- Its been a busy and tiring few days leading up to departure, ferry sets sail from Portsmouth, England to Santander, Spain on Friday November the 24th 2017!

Enjoy the trip, sounds awesome.
Glad to see you well prepared, just 2 things to add for even if it is too late, should have got some Motion pro tyre levers with the ring spanner ends to fit the axles, about half the length of the ones you have and spare front tube is handy because it will also fit the rear if needed, rears good but don't fit the front.
Heavy duty tubes are debatable also, they help with pinch flats but nails and things still puncture them, easiest solution is to put talc in the tyre to help the tube slip on the tyre, lessens the chance of pinch flats and keep decent pressure in the tyres, maybe as low as 20, any lower and you do risk pinch flats and tyre slipping on the bead, unless you run rim locks.

Well done mate and good luck on the trip. I would highly recommend you take a Gear Gremlin tyre repair kit. It has tiny tyre inflators inside the kit. No need to take wheel off instant emergency repair. 👍
He has tubes. That kit is more about tubless?????

Take some puncture repair foam/tyre weld. Works amazingly fast. Fixes and inflates. It's not permanent but you may not want to spend half hour fixing a tube just at the point of puncture.
Respect for taking on Africa 💪

Hi Harvey, as a biker new to touring I thoroughly enjoy your videos and find them very useful. I'm off to Ireland in the summer , to do the Wild Atlantic Way and am going to take a camera. What camera do you use? I'd like to be able to record myself talking too.
Why didnt you do the trip on the Drz, it only had 12,000 miles on it ?

Harvey, after spending a period of two decades of my life in the army and oil industry, I’d suggest you purchase a high velocity assault rifle and a tub of Vaseline. When you run out of ammunition in Nigeria, you’ll soon find out why you’ll need the Vaseline! Good luck with the trip! Cant wait to see the videos. 😀

It's only sore the first few times, the Vaseline takes the sting out of it ! So I've been told :) Safer with the high velocity assault rifle though.

Hey bud!! Great video...I've watched it a couple of times now! Just love the presentation:)! I've got a question though if I may? Which insurer did you find the most accommodating in regards to cover for this trip?
Your only option is to buy ECOWAS or Brown card insurance in West Africa which covers all ECOWAS countries, cost me £35 roughly for 3 months, after Nigeria I didn't buy any insurance all the way down to South Africa, in South Africa and Namibia vehicle insurance is only mandatory for financed vehicles
