This needed to be 10 minute highlights.
The 60th minute onward could be a highlight reel by itself. Best match I've seen all year.
What a game this was. I feel like this is the best game in MLS history. Good game to Sounders. Unlucky
Abdullahi Mohamed Tbh I think Timbers vs Sporting KC in the 2015 knockout round was more exciting than this game, but they’re both really, really good
@@thehutch1674 no the seatlle sounder vs trotol is the mls gogld cup was the best
Toronto vs Montreal 2016 conference final was better
First El Trafico was better.
My team lost but I have to say this will probably go down as one of MLS’s best games.
This is EL CLÁSICO of USA 🇺🇸 Good game
Indeed
Honestly was a perfect game for a neutral supporter. So much excitement and good soccer.
Sam Thompson Do you follow MLS?
@@usarugbyleagueunionfan yes, why?
Sam Thompson Me too. Started in 1996. Love it.
@@usarugbyleagueunionfan yeah we started following it when we moved over here and it's been really fun to watch it develop over the years with talent increasing so much.
Sam Thompson It’s wonderful seeing Rooney come over here and really enjoy his football. I hope more players come over and I honestly believe the draw to play in North America will only get
Stronger.
Anyone else watching this video for the third time after watching the whole shebang on TV, then highlights from two other sources?
thomasthatsit me lol
That was an absolutely thrilling match and I loved it. Ruidiaz is such a quick and deadly striker...like a pit viper.
Best Timbers I've seen apart from the penalty shootout back in the magic year of 2015
0:45 Honestly, what is this clearance?
That was a great assist.
The best part of this game was our timbers thinking that we had won after extra time bc they didn't know that away goals don't count in extra time
You have a brain…holla Twitter ⚽️
I'm French but the best league is cleary the MLS !!
I Ligue 1 was my local league I'd say the same
Vamos Portland krajo desde Paraguay
Damn Seattle sports fans can’t catch a break...this was a great game though!
Best match of the MLS
Great game the MLS gets better every year..better players means better teams the playoffs are really exciting to watch 👏👏👍
Nice goals great work of art
One of the most tense games I’ve EVER seen wow!!
Honor in Seattle, they fought a lot
Seattle forever
What a game! I was going for Seattle because it was so packed, and I would hate to see all those fans leave without a win. I know how it feels Seattle, I was at the game when Atlanta lost to the Columbus Crew last year in the knockout round.
And I know how it feels losing to real salt lake
What a game. I am a Whitecaps fan & these 2 teams put on a show.
Jesus this was insane!! gimme more!!!!!
Grande semifinal👍

Crazy attendance numbers, crazy game, and overall a good match.
PTFC 💚 That’s my local sports team
02:28 Are the Portland players unaware that penalty shootout follows? It looks like some of them are celebrating when the referee blows the whistle...
Boutros Boutros Boutros Ghali yep. Clueless players
in fairness in many other leagues they would win on the away goal rule but not the case in the US as it seems
Because the Timbers has more away goals. They thought away goals in extra time still counted, which I would’ve thought too but the broadcast said penalty kicks would follow. They didn’t know the rule, and Zerek Valentine had to explained it to them, which you could see on the live broadcast
@@HeavyRRRMetal yeah I also though they'd won...
Boutros Boutros Boutros Ghali Yeah, they thought the away goals tiebreaker was in play when in fact Ruidiaz's goal in 2nd half stoppage time eliminated that tiebreaker. Pay attention, Timbers!!!! 😡😡😝😝 (Now if the 3-2 Sounders score was in regular time, then Portland could celebrate. 😊😊)
shiver me Timbers!
Much improved Portland Timbers team
This game was very disappointing for me being a Sounders fan but we won the cup 2 years ago and Portland needs it
Yeah and Portland won it the year before Seattle. Remember? I'm sure PDX will take a 2nd trophy if they get the chance. It's a tough road to the Finals.
Portland: 2-1 Cup winner in 2015
Seattle: Has never scored a goal in the the MLS Cup...and won't this year either.
@@kbaczerker But you do know the Sounders have made the playoffs every year? They hang their hat on that one. Don't mention goals scored.....not so much.
@@kbaczerker also you played columbus, a bad team (no hate towards columbus), and we played Toronto, one of the best
@@kbaczerker Seattle: CONCACAF winners (bragging rights in MLS and Liga MX), 2x MLS Cup

Wait, so do away goals not count after extra time?
vicli vlog They count only toward the aggregate, not tiebreakers. The only exception would be the 'golden goal', which is in and of itself a tiebreaker because the first team to score during extra time wins. But otherwise, if the aggregate and away goals are tied after regular time in leg 2, 30 minutes of extra time is played plus stoppage time is played. If still tied after that, penalty kicks.
Let's go Timbers! GG to Seattle tho

🙏🙏💚💚
:52 Ruidiaz, the first one to do the cojones celebration.
Haven't they got away goals rule in MLS?
I'm pretty sure they made it so away goals in extra time don't count
@@robislike I meant Timbers had 2 away goals and Sounders only one. It was 3-3 aggregate. Shouldn't Timbers win it by away goals???
Sayan K Das No. Timbers had only ONE away goal during the regular 90 this leg, and it canceled out the lone away goal Seattle got. Tiebreaker fails; extra time cometh, and you saw the rest.
didn’t seattle win 3-2? why did they go to pk?
It was two leg the other team won 2-1 last time
Tony Man Seattle won 2-1 after the regular 90, the same as the Portland win in leg 1. Both teams scored 1 away goal, so the tiebreaker fails and 30 minutes of extra time is added and played out. Away goals at this point are irrelevant in terms of tiebreakers, but count toward the aggregate score; both teams got 1 goal in the extra 30, so since the game was still tied, PKs come.
What happent Seattle???
No away goals?
Mls had a stupid rule the negated away goals in extra time
Damn. This was as good a match / clasico /Derby as any in the world., I've seen uglier clasicos from some of the better teams in the world (You're Barcelona's V RM, C.America V C.D.G) You had a culmination of the fueled sour tastes of disdain from both cities Seattle and Portland. I was heart broken as bad as in 2017 when we lost to Toronto FC in the MLS Cup final to have a chance to be a repeat, but this match had a pressure cooker of goals to be had. Sure in some instances it may not have been the prettiest game, but dammit was it a hotly contested game. I'm sad that this year they're doing away with the 2 legged aggregate series. No matter what naysayers say about the confuison between how the Aggregate series works, it's still creates an excellent environment and match especially in instances such as these. Let's Go SOUNDERS FC!!!
What. A. Game.
You are way too late with your uploads

Jeez mls took you a couple days to get this video up, you’re slow
It's a loooong video, these are usually 1-2 minutes, this one is 4 minutes long.
El unico que tira bien los penales en *Seattle* creo que es Ruidiaz , los demas son muy malos :D
Mejor Ruidiaz hubiera tirado todos los penales 😃
I disagree with the disallowed goal
He scored with his hand. Unless you're Argentinean why would you disagree with that?!
Wish it wasn't disallowed, but that was right.

No, Ruidiaz had a disallowed goal which was scored with his hand.

they honestly shouldnt of gone to penalties. in europe if this was the result before the penalties they would win on away goals
Goal in extra time doesn't count.
limon Goals in extra time don't count, unless there's a golden goal (next goal during extra time wins).
@@johnathanpatrick6118 In the MLS, you mean
@@goncaloferreira4973 Not true. See Porto v. Roma. :)
(go-ahead goal was scored, but that was NOT leg over.)
@@johnathanpatrick6118 What? The game went 3-3 to extra time. Porto scored. Roma would have managed to win with a 2-3 if they scored afterwards.
Portland got robbed
So Seattle scores you show multiple highlights of it but Portland scores and you quickly go to the next highlight hmm sense whoever made this video is a Seattle fan who’s butthurt 😂
Seattle definitely ain't butthurt now being CONCACAF champions. What a difference 2018 and 2022 can make.

HAHA SCREW YOU SEATTLE
HAHA SCREW YOU 2022 CONCACAF CHAMPIONS SEATTLE.
This game shouldn't have had penalty shootout. Portland scored more away goals than Seattle, so they should have advanced without penalties.
Lol ikr
It was 2-1 portland first 90 and 2-1 seattle second 90. The extra time goals do not count toward the away tie breaking rule.
For some reason away goals no longer count when extra time starts. It’s just play to win
Wrong, there's no away goals after extra time.
It wouldn't be fair on the away team of the first leg, they'd only have 90 minutes to score away goals, while the away team in the 2nd leg would have 120 minutes to score away goals. So if it's tied on aggregate after full time, a team can only win outright, not on away goals.
João Pedro Vuelma 2-1 Portland won leg 1, 2-1 Seattle won leg 2. Away goals are tied, so extra time is necessary and the away goals are irrelevant apart from the aggregate score. Had this been 'golden goal', then you'd be correct for the wrong reason.
