As a school kid in 1965 the class was introduced to the concept of overkill, We had never heard this term before but it was explained to us during the current affairs class..

You may not like this fact but it is a fact. World War 3 started some time ago, we just don't realize it. People in 1940 in Hiroshima wouldn't have said there was a world war 2 going on. It's easy to see with hindsight World War 2 started in September 1, 1939. But If you had asked people in Leningrad in June 21, 1941, they would have said no there is no world war 2. Yet, the next morning Germany and the Soviet Union were at war. Only later can we say when World War 2 started. We are in World War 3, I believe, already. Act like it.

Having kissed Saddam Hussein's arse after the latter gassed thousands of Kurds, Galloway came back to the UK and denied he had done any such thing even though it was on camera. WHy? Rather like Trump in more recent times, he knew that his most ardent supporters are religiously zealous in their loyalty, and care less about whether what he says is true than whether he is an effective demagogue for their favoured causes.
