I review my m8s 2011 Lexus IS350 F-sport.. this luxury sport sedan is seriously bulletproof, with countless IS350s driving well over 300,000kms
this particular f-sport in pearl white really looked good with its subtle, yet sporty styling.. It's very comfy to drive.. has lots of luxury features and for a car that's nearly 10 years old.. it hides its age pretty well (-infotainment)
I would highly recommend this car to someone who want a decently quick, cheap, luxury sports sedan.. and really wants that reliability to be the deciding factor..
These cars are cheap and with good maintenance.. will basically never die.

I pick Lexus over Germans. I have owned them and the amount of repair time and labor I spent on E60 was just not worth it. Although, I turned that E60 into a M5, but rod bearings were worn out in 5000kms of use, the steering box needed a major repair, Steering angle sensors went bad, the CD changer made funny noises all the time, infotainment was worse than a NOKIA 3310, water pump, water housings went bad every 30,000 kms or so, and don't even start with wiring burnt filaments!! The engine sounded heavenly good though. Meanwhile, my friend had the shittiest lexus of all time - RX350 - and the thing had no faults whatsoever except interior problems, and cooler compressor problem, after 512,000 km.
couldn't agree more man.. sorry you had to go through all that sounded like a nightmare lol its so true tho the german cars are so overrated.. they are way to expensive and just not nearly as reliable as they should be.. lexus = toyota so i guess it makes sense eh
I’ve had BMW’s and jaguars go wrong. Spent 1000s on them. My friend has a Lexus IS 250 with over 200k miles. Nothing went wrong. So I bought a Lexus is250 f sport in white. A much better car than it’s German counterparts

I have a 2011 IS 350 AWD in the dark gray color and with 200k trouble free miles. It is such a fun car to daily and love it! I absolutely love the car and will NEVER go back to any other auto maker. Acura does make good cars as well, but they’re interiors are always a generation behind imo and they still have transmission issues!

I bought a IS350 2006 Crystal White Pearl for $5K from a family member with 200K miles I rebuilt tranny at 225k miles it still drives like a dream. Don't forget when these came out it was about $36K car MSRP. It may be outdated but way more comfortable than many other cars today!
I purchased one of these in blue for pennies! Love the 350 so much I also purchased an ISF! Love driving both!

I have a 2012. Mint condition. Fantastic car, can’t fault it performance wise. Tech is great for its age. Bluetooth from my phone hooks up instantly. Best daily car that I’ve ever had and I’ve actually had a few German cars. Great quality car and very solid.

Hey Lucozade i just bought a 2012 MY2013 IS 350 Sports Luxury (Nov/2021), it has 87,000 kms/54,000 miles, it's a top of the range in excellent condition, it's coming from interstate so I'm actually still waiting delivery as we speak, but this Ross Review got me so excited, 0-100 km/h in 5.42 seconds blows my mind! Can't wait till it arrives at my door step later this week!

You can swap the up and down gear selector by swapping two wires in the connector. I have done this to my ISF and it feels so much better. Pull back to shift up, and push forward to shift down. Easy mod. Took me about 30 mins or so. You can actually buy a patch harness that does this too.

If you've never driven one you're in for a treat. Awesome cars. IS350 is a great car too. Was almost going to get one before i found my ISF for a good price.

Great review, currently on my third 350 - for the money it’s a hard car to replace! (Try and review a 3rd gen 2014+ if you can) Also had an ISF so you definitely need to give one a go!

I bought a 2012 is350 X special edition with 67,000kms for $27,000 here in Perth, one old man owner. Let me just say, these things can launch. They have really aggressive short gearing and if you put some good tyres on it, you will easily get 4.7s 0-100km/hr times, just using the shifter with ECT on normal mode. Mine is stock with nexen su4 255/40 ZR 18s on rear and 225/40zr 18's front, with a lukey straight through glass packed 3 inch end mufflers which are really deep and I regularly clock 4.7s 0-100 times. A word of advice, make sure your regularly change the fluids including ATF and rear diff oil.
Love these. I have the first series is200 (2003 model) I want on of these in Murcury Grey or Crimson.
They are quick too. 13.8 1/4 mile stock is great and with a few mods low 13s.

The crazy thing, still is very good HP numbers on 2021. I just wish it would have come 7-speed, and would have been great a IS370, with just a little more punch.
And man, that center cup holder, still is a beautiful car.
Was shopping for one of these, couldn't find a really clean one so I ended up with a slightly newer GS350. Credit to the owner, that one looks great!

Amazing review of the IS350, just wanted to correct you regarding the Bluetooth connectivity. It does work for media as well for the model you're reviewing as 2009 and later models all had media connectivity added to their infotainment systems.

2nd correction, 09-12 models only had bluetooth call connectivity not bluetooth audio. Only the 12-13 model 2is's had full bluetooth audio capability.
Mac Chu No 2010 and up have full Bluetooth audio capability. I know because I own a 2011 IS350 F-Sport
I'll have to have another look as i couldn't find the setting or menu on my 2011, i have read in the comments from a couple people that you have to pair your phone twice. Will investigate this second pairing when i get home...
Mac Chu that’s correct you have pair it for phone call and pair it again for audio. When you press the set up button, click on audio and click on Bluetooth audio settings so you can pair your phone

93k miles on my 2014 and I absolutely love it. RSR super down lowering springs, apex-i throttle controller, tsudo mid-pipe, and muffler delete. New wheels next!
I want to do a throttle controller to my 2008 IS350 is it worth the money?
@@racr2687 definitely worth it unless you’re going to get a custom tune. Throttle response is way better, and it gets rid of that annoying lag
Lexus’s build quality is top notch especially for a performance daily driver. Still looks and performs beautifully in 2024. I remember driving my friends Dads LS400 & SC400 back in the 90’s and they’ve just continued to build beauties.

Nice video. How would the 2010 G37S/XS/S Sedan fair against this? Used, seems you can get this for 8k or less. 330hp, reliable ( maybe not as reliable as Toyota but from what I hear regular maintenance should get you well passed 300k miles ) .
i havent been in a G37S but i have reviewed a G36 sedan and it was a formidable competitor to this.. great drive good luxury and build quality was there.. better than this... prob not.. but the price is much cheaper so i would consider it 100%

This would be my first car. I’m in NYC and I see these all the time so they seem to handle well in cold climates. I think it would be a good buy
Hey Ross, a friend of mine has one of these and I recently bought a Volvo S60 T6 with a polestar tune so it’s running 242kw. Would love to see you do a review on one of these too! The Volvo was quicker on a dig and rolling drag race. Cheaper to buy too.
I’ve reviewed a polestar S60 a few months ago! Was a really impressive car 👏 be a good comparison vs the Lexus actually
@@RossReviewsau I think the polestar would outclass the is350. Probably better against the ISF. The more basic version like mine can be picked up a lot cheaper and still very fast. If you find yourself in Melbourne, hit me up for a drive.

i'm still yet to drive a new model IS but i've heard they are not as good..
I had the 2014 IS as soon as it came out and was disappointed.
Specially when I was coming out of 2010 fully loaded.

after owning 3 series which burns oil like crazy and nearly avoiding a4 which exactly had a same problem end up with †he accord which is a nice car much much reliable but its fwd in future this will be on my list but i would stay away from those earlier is250 apparently they had carbon build up issues till 2011.
This is definitely the better car in terms of maintenance and reliability 1000%

havent reviewed a V6 camry yet.. but ya man this IS350 was very nice to drive.. great daily with enough sport to please everyone.. very reliable
I have a '13 Avalon which is just a more elusive and nicer Camry. Very easy to work on, aside from the motor mounts, those are a bit of a hassle. It's got the same engine as the IS350 just about 20 less HP. The only downside is that it's FWD.
They say the only problem is the alternator goes bad but hey just one with a lifetime warranty when it does

I bought this exact car last year in November so far so good, it's a really comfortable ride. The only down side is the SAT NAV map updates which only go up to 2017/18 which you will need to take to a Lexus dealer to get and the updates cost $375 to $465 to update depending on dealer in (Victoria).
glad your enjoying it man! really great car n the thing will still last ya if ya treat it right.. ya near on 10 years old so infotainment is dated.. but most people would prob use their phone anyhow nowadays rather than a sat nav

It’s quick.. does a good job you can see how consistent the 0-100 time was and it was quick

What year is the best is350 F sport?
Probably 2012 as it was the 2IS gen and came factory with bluetooth audio. 2010-12 2IS had updated looks too but the 2IS gen is the one to get if you want performance on the straight due to the transmission. 3IS 2013-present are slugs in comparison on 0-100 but are more luxury and better handling round the corners. I love the look and interior of the new 2021 IS but i know my 2011 2IS would slay it in a dig.

Ohh and if you got a extra 10k the supercharger kit from the Lotus would really make this thing kick ass.

My 2011 is350 fsport has Bluetooth, stock navigation system. My phone connects as soon as I start the car
This car does have Bluetooth Audio. All IS models from 2010 and up have Bluetooth audio capability.

The company suffers from QC, save the extra money and get a ISF.
The IS350 shines with bolt-ons, for what it is.

that is high miles.. i would be careful considering its not the V8 im not sure how long their engines hold out for generally
If it has maintenance records and been well maintained do it , the 2gr-fse engines are tanks and last a really long time many with over 200k miles on it

What’s the difference between is350 vs is350 f-sport ? I know the IS-F is a completely different thing but I’m still not even sure what the f-sport is compared to base model 😂🤦♂️
It's mainly cosmetic, plus firmer suspension. On the F Sport, you get the IS F front seats, black headliner, aluminium pedals, more aggressive front grille, front lip extensions, 18" wheels, and rear spoiler.

This car does have Bluetooth audio! I have a 2010 and you just have to pair it again in audio settings!

Ross Reviews from 2010-current, they have Bluetooth audio streaming. Just have to pair it twice. Once as phone then as a media player.
AU models didn't get bluetooth audio until 2012 unfortunately unlike you guys in the US.

I own a 2011 IS350 in Ultrasonic Blue. Great car for the price. Im 6'1 and 100kgs and I wish that the seat bolsters were adjustable in and out. Also the rear doors autolock and its a pain to have to double push the alarm fob.
Great car and the styling has aged very well
Oh and the paddle shifters are junk and you may as well not use them. They dont shift gears they just limit top gear
why some cars have a blue plates and others have a black plates in Perth/Aus ??
custom plates are usually black here.. tho you can get them in basically any colour if you want.. the plate on this car is just a standard WA plate

I’m a Lexus man for that very reason.
While other cars were friends and family behind and they needed a ride, the Lexus was always there to the rescue.

Slap on rr racing tune, intake, exhaust and this thing will do low mid 4 sec 0 to 60. Sadly, I only have 250 not 350. I recommend new buyer to go for 350 unless u in some shtty situation then yes 250 will do fine but without the tune, it feels under horse power.
yeh i reckon a exhaust 100% needed.. and a tune would prob really help speed up the car too.. tho it's decently fast already.. i was impressed for a stock NA V6
IS 350 was only ever officially available in Japan, USA/Canada, and Australia, so you're stuck with the 250 in many countries.
Not because I use to own one but IS350 is one of the best cars ever build
it is up there.. especially for an attainable, reliable car

Too conservative inside and out.
Much prefer the older IS200 for it's funky instruments and cute silky smooth 2l straight six.

The 2.0 is better if you like going slow.
I like slow cars if they have character about them.
The 2007 model is for whatever reason the fastest @ 0 - 60 in 4.9sec some say 4.7secs. Probably fastest NA sedan built.
its quick but not the fastest.. Lexus GS-F is faster will do 4.5
If you’re australian you must buy a Subaru. Or a Skyline.

no not the same.. the 250 is a 2.5 V6 the 350 is a 3.5 V6.. about 100hp in difference and the 350 is only RWD the 250 is RWD or AWD.. few trim things are also different
