Galaxy fan here too. To be honest, Seattle is my 2nd favorite team due to Sigi Schmid. Not only has an MLS team did it, but it was Seattle, with a Sounder through and through Brian Schmetzer at the helm. So proud of you guys. Congrats and well earned.

@@espectador- like i said, cause of sigi schmid. He was the galaxy coach and helped us win our first championship before he became Seattle's coach, schmetzer was his assistant. I had met him, real cool guy, he passed away a few years ago.

Portland Timbers fan here, congrats to the Sounders. It makes me want to puke that it was you guys but it’s so great for both MLS and the CCL that you guys won. If we can go toe to toe with Liga MX and makes CCL more competitive and interesting, the whole continent of football will benefit.

Wow! Just wow! What an electric atmosphere. Congratulations Seattle and also MLS on your first CONCACAF Champions league title. From an Englishman who has followed the MLS since the days of only 10 teams and matches in near empty football stadiums. With the gridiron markings more prominent on the field than the penalty box. And when the only games on UK TV were shown "in progress" on channel 5 at 4:25 in the morning after the baseball. The season before the league came incredibly close to folding. To see how far it's come and how far it can still go has been an honour. Football/soccer (I'm not fussed) fans in America may be smaller in numbers compared to the other top 4 sports. But you are just as passionate and in some cases more passionate than fans of a lot of teams in Europe. Well done!

There are many MLS fans in other U.S. & Canadian cities. The dedicated Sounder fans have been this way since the franchise began to play in the MLS in 2009.

@@andreihiris6670 Yea i admit MLS has a looong ways to go. But the product on the field and the way the league is marketed gets better every year. With such a big country with large markets if they continue their trajectory it will eventually start to close the gap. Most leagues in europe have teams over a 100 years old. Takes time to build those type of fan bases and history. So far so good for MLS.

But as the sport continues to grow and the young athlete's start to choose soccer over the other sports it's not out of the realm of possibility they could catch up. Other MLS teams, take note: this is the level of spending, of GM savvy and fan dedication it takes to win CCL in our salary cap league. The gauntlet has been thrown.
First thing our game said "we are just the spear. Clubs like NYCFC and LAFC will be here soon. We just opened the door. This league is on the rise"
We have probably 5 teams that 100% deserve these games and would rep.
That was one of the most fun events I've ever performed for. As a busker, there are only so few Championship games that can happen, so enjoy the win to it's fullest.

That second goal is a testament of how much MLS has progressed in relatively little time. Just 15 years ago you couldn't even have dreamt of a team goal like that, teams in MLS could barely give 3 consecutive passes. Now not only they produced this wonderful and very precise counterattack involving 6 players, but also they did it against a Liga MX team at the hottest moment of a final. Respect.

DC United and L.A. Galaxy won CCL when it was Concacaf Champions Cup. I dont think the FIFA Club World Cup existed when DCU won it. When the Galaxy won it, they cancelled the Club World Cup that year.

In the 12 years since the Sounders entered MLS, they always made the playoffs, won 4 U.S. Open Cups, a Supporter's Shield, went to 4 MLS finals in 5 years and won 2 MLS Cups. Went to 6 finals in all competitions in the last 6 years. Not to mention they won 5 Cascadia Cups. No MLS team has won that much silverware or be as successful in the last 12 years.
Also their Seattle Sounders Academy U-17 just beat Tigres UANL 2-0 to win their 2nd Generation adidas Cup Champions/Premier Division only a few weeks ago. They even beat Santos Laguna and then CF Monterrey in the semi-final. They defended their title that they first won in 2019 (pre-pandemic) when the Sounders beat U-17s from Flamengo, Riverplate, West Ham, and Valencia to be the first club from MLS U-17 to win the title. *And the first from North America. Then there are the Youdan Trophy title from 2016. Beating teams from Everton and Newcastle. Seattle has one of the best if not the best academies in the league. You can see the U-17 at 1:25 when Raúl Ruidíaz ran to them to celebrate after he scored the first goal.
