is 10-20% per try). Just don’t get that much with aspiration and would have to consider another aspiration for each IUI.

      It is not reversible. Either he lied or it is just normal part natural cause of missed period. Or like she said, the vasectomy failed and there were no semen analysis followup to confirm it was successful.

    • @bekgeorge9672
      @bekgeorge9672 Před 10 měsíci +2

      @@uzor123that’s not accurate. There is something called late recanalization, and although uncommon, it means that the tubes have been able to reconnect and sperm was able to leak out. I personally know someone who this happened to 12 years after vasectomy

    My husband had a vasectomy went 3 months later didn’t get cleared so he was supposed to go back a second time he didn’t and we just assumed he was good because months passed and i didn’t get pregnant but 8 months after the vasectomy i got pregnant, lost it and the dr checked had my husband get a semen analysis and it showed no live sperm, the dr can’t explain how I got pregnant and we need answers to what happened how did i get pregnant if his results show no sperm cells.

      The man is supposed to ejaculate at least 30 times after the procedure or there could still be sperm in there. Maybe he just had some swimmers still in there and needed extra time for them to clear out before he was cleared that could be why he’s showing no sperm now.

    Why nobody talks about cryopreservation of sperm?🤦🏻‍♂️ Why do we need all these complicated reverse procedures while we can just freeze the sperm in advance? Is not it the most logical and obvious move before getting sterile?

    Are there any stats available on the chances of getting a woman pregnant after making a esperm extraction?
    Also, How many times can I repeat an sperm extraction with a non so invasive technique?

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I work with reproductive urologists that help with this procedure. They are the experts but it’s my understanding the goal is to get enough sperm needed with one extraction - the more times it’s done, the risk of scarring and lower sperm production. Stats for success are based on IVF success rates for the couple as a whole - age, fertility diagnosis, lab success, etc.
