If it was rush hour, some people would’ve probably saw what was about to come and abandon their vehicles and run, which would cause everyone else to run as well. It’s unlikely that it would go unnoticed if it happened in rush hour

@user-re9zk4zy5d maybe, but that is a very long distance to run in such a short amount of time. I'm not sure if school buses regularly cross it or not, they would have basically been sitting ducks. Such a bad and scary thing to think about

@@3lli0 It was a continuous single truss bridge, basically just a massive solid cage balanced on supports; the bridge depends on every support to keep its structure. As soon as one support was lost, both the metal of the bridge itself started bending under its own weight, and the lost support's previously held load became redistributed onto the other supports, which was too much for them causing them to fail as well.

    Baltimore bridge is falling down,
    Falling down, falling down,
    Baltimore bridge is falling down,
    My fair city!
    Biggest crane upon the scene,
Upon the scene, upon the scene,
    Biggest crane upon the scene,
    To lift the wreckage high.
    Maryland's governor does fret,
    Does fret, does fret,
    Maryland's governor does fret,
    For the economy's plight.
    Containers ripped like papier-mache,
    Papier-mache, papier-mache,
    Containers ripped like papier-mache,
    In the Patapsco River's sway.
    Salvage vessels, tugboats too,
    Tugboats too, tugboats too,
    Salvage vessels, tugboats too,
    To clear the debris away.
    Divers halted by water's might,
    Water's might, water's might,
    Divers halted by water's might,
As they seek the missing four.
So here we work to lift the span,
Lift the span, lift the span,
So here we work to lift the span,
    And restore Baltimore's pride.

They will probably fight with the insurance company for reimbursement, but the thing is that this is such a vital access point, they need this bridge rebuilt ASAP and don't want to wait. At least that's what I see

Terrorist attack. The main part of the bridge was targeted. Pay attention people. First it was the cell phone issue then Internet issues, now a cargo ship dat turned at the exact angle of the bridge main support system. Loosed power then gains power and steer towards the main beam and looses power again so I can't stop it. Then gains power back right before the collision 🤔
