- Hi all,
I thought I would review my acoustic guitars and its the cordobas turn for a spin. I have always had a nylon string guitar with a pickup and so far this is the best I have ever owned. I have had takamine and yamaha but I find this one to beat all of them in sound, playability and overall value.

I got mine eight years ago. I consider myself blessed to have it. It still brings out the best in me. I play the heck out of it and it is still like new. Try one. You’ll love it.
I bought a GK pro to use for electric gigs. I did not expect it become my main classical guitar but could not help loving it. It is just a fabulous instrument all the way around. I'm so proud that after 2 years it has honest to goodness wear marks on the fretboard from playing. Thats how much i have ended up playing it....several hours a week. If you need a silent guitar for work, I have a cubicle, the Yamaha silent guitar nylon version is a great choice. I now look forward to zoom meetings as i can wear one headphone for the guitar and one for the meeting, mute my meeting mic and practice instead of being supremely bored.
Just bought this exact model about two hours ago. Visited a music store just to browse a bit and didn't really expect to find a guitar I loved, but there it was, used in fact, hanging on the wall. Played it for about two minutes, made up my mind, and brought it home with me.
I’ve had this gem and loved it so much I rolled up to the GK Pro, can’t go wrong with either
Nice video. Thank you. I’m checking one out tonight.
Great Thank you for your input
Nice! Jota Navarra, I thought I would never hear that song again. That was the first song I learned on guitar.
Nice!
It was so nice seeing your video. I'm trying to figure out what I should get and I like to play fast so I want something that's going to give me that action. I know that the Yamaha apx is known for that
I am getting my standard GK Studio (not the negra) soon. This video sealed the deal for me. Playing for over 35 years, its time for something less painful (on the fingers) to play Latin music. Great video!
Thanks! Make sure your kippah is pinned down if it is windy outside :)
Nice! I hope you enjoy it! This Kippah actually stays on my head pretty well without clips:)
@@benkleinmusic2858 Lucky.you. i got a flat head! Keep the videos coming. Thanks for the hard work
I'm thinking on getting the same... let me know what you think of it!!
@@nunonunes097 For sure
@@nunonunes097 the guitar is great. Lots of sound from such a small guitar. Great tone. Plugged in, it also is nice. The neck has a great shape...really fills the hand.
Loving the kippot שלום אחי
Do you have any EQ suggestions for playing this guitar in louder venues? Mine sounds tremendous for small gigs but itnis dofficult to get a great sound at loud volumes.
Hi, I have recently got one of those and also not too happy with the action. If you don’t mind me asking what did you get the action down too at the 12 fret?
Tried one at guitar center, compared it to a Lucero 250 and they were nearly identical in tone/volume.
I have one and I use it to play at my San Francis Xavier Catholic Church ,It sounds GREAT
I got this guitar over one I think was called idk I think it’s wrong the fusion? Something in that. This one I got a few years later Happy with it, it’s like my dads guitar but a lil thinner, that other guitar was super thin, and made me play faster, but it didn’t get a feel I wanted. ( some guitars make me play differently) Both actually sounded great, so I know to check out these guys again…But I wanted a guitar To feel a certain way, wish I could afford both to be honest. Love this guitar and will never sell it, I’ll pass it on eventually, but it’s just amazing.
Nice review. What strings do you have on it? I believe it comes with Savarez.
Yes I think so too
I use La Bella 2001's, Normal Tension on mine and they sound great. The G is a bit lacking but all the others string sound great. I saw someone recommending high tension La Bellas and I think l try those. I love Saveras (alliance) but find that along with the bright sound you get a lot of fret noise. However, they really sound great. I'm going to try the cristal corums.
Hi Ben: I just bought a guitar just like yours and I cannot plug it to a Zoom Live Track L-12 Console. I know is a great guitar as I have been playing acoustic guitars for over 30 years.
I am not a sound engineer, but through the years I have learned a couple of things about sound.
Any suggestions, will be much appreciated Sir.
Thank you for the review, it was very helpful.
I hope you answer, as many of the youtubers do not care sometimes...
Thanks for your question. That’s a good question can you try turning up the gain knob on the channel of the mixer?
Probably you already figured it out by now 7mo later🤪 but use Ch1 or Ch2 on the Livetrak, and press the "Hi-Z" button right below where you plugged the guitar in (above the channel knobs). Make sure the red button (48V) is off (LED is dark) before you plugged the guitar into the channel's socket. Press the rec/play button which is right above that channel's fader, and cycle thru until it turns red. Make sure the mute button between that and the fader isn't lit. Raise the fader to "0" (about 2/3 of the way up). Now raise up the red fader, which is all the way over on the right side, and make sure the mute button above it isn't lit. On the top right where it says "monitor out", raise the volume knob for whichever outputs you're using (probably one of the "A" outputs). If you barely hear anything, then turn up the Gain knob on the channel you're using (either Ch1 or Ch2, on the upper left side of the Livetrak). Unless something's broken somewhere, that should give you enough sound, assuming you have powered monitors or headphones hooked up. Try to set your gain adjustments so that the channel and master LED meters don't quite light up red when you play as loud as you plan to get. I can usually touch the red a little bit before I clip the converters, but better to be safe than sorry, with digital gear especially. The "Gain" knob is an analog preamp, but I'm pretty sure the faders control a digital Gain adjustment, so there's no "color" inherent in overdriving them, and therefore no point in doing so. And I'm not really that plussed about overdriving Zoom's analog preamps either.
I have a zoom l20 was going to recommend using channel 1 and 2 with the hi-z button as recommended. We use it for our keyboard player.

Can you tell me what your 12th fret action is at E6th and E1st now that you have it set it up?
Hi Scott, I will check when I am back in town
@@benkleinmusic2858 Ben no worries. It took a few careful iterations but I have mine completely set up now (nut included) with E6th: 2.5mm and E1st: 2.25mm and no fret buzz. The GK Studio is a fantastic sounding/playing guitar at it's price point.
@@scotttucker9346 awesome! Yup totally the best bang for your buck! Plays like it's over 1k
The only thing i didnt hear mentioned was that this is not a solid wood guitar. The back and sides are laminated.
It still sounds awesome
Apparently that is sometimes a good thing for acoustics with pickups because it reduces feedback. But they may have just done it to reduce cost too.
This is Gk studio negra?
The classic or the limited
@@user-qh5nz5oo1n Its the GK Studio Negra classic
@@benkleinmusic2858 Keep it up thank you
suena a lata de atun.
you pluck too hard
That's not how this guitar is supposed to be played.
Who cares he can play fucking nursery tunes still sounds good lol
That's like saying the telecaster wasn't made to play punk rock.
