Next: Let's have Henry Cavil or Anya read the "Dear Friend" letter!
YES!!
YES!!!!!!
Indeed!!!
Yessssss
YESSSSAAAA
I love how she effortless slips in and out of character once she's reading her character's lines.
I know. That was pretty cool!
I know she is amazing! Love her 😍
Please have Anya read more of this. This deadlier version of Yen sounds fascinating
I did like the change where Yen had to use her wits without her magic but book Yen really is a force of nature. Anya naturally channels that ruthless, impenetrable side of Yen which I hope we see a lot more in later seasons.
Tak prawdziwa yen bez uczuć &this brutto voice
She’s way weaker in the books than in the show
@@lumatic6624 shes pretty fucking busted in the books
@@lumatic6624 Right. But she was much more interesting in the books. In the series she is only powerful because writers decided so. She is actually overpowered and steals a lot from the other characters. It was Vilgevortz who was the hero of Sodden. It was Philippa who was Tissaia's best student. It was Triss who was "The fourteenth of the Hill". Yennefer was just regular mage. She was one of the most talented and very powerful but what was more important is how determined and intelligent she was. One of the biggest disadvantages of the show is how easy characters earn their skills. Magic is no more a matter of long studies and hard work but simple "imagine the outcome and do it". Witcher training is no more brutal and long process but merely a few exercises.
Book Yen’s dialogue with its Anya’s voice sounds so frightening. I really hope we get this scarier more “in control” version of Yennefer closer to the books next season.
That's the issue I felt with her. Yennefer in the books seems alot more self-assured. Hopefully we'll see it going forward in the show.
@@1Chasg The writers deliberately did that in the series. We have Tissaia now, taking on the dominant role (motherly to Yennefer). And from the books, we know where Tissaia is going later, that's when Yennefer will replace Tissaia to be that strong one (just like how we know her in the books)
Best way to watch the show is to separate it from the other witcher media you consumed. No medium of the witcher universe is connected to one-another in any of their canon
@@junjinwong8002 IMO opinion it’s good writing. Characters need proper arcs, it like how they changed Aragorn from the bland flat character he was in books into a much more conflicted and unsure character in the films.
version of Yennefer closer to the books next season ? yeah right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Let's start a petition to have audiobooks of The Witcher narrated by Anya Chalotra.
But Ehmyr must be Charles Dance.
And by Henry Cavill
Agreed. That was great
The Audiobooks read by Peter Kenny are perfection, his voices are spot-on for every character.
This scene is so much more badass in the books, but I will give the show credit for how they handled it in that it was a lot braver of Yennefer to save Dandelion WITHOUT her powers, and her clever thinking with blowing alcohol on Rience flame was a really nice touch!
When Anya reads yennefers line her tone gets similar to that in the show and it has me aching for season 3 😩😩
I would love for Anya to read the letter Yennefer sent to Geralt xD that one was hilarious
What letter, is it in the books
@@daliamohammedali5906 yes it is, search "dear friend" letter
@@gabrieldiaz980 I just did, thank you
I agree with the comments below, releasing audiobooks with the Netflix cast voicing the characters would be amazing.
Absolutely amazing!!!!!
With Doug Cockle narrating.
The suddelty in Anyas acting, even while just reading the book is AMAZING! Absolutely adore her as Yennefer.
Just imagine, how perfect Anya's Yen would be if they let her speak and act the way she is in the books.
I don't think she can portray that sort of a woman. She's a bit too young, and don't get this wrong, but pompousity doesn't match with her overall demeanor. Yen's very franctic, a highly posh, neurotic sort of a woman
@@subutaynoyan5372 Some people can always surprise you with their talents.
@Emmanuel Araujo Oh man I don't even start on Geralt. Cavill have me sold in first season, but here, he lookst like some overly muscled brute who looks more like some man-at-arms for a war party than a witcher.
He looks way too stiff, handsome and one dimensional for Geralt. I always saw him as someone who has a very cynical, ominous vibe.
Geralt in the games were not that accurate either. But at least he looked someone who's really quick and agile with a sword.
I think Sapkowski was spot on about he'd want Mads Mikkelsen in that role. That's the guy who should've assumed the mantle
@@subutaynoyan5372 Wait Sapkowski wanted Mads Mikkelsen for Geralt's role too? That's cool!
Anyways nice too differing opinions on Cavill since majority seems to feel that he was made to be Geralt. I know that from book descriptions Geralt should look more rugged than Cavill does.
Seeing her without power is painful this Season, that's how good she is as an actress. Don't you feel the pain ?
No I just think it's just fucking ridicilous and nonsensical to have Yennefer of Vengerberg powerless. I really don't buy the manipulation of sacrifice, Yen sacrificed so much in Sodden, and it was supposed to make her more, let's say, compassionate.
She basically tried to kidnap Cirilla and betray Geralt. I don't feel pain, I feel disdain for the writers' lack of competence.
Do you even know what sort of a woman Yennefer of Vengerberg they're trying to adapt is?
Good actress? Have you ever seen a movie?
@@guidoferrari5415 She is a fucking great actress. I didn't know her and I was ok with her in season 1 but I was/is blown away by her acting in season 2. It's all I could think of the whole time. The emotions in her eyes and voice she displayed there in contrast to the powerful/grumpy image she had in season 1 was amazing. Not so many actors could switch their tone based on every emotion and scenario like that. Put a respect on her name. She should be praised for it, definitely not the other way. I can't think of any reason to criticize her acting other than pure jealousy.
One of the few things I was annoyed by this season her without magic.
@@guidoferrari5415 Have you?
This just makes me want to read the books all over again!!
Just started with the first one, already have to order the second one!
@@p3rformer stop it bcs you will get dissapointed when you see that the books have no connection to the show. The show is just bad compared to the books and will make you frustrated.
@@erikkire7748 That is an understatement. It's as if the writers feel the need to deviate as much as possible in the hopes it gets them recognized to further their career, but what they give us is inferior to the source material.
I think I speak for all of us when I say: We. Need. More!! xD
Perhaps an audiobook with the cast?
Narrated by Doug Cockle.
@@SkipChylark oh now that would be a feast for our ears. Pls make it happen netflix and audible or what ever audiobook company there is
@@SkipChylark or narrated by whoever does the 'old Dandelion' voice for the loading screens in TW3. but i'd be happy with Doug Cockle too!
Anya' voice is very soothing ❤️
I damn love how she reads her words with such a smile and emotion. She was born to be Yennefer!
the Yennefer she never got to play
No
Yes, it's how she expresses herself
@@SzczypekPlay Damn true sadly
We don t need to talk ab her voice and how she reads, cause that s already known that she melts hearts like this but can we talk about how beautiful and outstanding she is?? Like she doesn t fit any standard in term of looks she doesn t even try and she is stunning absolutely breathtaking anya please take my soul!
Charming, articulate and such a BEAUTIFUL voice! She embodied Yen the moments she read her dialogues! Anya Chalotra truly is one of the most talented person in this generation and I'm immensely grateful for her as Yennefer.
No matter how the story goes, her performance as Yennefer of Vengerberg will forever remain ICONIC
Well said. She deserves all of our support
As an actress she's is wonderful but I dare say she doesn't fit the role.
I've played all the games, I've read all the books in slavic language even.
I love this universe more than anything but when the Netflix adapted the series and I've seen the cast I'm more than disappointed.
Henry Cavill is one of my favorite actors right after Tom Hardy who is my top but I still wouldn't want him for the witcher.
He is too buff and some of the side characters have more Slavic faces than Henry.
They nailed access for ciri, that one is spot on but I feel that the golden trio of Yennefer, Triss and Geralt are cast by wrong actors. Not bad ones, but wrong for these roles.
@@ArtaWorks Well, that’s your opinion… but thankfully it doesn’t represent the majority. Many book fans have problems with storytelling changes.. how they failed to adapt the blood of elves for 2nd season..Yet people like you still whining about casting. (They announced the cast in 2017/18. it was 4 or 5 years ago. So just get over the casting). If you're a true fan try focus more on storytelling, instead of focusing on actors appearance.
@@TD-xo4tg Eskel died end of story - not canon
@@ArtaWorks Season 2 is a terrible adaptation. I know that. But i don't blame actors for shit writing. But you're whining about casting, not about storytelling in your previous comment. So get over that first. because it was 5 years ago that they announced the cast.
The games aren't canon either, CDPR are borrowing characters, places and themes from the books, not contributing to the story. (Netflix is doing the same thing) Games are all after the books. Geralt and Yennefer died in the books and Ciri is 16 in the end of lady of the lake. Ciri is 21 in the games and Geralt and Yennefer are alive. So your precious games are worse than the show, because they even changed the ending of the books and gave it alternative endings.
So if it's not canon stop comparing show with the books. Lol. End of story
Anya reading a book, even its a horror story but im still enjoying in Anya sound its smooth i addicted with her
5:04 I LOVED this part!! The “pity pity” was so good!
I am glad she pronounces Dandelion correctly unlike the narrator of the audiobooks.
dandILLIon 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
@@MP-pn6kh In the german version of the audiobook the narrator cant pronounce "Scoia'tel". also very annoying.
The narrator fixes his pronunciation in the later books
@@hartincmajor202 thank god
I actually missed Dan-dil-ion in the later books . 🤣
If they ever created a series where each cast member read their part from the book and make a whole Witcher series audiobook collection, I won't care how much money it is, just take it!
It would be easier for the writers of the show to respect source material more and include some of the scenes from the books in the show. They changed too many things and their writing is not good :(
@@JanKowalski-th5re I don't even have the energy anymore to reply to fellow disspointed fans, let's hope netflix learn from their mistake
I could hear her voice all day long 🥰
Her reading is almost therapeutic 😌 Would love to listen to her reading the whole book
Can I seriously get these books on tape with Anya's voice?
I'd probably listen to any audio book read by her.
She has a lovely reading voice- and knows how to read for an audience.
Delightful!
Ok now I would love all the books narrated by her please, I would order that in a heart beat.
Her voice is lovely, I would listen to an entire audiobook narrated by her😍
Oh, this is heaven. Love Anya and her voice.
Yenneferrrrrrrrr my queen🥰
PLEASE HAVE ANYA READ THE "DEAR FRIEND" LETTER!!! That would be so epic, oh my god!
One of my favourite parts in blood of elves 🔥
The way she says “poor Jaskier” to me has a trace of Yen’s sarcasm in it 🤔
Her work in 'The Cipher' was mind blowing. She has an amazing voice.
She is really good, love when she just chance and become Yennefer in a second such a talent
Anybody still mad about her as Yen? After Her outstanding Performance? Really?
She still so young! But ... man ... she is indeed very talented!
I just ordered "the last wish", I am exited to read it for the first time!
Pretty much covers the entirety of the first season with scenes of Geralt with the exception of the golden dragon story that comes in sword of destiny.
You'll see how the show totally nailed the striga episode. Enjoy!
Better go for the whole saga, waiting for the next book to arrive will make you regret it 😂
@@mikes5637 The lesser evil was great too, and my personal favorite being "a question of price"

Dear lord they don’t know what they have here….. they could beat the pants off game of thrones - black sails - any of the others. This is gold I tell you!
They know we know Ayannefer makes The Witcher tick, trust me you won't change my mind...she's the best part of the show period.
Hearing Anya say Yen’s dialogue just showed us how good she would’ve been if the writers actually adapted the books properly 💔
Now this is how you do an audio book.
She looks very young even younger than her age
Anya is such a great actress and so delightful, she's my favourite from the show♥ I've already read all the books, but I wish they would release them in audiobooks & have Anya and the other actors narrate them, that would be cool!
We need more of Anya reading The Witcher!
Anya is brilliant as always!!!
Hehe, she embodies the dialogues very well. Not just her lines but the expressions of the characters as if she were dubbing them.
Anya's amazing as Yen
Love anya's voice
Now give those books to Hissrich so she knows what's in them.
She knows what's in the books.
@@LNER985 yeah ... especially in the last two episodes of season two. 😒
@@LNER985 ofc. Like Yen being powerless? Or that she actually wants to betray Ciri? Go read the books for yourself first....
@@erikkire7748 I have read the books and clearly you're not familiar with how adaptations work.
@@LNER985 The Witcher adaptation reminds me of a joke by late comedian Mitch Hedberg. “I like when they say a movie is inspired by a true story. That’s kind of silly. “Hey, Mitch, did you hear that story about that lady who drove her car into the lake with her kids and they all drowned?” “Yeah, I did, and you know what - that inspires me to write a movie about a gorilla!”
While The Witcher show isn't that far off, this "adaptation" as some try to call it isn't even close to the source material with a few exceptions.
I would like to see a more closely in-book iteration of Yennefer as she goes through a character development arc within the series. She's so frightening!
Both Yennefer and Anya are brilliant 😍 also can we get a reprint of the books with these covers?!
It's funny how nothing of that happened in the show xD
SHE IS EVERYTHING TO ME
Wow shes a wonderful reader. I could listen to her reading the whole book.
Anya, you read this wonderfully. Congratulations to you, the cast and crew on a successful Season 2! We, the fans, loved every bit of it.

The Witcher audio book read by Anya Chalotra, when?
I love Anya voice the way she talks I feel she s really a real yinnefer brave strong woman
I enjoy Anya in her roll as Yennefer in the show. Unfortunately I find that the writing has failed in most of the second season and I commend her for making the best of what she was given. I can only imagine how much better and what she would have done with a script closer to the source material.
She reads incredibly 😍😍😍💔⚔️
Don't be shy let joey read the dinner scene next

Yes! I need these audio books!
Funny thing I was reading this part just yesterday (for the second time) it would be great to watch other actors (as well as Anya) from the series read parts from the book.
I love these reads we get it’s better than reading the books myself!! I wish some audio recordings were made by the cast it would surely be a hit I’m sure!!
People: I'm gonna order the books now.
Me: *just casually looks over her neat row of 8 Witcher novels that have been read over a dozen times*
Aren’t you fortunate, to have discovered these fantastic books and enjoyed them for years! I just am tickled to have found the audiobooks, and listened to them on several long drives. Only learned over Christmas that both my son and husband, have happily played through all the Witcher games years ago.
@@patpierce4854 I only started reading the books in 2019 AFTER having played Witcher 3. Then, with too much time on my hands, I just hyperfixated on that universe and obsessed over the material til I knew every detail (almost, some things are still confusing cuz given as my copies are English translations, no doubt things were lost from the original but nothing to be done about that, lol)

@@leon930 They didn't fail and you're the one failing at being a Witcher fan. Putting your ego in front what is best for the franchise and community.
@@LNER985 fun fact i haven't played the games nor read the books so your assumption makes you just sound as stupid as you probably are. The show is written like shit and that's a fact, if you're too blind to even see how many bad decisions are made there i am sorry but you just have no idea what good writing looks like. I am not a fan nor a hater, but it seems like you can't even see that there's a middle ground there. I recognize the show did something good and that's a fact, it's visually pleasing and i think the cast does a good job with what they're given, but if you can justify yennefer without powers to be suspected by the mages that she's a spy after stregobor looks into her mind and the only way to prove she's not is to kill another guy as if a spy wouldn't or them escaping on the only horse in a mile at the meeting with kings (which must be escorted by their knights) with all the mages there just watching i am sorry but you're totally delusional, this is trash in its purest form and i m sorry for you and the genre as a whole because if you find this good writing, these incompetent idiots will just be pushed to release more trash in the future.
edit. also i don't give a shit about the community, i am not part of it, i just watched a badly written show and that's what my comment is about.

Aw this is so cool I love these actor readings. I loved it for GoT too
Can someone please get Anya Chalotra to narrate one or even all the Witcher books for Audible?
One thing the show has done for me is change how I read the books and hear the characters voices in my head. I used to hear Geralt’s voice in the games when I read the books. I’d hear Yennefer’s, Dandelions, everyone from the games, that’s how I read their lines in the books. But now that the show is out, and you can put an actual real human face and voice to a character, I read these characters voices from that of the actors in the show. Now when I read Geralt, I hear Henry. I imagine Henry. And same goes for the rest.
I imagine that’s how it was for people who read Harry Potter before the movies came out and when they did they could finally put an actual voice and face to the books.
her voice 😍
I. Love. It. I need more of this😍
Loved her performance in both seasons of The Witcher....looking forward to her role in s3!! Seems from this video Anya has lost weight, she did look far more slimmer in s2 than s1. Don't lose any more weight pls...
