    Smacking the wrench with your palm will hurt a lot less than the side of your hand.
    Also you can remove the pistons with a blow gun that has a rubber tip. Keep the bleeder in and blow air into the brake line bolt hole

      I usually don’t mess with the knob, I don’t even know exactly where mine is set. I control my cloud with a regulator before the control box. But you can adjust it while spraying to get the cloud to your liking and spray style. 👍🏼

    • @Mr_BUSINESS_24_7
      @Mr_BUSINESS_24_7 Před 10 měsíci +1

      You put a block of wood in front of the pistons and give a few short blasts of compressed air into the hole where the brake hose attached to the caliper. And be sure to KEEP YOUR FINGERS CLEAR OF BEING BETWEEN THE BLOCK OF WOOD AND THE CALIPER PISTONS WHEN YOU BLAST THE AIR.

    • @royalcoatspowdercoating

  • @perknowitzki7158
    @perknowitzki7158 Před rokem

    I saw you blasted and coated mating surface where the caliper get mounted.. does that cause any issues? I saw you also blasted like the pin holes and all that.. can all that be blasted? I just did brakes similar to those and I masked all the holes and mounting surfaces and it was too much lol

    • @royalcoatspowdercoating
      @royalcoatspowdercoating  Před rokem

      The coating on these was actually powder from the manufacturer without any masking for mounting brackets. Most of the time I would recommend masking the mating surface.
      I just tried to be careful while blasting around the pin holes since they would be filled with grease. Definitely want to keep the powder out though.
      Some brakes have more masking than others. Working on a set of 6 piston 2 piece Wilwoods right now that have a ton of masking. But also a much higher quality caliper.

    • @perknowitzki7158
      @perknowitzki7158 Před rokem

      @@royalcoatspowdercoating yeah I saw how the calipers were before you started working on them.. I was just wondering for the next time. When blasting do you use duct tape? To cover up machined surfaces? If so when done and tape gets removed it leaves like the tape/glue residue how do you get rid of that?
      Looking forward for that video!

    • @royalcoatspowdercoating
      @royalcoatspowdercoating  Před rokem

      @@perknowitzki7158 some times I use duct tape and sometimes I use the high temp green tape depending on the application. Like this next set of calipers I’m using the green tape because of the residue issue. Usually I try to stay away from the edge as much as possible. I also use the thicker, more expensive duct tape and that seems to help also.

    • @royalcoatspowdercoating

      Rim strip is the stripper and the neutralizer is baking soda/water. It is still recommended to blast after stripping but stripping first makes your blasting a lot quicker. www.royalcoatspowdercoating.com/product-page/rim-strip
