- How's it going everybody. Hopefully all of you are doing well. In today's video I wanted to go over 5 obscure tips and tricks on the infamous Roland SP-404SX. The reason I say they are obscure is because there is so much information about this sampler, so many videos that I found myself really thinking hard on which tips I can share with you guys today. So these are 5 tips that I was able to come up with. I hope that at least one of these tips is useful for any of you. I try'd my best to be as unique as possible knowing that a lot tips have already been covered on the Roland SP 404SX. For example SP vids did a great video showing a ton of different tips that were way cooler than mine lol but like I mentioned, I hope at least one of these tips is useful for you. Thank you for watching, make sure to subscribe to the channel and drop a like on this video for good luck. Thank you!

@DifferentZen happy to help bro!
Huge thanks for the shoutout man! Been watching your videos recently and really enjoying them ✨
Thank you brotha for the high quality content that you make. Very inspirational!
I think it's okay to cover things that have been before. Audiences vary and some folks might prefer your style of presenting over another. It's good to have choice.
Thanks for the video. I sub'd some time ago.
Appreciate it brother! Will def keep that in mind as I find myself doing the same.
I subscribed just cause you a real one for shouting out another channel. Big respect bro
Appreciate it yo! Welcome to the channel!
Oh man I been looking for your channel yo!🙏 So much inspiration here.
Appreciate that man!!
Some great advice on there! Thanks for putting this together 💙
Appreciate that! Thank you
haha nice i didnt knew the sample speed adjustment, i always used the djfx-looper and just pitched down, so big thanks to you 🙂
Yeah man it's a neat little trick that can shift the sample one way or another. You're very welcome!!!
My first day with the SP. This is very helpful. Thank you!!
Awesome! Happy to help
Glad you still have an SP. I love their workflow. I have an sp555 and these videos are helpful even tho it’s a different model
Thank you bro! The SP is such an important part in every setup. Love the FX too much to let it go lol
chrisgalactic beats true man the effects are amazing. I’m still learning how to get samples that work with each other but tinkering with the effects often times helps find a way to fit them together well. I’m still a beginner but it’s so fun
This is dope bro
Thanks brotha!
the pattern select one right on time, thanks
Happy to help!
Love this video man. Keep them coming! I asked SPVIDZ for a video on song structure (expanding from a loop, to having choruses, bridges, etc). I'm asking you as well, since you have a somewhat different workflow, with pattern sequencing.
Thank you! With out a doubt I'll give it a try sound like a good idea!
@@chrisgalactic awesome! I'm stoked to see it!
Now he's gonna make videos on the mpc live 2. Which I have mixed feelings about.
The live 2 is great especially paired with the SP it's a no brainer
@@chrisgalactic the new mpc line up starts to feel like daw and kinda makes the sp redundant. I have more fun with hardware anyway.
The last tip was dope for us. we've been trying to figure out how to adjust the bpm from 77 to 77.3, is it possible ?
If it only could Pitch Samples and Resaple from Pattern Sequence!
tip: get a pop filter for speaking into the mic.
Appreciate it! Theirs a specific one for SM58 that I've been wanting to pickup
My sampler's been sitting my closet for the past 10 years.
I really have no idea how to use this thing.
I have no idea how to make samples in time with each other.
I think it might be time just to sell it off to someone who might actually use it
What is tha lowest price you are willing to sell it for ?? I don't want to low ball you so I'd like to know your price range first
Appreciate the videos my man but your killin my ears with all that compression on your microphone!! 😵
It's not compression it's just the gain on my Audio interface I need to get a cloud lifter so I can get a cleaner gain stage without having to crank the crap out of my Audio interface lol Sorry about that!
@@chrisgalactic thanks for making it! Just wanted to give some feedback, no diss intended, m8. Appreciate your videos!
@@phonographiq no of course! Thank you for the feedback!
Man this thing is noisy
Yesss mega but that's kinda the charm
"obscure tips"... READ THE MANUAL! these are just basic operations. much more to explore on the 404
@@chrisgalactic Maybe. But i wouldnt say something is "obscure" if it is a normal thing. I felt clickbaited by that.
@@bitumenboyy chill he’s just tryna help people out
