It shows how important good science communication is. They said at the time of release that the photos were in tweaked color, but they didn't release a true color image...

Yeah all the CCd photos of space with exaggerated colors is annoying too when that’s what scientists will post and the common folk doesn’t know
Or maybe just maybe when scientists say ‘this is not an accurate depiction of colour’ people should just listen? Fail to see how this is bad science communication.
@@notaspeck6104they didn’t say that, they say they tweaked the color, with no way for common folks to understand how tweaked it’s. Also, let’s be honest, news spread fast, a single notice usually won’t be much help, it’s scientist responsibility that if they want to share something to the public, they should communicate it in a much clearer and detailed fashion
@@notaspeck6104With that mentality we will never get better science communication. Ever heard of the broken telephone game? Maybe you should learn how easy it is for the average person to get and spread a watered down and often incorrect version of what scientists actually want to say and how often scientists help that happen too

Don't worry, color is just human perception. There's nothing particularly right or wrong about any of those pictures, since both are based on real data.
