The amount of effort that went in to this is insane.
Anyone who has ever made a video knows.
That printer weighs an effing ton!
The drone flying.
The vlogging.
The photography.
The processing.
The printing.
Nuts work ethic. Well done 👏
Ha. Funny, thats often what I think watching your videos. Whilst editing this one I did actually consider you would have probably parked the car 3-4 times to film it from every angle.
Thanks though mate. I appreciate it and it means a lot.
of course, now we all want very much to see a Thomas + Adam "colab" doing "outdoor printing" !! ASAP..
As a young man (many years ago) I wanted to do just what you did, photo, quick edit and print all from the back of a van in the Namaqualand during the flower spectacular that happens once a year for a very short period of time and sell the prints there and then as it’s a very popular amongst many people, particularly tourists.
It’s a pleasure to watch you at work, enjoying yourself (I hope) and very inspiring, thank you 🙏 Merry Christmas.
You did an amazing job with hauling all of this equipment. The question is did it survive the tumble going down hill and would you recommend the printer for folks living in earthquake county? 😂😂 By the way, the print was beautiful. My hat is off to you my friend.
As someone who can't even carry myself up a hike, I'm very impressed. Massive props for the creative way of encouraging physical printing!
Thanks. That’s exactly the point.
To see you with your print in your hand contemplating the landscape that you just photograph is priceless. Wonderfull moment.
Thanks Eric, that’s exactly what this was all about. Glad you enjoyed it.
This was such an original idea, I couldn't stop smiling as I watched! I agree. A picture, isn't a photograph, until it is printed! You created the ultimate, Polaroid!
I'm not sure that there has ever been a more enthusiastic photographer EVER. The vlog is totally inspirational, adventurous and entirely preposterous.
It looked as though you were dumping a body on the hill. I was also looking forward to you riding the cart down the hill. I hope all of the equipment wasn't damaged too badly.
Fantastic video as usual, Adam. Thanks for your dedication to the art of photography.
Ha ha. Thanks so much. I told my wife that I did pass a few people heading up on the main track, she said they’d have thought I was burying evidence.
Hope this video gets thousands of views as the effort you put into it certainly deserves it! Really enjoyable watch as always. There is definitely something very rewarding about seeing your images in print and up on the wall at home.
Appreciate your support. Thanks.
Fantastic result from a beautiful location. The clip conceals how steep and rough that path is, amplifying the reward for effort invested. Full credit for the final print, truly stunning. At least gravity was on your side on the way down…….
Many thanks! I did have to fight the urge to try and ride the cart back down.
Well that was a crazy endeavour, you have my full respect! Love your dedication to the art of photography.
You are certifiably bonkers, Adam! The thought of dragging my P1000 up a hill gives me back strain just thinking about it. I hope the printer survived (or if it didn't, that Canon replaced it.)
Ha. Thankfully I didn’t have to have that conversation with Canon.
Bravo! A print is the inspiration! Loved the piece and your excitement, I shared it with you.
As someone who doesn't make videos whilst out in the landscape, even I could appreciate the effort and struggle you went through to make this work, making that image all the more special. Great work Adam, this is an encouraging story to push others to get out and enjoy their landscape photography!
Great and inspiring video Adam, thank you, bet the journey down was even harder? I hope you and those you love have a wonderful Christmas and may I wish you all a happy and healthy new year. Terry.
Has to be my favourite CZcams video for a long time. Maybe it heralds a new series one man and his printer, 😂😂😂
Well done totally inspirational.
Wow, thanks Andy. Greatly appreciated.
EXCELLENT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,just a breath taking video. I could feel the dedication and passion through this video.
Thank you very much! Appreciate your time.
Loved the whole concept, thanks for sharing.
I bought a Canon Pro200 on the back of one of your videos and I have to say it's probably the best investment I've made in recent years - so thank you Adam and keep up the great work!
Great to hear! Thanks
Just bought my first Pro series Canon printer - a Pro-300. I'm absolutely in love! A3+ size is just perfect and holy crap the quality is amazing. I regret not buying one sooner, but I'm so glad I finally did!! Thanks for the great videos - you've been a big help with choosing this printer..
Well done! This truly inspires a lot of us.
Great video Adam! I thoroughly enjoyed your enthusiasm for printing, and now printing on site. Your enthusiasm for printing has led me to start printing my own photos. And I do take a small portable printer with me on my journeys, but nothing as extreme and big as you did. And a great photo to accompany your journey today 👏🏻
That’s brilliant to hear. Thanks so much.
Tks so much for the content and the lessons you give...you motivated me to go on photography again... something i had lost interest for quite some time. Great videos!
I hope all the bouncing around doesn't have a negative effect on your printer longterm. Interesting video!
It’s totally fine so far. I think worst case scenario I might have to replace the print head sooner. Would still be totally worth it though.
Passion, what a blessing ❤, hats off to you. 🎉
Fantastic video Adam, I loved your perseverance, your excitement, so very cool. Good for you!
Thanks mate.
Simply loved it! ❤ thanks for sharing. Inspires me to do more and try something new.
Fantastic. Thanks for your time.
Wow! How cool is that! You need a wagon with much bigger wheels, like bicycle wheels! Bumping that up that hill speaks a lot for the durability of the printer! Great drone use, following you up the hill!!
Thanks very much. The problem with having bigger wheels is that I’d want to drag it up a much bigger hill.
Well done! Your last comment, "YES!", sums it up. Congratulations on your work.
What a massive effort. Fantastic idea and what a shot you got and printed out. A huge thanks for a great watch.
I don't print anywhere near enough as I should, I have the Pro 300 so no excuses not to really, and sitting here watching your great video that took mammoth effort, I can't work out why I don't print?? Is it laziness or a disbelief that the photos aren't worthy of printing, I don't know the answer to that, but after watching the effort you put in, I now realise that I have NO excuses not to print my work more, thank you for the video and the effort, it's certainly had an effect on me and my view of printing.
Consider me inspired, what a great effort on your behalf, with an amazing result of a beautiful print, one of a kind and job well done. I can’t begin to articulate the feeling of having our own prints on display, thanks for your efforts on this one.
Thanks Roger. It is very difficult to articulate, impossible really. Needs to be experienced to fully appreciate.
You sir, are dedicated and a little nuts. It has been a very entertaining video and kudos to you for dragging the printer up. I’m always looking forward to your videos and this was dedication in the extreme. Fair play to you!😮
Really great job. What a wonderful story. Holding a print of your work in your hand is truly magical. This just takes it to the next level.
Hi Claire. Yes!!! That’s exactly the point. Thanks so much.
@@Firstmanphotography❤
This is so awesome, I love your enthusiasm. My favorite mountain, ragged top, is about a half hour from my home. At the base of it I own some property. I’m going to park my camper there at the property, set up my printer, and do this. Thank you for the inspiration!
Proof you’re bonkers🤪 😂, and that’s the best place to be, mouth open at the end, hope the beast of a printer is ok. Inspirational, passionate, superb!
Thanks mate. I was about 7 minutes into the climb before I realised it was bonkers. I think that’s the point of adventure though. Tough at the time, but amazing happy memories (fulfilment) later.
I watched this video and had a really great time. Certainly, a drop of Polish blood in your veins was important here. Great job , Adam! 👍
Ha ha. Thanks.
Tremendous! Good effort Adam! 🇨🇦
Thanks so much. Appreciate your time
Brilliant effort, brilliant inspiration, thank you Adam.
Thanks so much Chris.
Loved the video Adam, great effort! Your dedication to this art is one of kind.
Thanks. Much appreciate your time.
Very little to add the dedication and your love of all things photography. The video is a work of art in itself. Nothing but applause is needed....
Great video Adam. Not sure it is anything that I would try, but enjoyed watching you on your adventure.
Been meaning to watch this video for a while and finally got around to it. Fantastic effort Adam. Might just have persuaded me to invest in a Cannon printer!
Thanks Ian. Really appreciate your time.
Fan-bloody-tastic!! Well done! But wow..the gear you took with you, just for the vlogging! Let alone the gear that was going to be the ‘main star’ 🤣.
What a stunner of a print too!
Only came across you literally an hour ago! (Looking at a pro 300 printer) .. and now distracted by the other CZcams vids you’ve done! Gonna be a long night ..😁🤣
Ha ha, thanks so much!! Appreciate your time.
Enjoyed that crazy as it was, and I'm thinking of a lightweight system. Bring a donkey next time.
Ha ha. I’ve dreamt of doing a vlog on horseback. Maybe somewhere much wilder.
Just finished watching your video and, as always, most enjoyable. Have purchased a Canon printer to start printing my photos. To me, it was the next step. When the photos are in the digital world, they are just images, but they have been printed. The photos become into the physical world where you can hold them and enjoy your the fruit of the time and effort you placed in capturing the images.
Exactly Bob. Think it has to be experienced to fully appreciate.
I am just in the middle of your video. You are crazy, what an idea. I own the Pro 1000 and I know how darn heavy that printer is. I am excited to continue watching. 🙂🙃🙂
I love printing too, did a group meeting a couple of weeks ago and printed 20 A3 images for the meeting. Everyone was over the moon with their prints and I really enjoyed making them. A number looked SO much better in print than on screen. I did spend 4 hours on-line to support central trying to sort an issue, which turned out to be a wi-fi disconnect. An 'old fashioned' USB cable from PC to printer solved it. 10/10 for the Epson support crew for sticking with it until sorted. Santa is bringing me some new Fotospeed paper so more fun to come. Well done Adam, I expected you were going to do something in a car park or lay-by, that path is hard enough without pilling a truck! Thanks for sharing, I hope the gear survived the cart malfunction at the end.
That’s a fantastic thing to do for people. The reward, seeing someone’s face when holding their own print in hand for the first time, makes it worth it.
Superb video Adam.. good on you for your amazing efforts as always to bring us inspiring creativeness!! We do need this in the world today!! I hope to be sparking my creativity in 2024!! be well....
That must be a first. The video certainly highlights the importance of printing. Inspiration plus, well done Adam.
I actually don’t think I am the first. Although I maybe the first with an A2 printer. 🖨️
I enjoyed the hell out of this video! A whole new level of commitment to the cause
Certainly one way to stir the ink tanks Adam and you absolutely deserved those conditions with the effort you put in to bring this video to life. I seen the comment on Twitter and before I read your reply, I thought the same as you.....why not, its about celebrating the joy of bring your work to life and now someone will have that opportunity to share that moment you created. Hope the printer was ok after its return journey
Thanks Jim. Your support means a lot. Whilst I don’t recommend treating your printer in this way, it’s totally fine!!
Adam you are a complete nutter. 🤣
Seriously though having watched one of you previous videos, I went ahead and ordered a PRO 1000 but sadly it has been sitting unopened in the box for a few months now, having watched this video will hopefully give me the inspiration to make use of it.
Ha thanks so much. Be careful with the printer though…….once you start, it’s hard to stop. Especially in big and beautiful A2!!
@@Firstmanphotography Would you consider another video showing the different types of paper? Also which cutter would you recommend?
You must have had your arms pulled out with at least 45kg I’m guessing?
Hi Adam, I have followed for years and respected your background, your "focus" on landscape photography (and the health and mental health benefits). I would really enjoy spending time out somewhere local (The Peaks?), taking photos with you and learning your art. Fascinating VLOG!
Thanks David. Glad you enjoyed it and appreciate your time.
Herculean effort there Adam, great image at the end. Hope the printer survived the tumble
Thanks Noel. Yea the printer was fine.
Having done this trek a few times I'm very impressed you managed to get your equipment up there, especially with that little slope on the muddy path round the front just before you get to the location. Did the printer survive it's little fall? Great video again, something completely different, love the image and your passion.
Thanks Martin. I always knew that was going to be the hardest bit. Really appreciate you watching and commenting…..and yes thanks, the printer is all good.
Love message behind the challenge to hike printer to your location. Used to print A3 on an Epson photo printer but since it packed in only had cheap printers. Need to get a decent one to get printing again.
Talk to Canon about making an ad from this! You are the man, Adam! Waiting for part II .
Ha. I’m gonna need a better cart.
Sorry about that, the cart was my biggest concern when I saw how you were going to do this.. I hope your printer is okay!@@Firstmanphotography
I'm going to try some Canson Barytra just because of the number of times you've used it and been happy with the results. I have a different paper supplier that I really like, but I always have to know if this other thing is better.
I love this, well done you!! 🎉
Thanks Linda. Much appreciated.
Love the conceptual art of this. The next challenge is how you are going to better this 😅 Thank you, it certainly made me smile.
Ha ha. Although I think the answer is simple…probably do it for someone who has never printed before and print their picture there and then.
I’m always inspired by your enthusiasm for every adventure you take. Your passion for printing work has made me print more and more of my images and I love seeing them come off the printer.i also mount and frame it lot of them so they can be hung up. Display work, even if just for me, brings me so much joy. Thanks for another great vlog. I am sure someone has asked, but what was the outcome of your tipped over wagon white printer and gear on its side ?
Epic, my friend 🔥
Thanks, not one i'll forget soon.
Great great great!!!
Nutts mate. Fantastic video, amazing, loved it. 😮
Thanks mate.
Got the Canon Image Prograf 300. Happy with the output.
Another great video Adam. You should organise a get together, a selection of photographers, some people to help getvthr gear up or to somewhere, all take photos and thrn can print them there and then. All providing a donation to cover the cost. Could go to doffernet locations. Coastal or hills etc. You could charge 30 quid a print and that could include a tiny bit of your time for assistance.
Nice thanks. There’s definitely an innovative little service in the mobile print idea somewhere.
Great video. Just made my day. Used to drag a hard rubber wheel cart on soft surfaces so I know the pain.
Great job. Great print.
Thank you! Cheers!
A cart with larger wheels next time, yeah? 😄 Fun video to watch Adam.
Yes. But the problem with that is I’d just want to drag it up a much bigger hill.
Crazy Adam but wow. Stunning print of a stunning area thank u as always for taking us along
Thanks Julia. Very kind.
Very impressive! Lovely photos slightly mad but wow😃
Excellent video Adam 👏full respect to the lengths you went into making this video. The ultimate photography experience 🤝📸🌅
Thanks mate.
@@Firstmanphotography your channel really inspires me. I fully agree that photography helps with our mental health👍
Thanks for uploading! I graduated from university with a BA(Hons) in Photography back in 2020, but haven't done much photography since. I struggle a lot with my anxiety and I often ask myself "what will I do with my photographs once I've taken them?" I got into the habit of just taking photographs, taking them back home, editing them, uploading them on Facebook for my friends to see, then forgetting about them. I want to start printing my images and selling them, so thank you for inspiring me! :)
Hi mate, thanks so much for this comment. One of the best bits of (business) advice I ever received is, "it's there if you want it."
@@Firstmanphotography no problem :) and yes absolutely!
Love it, ever printed on wallpaper? I got addicted to shoot and print in 2006 and had various types of printer however our latest is a 60inch wide HP Latex 360 which we have profiled to print full colour for photography from only 6 colours, its amazing and over the years we have pruduced canvas upto 12 ft and wallpaper 20ft H x 30ft wide. We also print for the photographic pro. Just watched this again and love it even more you nutcase.
Great video as always, I love the concept with printing as I am a time served printer by trade when I left school, unfortunately due to the decline in the industry I have had to move on to other forms of income. I was trained in lithographic print which was the same technology printers mimic. The high I got when getting a great print was amazing, if money was no problem buying an old printing press and creating my own plates would be amazing. The new technology is on another level with the printer you featured.
Excellent photograph promote the hand cart as well
Have you ever considered an Instax or Polaroid? Just a thought :-) very entertaining video. The effort you have go to on this is insane, ignoring the pulling a printer up a hill, but the B roll too. Madness. Thank you, Adam.
Thanks Andy. And yeah, using my daughters Instax would have saved a lot of effort.
Totally mad totally brilliant well done. Did the printer survive? Happy Christmas.
It did. For a such a precision tool, I don’t really understand how.
All the best Mike, thanks.
Truly an impressive (and kinda nutty) project Adam! Inspiring!
Thanks mate. I’m here to serve.
WOW! That was a crazy endeavor, but so worth it!
Thanks Darren. That sums up my feelings about it all too.
Just today, I started using my new canon pro 200 and it has been an absolute joy printing my photos and hanging them on my wall. Eventually I plan to sell my own prints as well and it's thanks to you for giving me that little push from your videos to buy my own printer. If anyone is looking to print their own prints, but is not sure if it's worth it. It is more than worth it, it makes photography so much more enjoyable!
What makes it more enjoyable?
That’s fantastic to hear and I totally agree.
I thought you were mad when you mentioned the concept a while back - mad as - but, awesome effort and result and an inspiration to push ourselves outside our comfort zones in the name of doing what we love.
Brilliant.
Yes Geoff!! That’s exactly it. I’m obviously not suggesting or gonna be doing this every week. But it was a phenomenal experience and I’m better off for having done this. Weird how many people don’t get it.
These are the sorts of things we do in our youth. Well done recapturing the wonder and passion that we lose as we age.
Thanks Ken. The only thing I enjoy more than a ‘quest’ story……is living in one.
Your Video turned out great 🎉
As a photographer who purchased a pro-300 On inspiration from you for which I am eternally grateful and loving using it I must admit that happening upon your gut busting experience would have reduced me to hysterics. Fantastic Vlog. Keep it up sir!!
Watching the video of you hiking up that hill with all your equipment, I can't help feeling like you were Frodo Baggins going on the long journey. So much respect for you and love the video and the outcome you were able to produce!!
Another question I had for you was we know all the photo gear you have and everything. But just generally curious if you also cary any emergency equipment with you as well like to call for help or for scratches or anything?
Brilliant video, I certainly dont want to lug a printer about but is inspiring me to get into landscape photography. Roseberry Topping looked stunning in your print but is that down to your expert editing? I’m keen to learn and get editing tips from others but what helps most is seeing the before and after edit, I suppose holding the print up comparing to the real view is a damn good comparison!!!
The craziest thing I've ever seen, lol but God bless you for doing it. Heck you may inspired me to try the same thing.... way to go Adam !!!
He he. Thanks. Really appreciate it.
Hi Adam: Wonderful video and what an amazing concept. You certainly have demonstrated your passion to the craft. I hope at the end of the video the turned over cart didn't include your printer. If it did, is the printer still working? Season greetings and keep well. Cheers, Keith
Thanks Keith. All the best to you. Happily, the printer is fine. Not recommended treatment however.
You made your point, Adam ! 🙂
You’re bloody MAD!! But you’re also right. Bravo, Adam. 👍
Ha ha. True of all the best people.
@@Firstmanphotography 100%!
You are a brave and ingenious individual!! I have a Canon Pro300 and it weighs a ton. I can’t even imagine dragging it up a hill, let alone the Pro1000! Great video Adam!!
Ha thanks. I just read the first part of this message to my wife and she said, “you can’t believe everything you read”.
Greatly appreciated though and grateful for your time.
I have the Pro1000 and I can certify he is nuts!!! 😄
Printer has moving parts you say… as you shake the life out of it along a gravel path!! 😋
So true! 🤣
Brilliant storytelling and something AI won’t easily replace 👏👏👍
Thank you very much. Greatly appreciated. Although I hope we don’t have to regularly go to such extremes to counteract Ai.
@@Firstmanphotography I think you have done your bit. Your reward is now to go out with something like an instax camera and produce at the other end of the scale (ie ruddy easy, but still need the skills of composition etc). Why didn’t I think of this…. 😂😂
I salute you sir for the sheer effort and determination to see this through. One quick question though if I may, I'm sure I read or heard that you must keep the PRO1000 level when transporting it otherwise it messes up the internal ink reservoirs. Is there any truth to this, or did Canon suggest some start up procedures that accounted for/corrected that situation? Many thanks and seasons greetings to you.
I didn’t do anything special. I probably proved that Canon are (rightly) recommending usage well within normal tolerances. Whilst I actually do look after (and cherish) my gear pretty well, I do enjoy pushing my tools to the limit as part of the creative pursuit.
@@Firstmanphotography Thanks for the reply Adam. Most interesting. Seasons greetings to you.
Wonderful print, even better the you printed in place. I applaud the excitement, energy and commitment you've shown dragging that printer, plus other equipment, up hill!
Side note, you should submit to Guinness Record as a "First Man", yes pun intended 🤣🤣, to drag a Canon 1000 printer up the hill!
Ha ha. Now that would be a claim to fame!
You are, without doubt, completely bonkers 🤣. I dread to think what is was like trying to get back down as it was getting dark (I would watch that as a video on its own). Seriously though, that was a brilliant thing to do and you have my utmost respect for the effort you put in to do something truly different and inspiring.. Bravo (and a great image to boot)
Thanks Ralph. Very much appreciated. I was glad to have gravity on my side getting back to the car.
Great video, Great photio
Thanks you very much.
Great video, as always 👍🙂👍. Besides all the efforts, I would be worried about the humidity and low temperature, which I know can affect both the paper and the printer. However, it looks like you did very well, without adverse effect. It's surely a daring act that I wish I could recreate... Canon, please send me all that gear so I can give it a try 😉
Fotospeed did a similar video a few years back. I reckon my printer will have to stay at home; but well done Adam.
Adam, that was a little insane. What an effort, what a risk, but it was unprecedented! How lucky that carrier didn't break. If you continue like this you will have to change your car for an off-road vehicle to make these adventures easier. I hope the rollover didn't result in any damage :)
Absolutely Brilliant video. When I saw the drone shots I was like.."What!!! He bought his drone too...no way!! You are an inspiration Adam.
Thanks Graeme. It was certainly an effort. Appreciated the nice light for the moment with the drone though.
Adam , if I did this ,my dear wife would say "You Crazy Pants!" My first thought is pneumatic tires ! This video oozes of your passion ,we need to take notes !I am curious ,How did you pull off the drone shot?
The DJI drones have a mode where it will follow a subject. I just used it at the point where I thought it would provide a nice establishing aerial shot.
