Best truck ever. I have a 2010 LTZ, previously had a 2004 Z71. Tows really well, and you can put 2500lbs in the bed no problem. Super comfortable ride, easy to work on yourself, and the locking storage compartments are such a bonus.

The Avalanche has an active fuel management system and drops to 4 cylinders when the full 8 are not required. It certainly saves fuel on flat and down hill terrain, but don't expect it to make a dramatic difference if you live in an area that changes altitude and terrain frequently. That being said, nobody buys a large vehicle for fuel economy. I bought my 2007 Avalanche brand new and still own it today. I have thought about trading it in, but I have never found anything that I consider better.

My 2004 going strong as ever with 165k. Does everything I need. You sacrifice gas mileage and have a truck that can haul 8foot items while keeping them completely dry, seat 5 large passengers comfortably, load up a quad or motorcycle ect.. everything that a truck or SUV can do - the Avalanche does.

Not until 2013 I think. I hope they change their mind. I have had my avalanche 9 years and it still feels like new. It has been the best vehicle I have purchased.

I bought a 2009 brand new and still have it. All around awesome vehicle. Will be hard to replace it, I don't want a plain, common F150 or Silverado.

Just picked up a 2012 Avy myself, it has a lot of features that I still haven’t found

A lot of people dog the Avy but I just purchased a 2012 with 40k miles for 25k. The reasons I purchased the the Avy. 1) Family car that has 4 wheel drive. I have a 7 series BMW but sucks in snow and I just reach 110k so I will sell by the summer. 2) I test drove a Silverado and the Avy has a way better ride 3) I only have 1 child and only plan to have 2. So if we have more, then I will switch to Tahoe or Suburban. 4) I am a homeowner and this is great for hauling a new stove, fridge, dishwasher, AC unit, mulch, and junk. I can tow my motorcycle and Can am Spyder. I do not own a boat and do not plan on owning a boat so I don't need to tow anything big. I may a get Jet Ski for the summer but the Avy can easily tow that. So the Avy is perfect for my situation. If you are buying this for a work truck or travel trailor, then I would say get a Silverado 1500 or 2500, Ford F-150 or F-250, Tacoma, etc. But I personally think the 07-13 Avy look better than the Silverado, Ford F-150, or Dodge Trucks and get compliments daily from random people. Also, gas is currently $1.45 where I live and I filled up on 87 gas for $37. In my 7 series I spend $50-$60 on a fill up because I have to use 93. I fill up every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. So if you want a Family Truck/SUV that comfy, luxurious but can also save you money from renting a vehicle when traveling to Lowes, Home Depot, etc then go for Avy (mid-gate). If you need to truck to perform as a work truck. Then go for a truck with a truck with a tailgate. if you need a vehicle to transport more than 5 people the go for a Tahoe, Suburban or a mini-van.

My grandparents have a 2002 Avalanche (first year it came out) and they just love it. The only reason they are considering getting rid of it is because of the fuel economy. the z66 on-road package handles very well even in the snow with traction control. Ive driven the truck and i do really like it, however i drive an f150 so im used to a normal truck, which i really like as well.

I own a 2010 LTZ and I just love it. A few ticks here and there ( door handles) but a great ride . GM needs to bring this one back.
