Hearing woods talk about how his anxiety was a barrier to doing the podcast but overcoming it makes me feel much more confident in dealing with my own anxiety. Thank you.
I had tons of anxiety many years ago and confronting it head on and exposing myself to those situations that were making me anxious, slowly and gradually, is what made me overcome it. Also some behavioral therapy, of course, that's the first thing.

I usually hate remote podcast kind of things, but the way you guys did that split screen with the centerpiece being the same tricked my mind into forgetting it was remote. That was a genius idea and worked flawlessly.

@@anthonypearce5389 They are here, but there were a couple in the past where they both had the same center table and each put a switch on it in the same place. The switches were even different, but they did it where they still looked at each other like they were in the room, I'm guessing the video call was in the same place in the room that the other would normally be, but it took me almost the entire video the first time to notice they weren't in the same room.

Oracle of Ages and Seasons are NOT the same game. They are literally 2 different games that are tied together by a theme / release date. Also, Capcom killed it with these games, they are incredible.
Was my first Zelda back in the days. Struggled so hard as a kid :D
It makes sense to put them together, as they tell one full story. I personally don't consider the adventure/experience over until I defeat Ganon at the end.
Yeah honestly nobody in this room knows enough about zelda to be making a tier list. bob openly talks about not having beaten those two games, and he thinks four swords and four swords adventures are the same game. He also didn't know that capcom made the oracles games.

As a Wulffden subscriber, someone who hasn't played any Zelda games, and a person who loves watching these two banter/ watching Wood get upset, this is my favorite Nontendo Podcast episode so far. I've watched it 4 times now 😂

As someone who didn't grow up with N64 and Nes games I agree with Bob. Trying to play ocarina of time as someone whos grown up with more powerful consoles is a little hard. I don't care too much about graphics but compared to ocarina of time pixel graphics are easier to enjoy.

To be nitpicky about the comment from someone behind the camera about how "one of the npcs says i am error cause it doesn't load right" if i remember correctly, there was a "Did you know gaming" about that detail, wherein it's actually a programming joke because the other npc says "I am Bagu" a supposed mistranslation of japanese for "Bug", based on the written form of the japanese word.
Or i could be completely misremembering, who knows.........but it wasn't for the guy loading improperly that's for sure ^^;;;;

People keep forgetting that in Spirit Tracks you have a companion. Zelda as a semi-playable companion with actual story significance is one of the best things about that game.

Zelda II is actually one of my S tier Zelda games, it’s the black sheep because it’s much different, but the difference and difficulty ramp is why I loved it
So crushed early on since they BOTH don’t love it 😢 I love this game as hard as I love OOT and BOTW/TOTK but for opposite reasons…sigh…
If my favorite zelda is not in the top 14 I'm going to riot.

Its glad that someone in the video game space has the same opinions and experience with me about Ocarina of Time. Played it at friends houses when younger didn't get it. Played 3DS version, stopped playing. Went back to it years later beat it and I think overall its okay, but I agree with Bob with his complaints about it. Also Wood is right too that the over hype of the game over the years does not help. Its tough to say anything bad about OOT because you just get shut down by people who have nostalgia for it
Not everyone is gunna like a game, every game has flaws
But Ocarina did so much for video games as a medium and was the single most magical game ever created at the time
It may not be quite what it once was, but what it did and how it made people feel is truly special

I mean obviously this list is nonsense, but the DS games have some of the coolest little design things. They used the touch screen in really cool ways like drawing maps and drawing the path for the boomerang, and there was interaction between some of the items which I don't think we'd had previously in zelda (and didn't again until BOTW?).
Also, for all its flaws, Skyward Sword has hands down the best dungeon design and was the first Zelda to have a fully orchestrated soundtrack.

IMO bob is being so brutally honest that while i love OoT that really was my experience with it as well. Nothing he said didnt happen to me i was just 12 and it was a game so i remember it was amazing but i struggled in the same ways ha
That was not being a good friend on display. That was very insensitive. I hope Bob can sincerely apologize to Wood sometime down the road. I hope Wood can move past this one day. Bob was clearly causing Wood physical pain. That was a very painful half hour to watch. I understand you cannot have the same opinions on everything, especially when you have different life experiences. I don’t blame Wood for having trouble doing onsite podcasts when they crap all you and the things you clearly love and cherish. Wood if you’re reading this, alcohol can alter your mood and is not the answer just like caffeine. They both can cause you anxiety and depression in different ways. Continue your steps to recovery and have honest conversations with Bob on the side. I suspect Zelda was Wood’s safe space back in the day and a way he coped, and it’s tough to see your things in such a way. Hang in there team Nontendo.
It’s amazing that a franchise this old arguably has no bad games. Worse games than others yes. But none of them are bad

Seems like a lot of podcasts do fail because of poor management from production companies. I'm thinking specifically of The Friendship Onion with Merry and Pippin from the Peter Jackson LOTR trilogy, which I really enjoyed and should have been a big hit but has gone on a seemingly permanent hiatus. I think these podcast production companies try to take too much of a cut and/or offer poor creative direction which de-incentivizes the content creators from continuing, or maybe they just pull the plug if they're not getting the kind of numbers they expected. Either way, I'm glad you two are doing things your own way, and hope there's staying power for you to continue. You guys were savvy enough in the YT and media business to basically avoid being scammed. There are a lot of parallels in the publishing world (where I have a bit more experience)--keep an eye out for bad contracts and always read the fine print.

Best tier list ever, I'm tired of people putting games in the same spot over and over like if they were afraid of saying "hey you know what ocarina actually sucks", just because the game meant something at the time (and the same goes for FF7) doesn't mean it has to be all the time in every tier list in existence.
I have never disliked a video ever in my live until this moment. I feel sick inside for so many reason. Thanks Bob.
Skyward Sword on dolphin is really good and the wii mote with either more powerful hardware or better bluetooth makes it feel really good one of my favorites just cause the wii mote and sword stuff feels naturally

A lot of peoples issues i see with a lot of people who dislike certain Zelda games boils down to them being bad at the game. Like skyward sword motion controls, spacial awareness of ocarina and majora, dungeons and combat of lttp.
Play I don’t know about the other games but the motion mechanics in skyward sword NEVER worked for me lol

I'm not a huge fan of OoT myself and can't play Majora bc it makes me too anxious with the countdown. It was definitely amusing to hear Bob's reasons for various games. Twilight Princess was the only one that stung but I understand the getting stuck- I didn't really sit and try to play the game through much myself until the remake
As someone who never played any Zelda game, I almost 100% agree with the list. The only change I would make is I would put Majora's mask maybe in A. The theme seems very cool
I bought the Wii with Twilight Princess when it released and fell in love with the game. Enjoyed it so much I bought the GameCube copy just because of it being mirrored. That being said I can't even remember the cat. Just happy I didn't have a bug and got to enjoy one of my favorite Zelda games.

Kind of funny how Wood was so triggered by Super Mario Bros movie trailers spoiling the movie, but then they full on spoil Ganondorf for TOTK and it's all good. C'mon that's a really big spoiler, you could tease him but not full on show him as they did. Just imagine the reactions in real time when people played it. It's not like people didn't at least suspect we would see Ganondorf in his Gerudo form, but they didn't have to be so obvious, keep the mystery!

Zelda had the full TriForce at the end of BotW when sealing Ganon. Going after Ganondorf for the TriForce of Power wouldn't entirely make sense but i like where you're going with that theory.
