  • Welcome to the third instalment of the Africa Motorcycle Tour Series!
In this episode I ride a Motorcycle through the desert country of Mauritania!
A country which is described for only essential travel by the UK home office due to a threat of terrorism and kidnapping, in reality this country, although sparse is very welcoming but very windy!
Stay tuned for the next episode where I ride into Senegal and cross the infamous Diama Dam border crossing!

I love it, you've got balls of steel mate. The areas you're travelling in within North West Africa are some of the most underpopulated regions in the continent and pretty dangerous too if you bump into the wrong people but you're just powering on and you have a true old school explorer man spirit. More people should think like you.

Thanks TM! Luckily through Western Sahara and Mauritania they have military checkpoints roughly every 100 miles, requiring each individual to hand over a fiche document with their information and destination, this has greatly improved safety and I was offered free bread and tea countless times!

That wind looked quite scary to be honest, especially with the sand blowing up. What was the total distance on that particular road. I usually have to ride Chesil Beach road in high winds and it's only 2.5 miles long and that's scary enough. Really enjoy your videos please keep them coming. Take care

How was driving through africa with a bike ? Were the roads too bad ?
And what is the country that was the easiest to drive through and the hardest to drive through ?

those Barkbusters, what are the mounts? the part that attaches to the inner portion of the bar, they aren't the normal ones that they sell. im very interested because ive tried 2 brands of hand guards and none fit the 2017 CRF250L with ABS, but those do.

Hi Harvey, been following you for quite a while now you are doing everything just right especially the attitude so positive. Just go "Piano Piano" as they say in Italy "slowly slowly".
Think like a little mouse, life is a big piece of cheese & you have all the time to eat it. Take care be safe.

Thanks Frank! It's a different change up to the pace of Europe, but if you embrace the way it makes the experience much more enjoyable!

NIce, but i must admit journey through this part of Africa looks dull and boring. Probably will get better once you pass the deserts. Good luck!
