- Genius mechanical guy repairs and restores A twenty years old rusty police van

My first surprise was having the correct break down truck to remove the van. I was expecting a donkey cart. In the west we consider many parts taken from such a truck to be just scrap but in Pakistan there is always a man who can repair no matter what it is. Even broken light lenses
Here I am thinking about buying a torque wrench that can go down to 2nm cos the BMW manual states that the injector brackets on a B48 need to be torqued at a specific torque and angle and these guys are doing headbolts with what looks like a Tyre spanner! LOL
“Is the correct torque one outstretched leg and a bit more twist on that bearing cap”?
Cuz it needs a pinch of sand poured into the crankcase for better break-in!
No wonder they call saying they are Microsoft Technical Support ripping off people, they are saving up to buy an engine stand.
I am actually surprised. I thought they would be lifting the van onto a motorcycle or a donkey cart! Instead it's a real life tow truck, albeit smaller!
Great imagination in clothing design…and safety shoe.
I especially like how precision engine parts are first placed onto sand and dirt.
Nice use of a height multiplier by the guy helping to take the engine block out. I was particularly impressed by the efforts to keep the cylinder head and components out of the dust. I'm sure those valves and camshaft will be just fine after a rub down with some coarse grit emery.
100%!!:)))
Wow i love your torque wrench😂. Mains are 76 ft lbs and bigends are 29 ft lbs + 90 degrees, not do it up till your elbow clicks. The rod and head bolts are torque to yield so dont be surprised if it blows again. Good luck.
Naah this man uses sandals, he knows what he's doing
Zero chance
More of an engine resto, I wanted to see a finished truck!
Years ago, while working in the yard, I took a drink out of the hose. All was fine till a swollen up dead lizard came down the pipe into my mouth. That was about 30 years ago, never drank out of the hose again 😂
If he was a "mechanical guy" he would be either an android or a robot; looking at the screen, he appears to be quite human and therefore a MECHANIC or an operative.
If it exudes shite it must be an asshole.
Robot chicken😂😂😂😂😂
Should be on an NHRA engine squad with skills like this .
Chingones my friends… saludos desde mexicali 🇲🇽🤙🏾🤙🏾
These Pakistani mechanics curiosity for restoring anything mechanical is both a strength of knowledge and weakness for the lost cause however unperturbed by the challenging dilemma and is essentially the motivation for this particular project of rebuilding a vehicle way past its initial use by date expiration however these conceptual limitations have no effect whatsoever resulting in team of backyard enthusiasts who are eager to invest their time and resources into whatever is required to complete the rebuild we as viewers can only dream big like them
go back to school and learn what a sentence is.
Bet you can't hold your breath and say that underwater.
What's a torque wrench?
Thank you for the video. Great work guys 💯💯
how undeveloped that country is not even a bench to work from,or a power tool ,but they still manage to get things fixed
They are real mechanics not like those of today who only know how to change parts and charge very expensive !
Very cool 😎 truck I love to see the truck run again it can be a very nice truck very great work you guys are doing to the truck I give you five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love to on a truck like that truck
Looks like an old Toyota SR5 truck. That is definitely a Toyota 2L diesel engine which is similar to a 20R gas engine and the forerunner to the legendary 22RE. That being the case it should be alright as many a shade tree DIYer can attest!
Great 👌 job guys 👍👍👍👍
If and when it blows up again All they're going to is mix old parts with more Old parts
Part 2 ???
Few days later;))
Probably you have enough experience to "feel" the torque using only your "arm-memory".
But I would invest in a good torque wrench... really !!!
Otherwise ... great job, gentlemen !!!
Un genio mecánico repara y restaura una furgoneta de policía oxidada de veinte años
What a beautiful interlude, the beautiful call of the faithful, whilst he was working on their latest acquisition the police van
gotta hand to these guys with minimal tools and equipment they get the job done part 2 on the body resto ?
Amazing what you can do when you have no money
They old man in the white pajamas is so cool!
And how clean his clothes are for working on engines I couldn’t wear anything white without getting dirty
I just use pliers to tighten the main bearings, never had a problem.
It’s great what these mechanical guys do with hand tools and a dirt floor….American mechanics could learn a lot.
Yeah, like NOT how to work.
@21:30 Nokia 6310 still going.
Ölabscheider ist Luxus......!!!!!!
Well that ended abruptly!
Main bearing caps are marked with the order they belong. Same with rods. Toyota did a good job machining that engine when new for the main caps to interchange and still allow the engine to run. Basic shit if you've been taught.
Excellent job on the rusty van, I loved that torque wrench, is it a self adjustable one?
Part # 2
I, realize that their work clothing is different in other countries, but the foot wear they use makes my feet hurt.🚑
All the money I've spent on for work-benches, vises, engine lifts, torque-wrenches and the host of other "necessary" equipment---- I don't think anybody would have worked for me if they were expected to scrabble in the dirt--- I know this goes on and I did it in the early days fixing my own cars but I don't think I would have published it
Chip and Dale narrating again
Is that super glue they are using to mount the head ?
Какие у них ключи с головками Т - образные,ими можно разве затянуть болт или гайку...?
To the guy with the grinder, safety glasses are way overrated 🙄
I am sure they know that the engine will not last with metal tubes scraping the inside of the piston walls, dragging the machined surface across dirt and sand and a torque wrench is nowhere in sight!
Camaras con los mexicanicos
Good job
How much torque are you applying to those con-rod caps? "All of it! " 😆

Excellent work
Sin rectificar asi mero vamonos
Se si accende e un miracolo...
Very nice work I wished to see the rest of the work and the moment the car started and painted
saludo muy buen trabajo pero los mecánicos deberían de estar vota para su protección de sus pies
Что за язык? говорят как элвис и бурундуки.
I watched the whole damn video and did not see one genius. I was waiting patiently for one to show up but all I saw was men in pajamas and sandals working on a small truck. Mostly I saw fools who put vital engine components down in the dirt.
4,000 hp 4 cyl.
Lo unico que sorprende es como los milicos esos pueden ser tan roñosos .
And….. torque to spec☝️
Not enough sand. 😂
ma conoscete la chiave DINAMOMETRICA essenziale per questo montaggio
паки реанимируют мотор 🤣 про момент затяжки они наверно не белеме моя не панимать
Where's part 2?
Damn, yeah!! Who needs those stupid torque wrench, measuring tools, new cylinder head bolts and other nonsense?? I think they put new pistons and bearings same way: if it moves it's ok!! Welcome to paquistancraty!
The same job they do here in the United States the different they’ll charge you half $1 million
Yes , but the people doing it will have been supplied with suitable clothing and paid a decent wage with holiday and sickness benefits plus enough money to buy more than a bowl of rice a day
Flip
flop.
that a lie , the repair was done by little chipmunks
Was those head bolts 30 fuck lbs
Are there other clothes other than this khakis they ware
Cannot dignify this work with a comment. Let it be.
что за сланцы у них... они походу перпетум мобиле
сабо вроде
UUiii 1 A top
going to Mohammed Shieb paint shop dirt free

They work with what they have and make the best of it. That doesn't make anyone a "mechanical genius"! It just insures more business when this improperly assembled engine comes back for another premature rebuild. You can't just guess at torque settings even if you are a mechanical genius!!!
You can guess it if you do it everyday
Ingenuity not genius
Ma gonfiare i pneumatici prima di caricarla nooo eeehhh😂.......
