I carry a flip top phone ($39.95) too. I've got a desktop & a laptop to access the internet & don't need to access the internet from my phone. Plus, all the money I save by NOT buying a $1,000+ phone lets me buy cool stuff like guns, ammo, armor & optics.
Listen up kids, CIA guy carries an old-school flip phone and doesn't text!
Thanks for watching. God bless!
Neither does Gibbs. 😂
time to put my grandpas motorola to use!
once you join the soup you're always a part of it
Don’t know why, “The Man” can still track it too by tower pings.
me and my girlfriend take our Beretta everywhere we go, Walmart, cafe, park,. we make sure we are prepared for some goon having a bad day and wants to take it out on innocent people. plus keep our kids safe. Im the guy that would save the day. Jason i like your videos. your a real talk dude . take care man
Mr. H. I am finding each one of your videos so darn practical. Gave some advice to my sister who taking a trip overseas based on your training. Thanks again for practical safety tips sir.
Sounds great!God bless you
You answered a number of questions! Thank you,!🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Changed my George Costanza wallet to the kind you have. Took a little getting use to but really like it now. Started training with the handgun and getting comfortable with it. Thanks for the good sensible advice you give.
My pleasure! Thank you for watching. God bless!
It might be a good idea to keep a new dummy wallet with a couple of bills but no identification in it, like credit, debit cards to hand over, or a diversion and drop it while handing it over to get a jump on the perp.
Nice choices. I'm a former infantry Marine and a former law enforcement officer with a couple of few years in special operations units, and my EDC kit is very similar.
I almost always carry at least one concealed handgun except, as you say, when I simply can not (normally my Wilson Combat EDCX9 because I absolutely love it) equipped with an 18 round magazine in a kydex belt holster, a decent tactical knife, a flashlight, an extra source of ammunition (another 18 round magazine), and a handkerchief/bandana in my back pocket because it has many potential uses.
I also carry in my laptop case to the office an emergency emt Gerber for cutting seatbelts and breaking windows, a tourniquet, and I keep a small handcuff key secured to the inside of my belt where I can get to it if my hands are secured behind my back.
I usually keep various extra mags in my vehicle for any number of firearms I may be carrying that particular day, a raid vest with "official" markings on it in the event I may have to respond to an active shooter situation, so I don't get shot by responding officers (as easily, at least), a first aid/trauma kit, and usually a long gun of some kind because I'd prefer not going into a long gun fight with just my handgun.
Yes, I realize the chances are almost nil that I'll probably have to use any of them, but I'm sure many others thought that too when the fit hit the shan and wished they'd had been more prepared. The worst feeling in the world is going into any life threatening situation unprepared and ill-equipped. I know that from experience.
Great videos, and thanks for your service to our country.
I truly appreciate you for sharing. Thank you, and God bless!
Handgun, medical kit in car, pen, paper, hair tie, folding hairbrush and folding ceramic cutlery knife, lip balm 😂
@@JasonHansonSpyBriefing may God bless you and yours, Sir.
thanks for your service!!
Jason, I love your content!
Gotta say that as a retired cop from Miami, I wished you had been offering your classes back in the day. The irony is that most everything you say is pure common sense. And so often it causes me to pause, reflect and then ask myself "now why didn't I think of this or that back then?".
Thank you, Steven! God bless!
Cool channel Jason, thank you for hosting this.
I've been carrying since i was 15 yrs old in 1971.
It's all in being inconspicuous and looking like nobody, lots of practice growing up in a city full of trouble and avoiding it like the plaque, because bringing it home was not an option, if you wanted a home to go back to. I've learned to spot trouble before they spot me and to recognize a set up before walking into one, but,,, always prepared to go savage if necessary. I wonder if you can really teach survival, I'm starting to believe No, you can't, a person either has it or they don't. I've learned some nifty stuff from you, I've already put into practice, thank you.
My pleasure! Thank you for sharing. God bless!
I was on 3 or 4 dozen overseas TDYs and a couple PCS. I only carried in denied access areas, which was maybe 2-5% of my trips. Never carried the majority of the time. In the jungles I visited, I carried a Sig P226.
Exactly who are you telling and why?
In France now you can walk around with Molotov cocktails to blend in 😅
Thanks for watching. Stay safe and God bless!
I don’t smoke but a pack of Camels overseas will also get you out of a jam.
No shit , dude , 100 % correct .
Interesting comment .

If dogs are tracking you break up all the individual cigarettes in a whole pack and drop the tobacco in your tracks. The dogs noses will be out of action long enough for you to get away.

My large 🍆 and my tight 🍑🕳 has gotten me out of many dangerous jams overseas as well.
Thank you Jason and yes, God Bless America
You're Welcome! God bless you
My grandpa always taught me to carry an emergency $100 ❤
I always carried 2 $50 bills in my shoe when I was in the Navy....especially when on liberty
Great common sense advice Jason. I`ve been on a burner for over 30 years and never text as well. Thank you and God bless you.
Thank you for watching too! God bless you and your family too!
And God bless you and yours. PS. The TAC Pen, mine, traveled, by air, & with me, with never a worry! So a very Excellent EDC ITEM!
Very nice! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and God bless!
Hmmm Sounds like my normal carry stuff, aside from my beloved S&W 36 in 38 SPL AND a means to make fire. In my case, a Bic and my trusty Zippo. When I was trained, it was beaten into my head that a Mk 1 Human should be able to survive on dry land so long as he has a cutting tool and the means to make a fire. God bless you and yours, Sir!
Thank you for sharing! God bless you!
“Pocket litter” … i haven’t herd that phrase in a while 🙂 money clips are good for muggers, when you pull it out, make sure they see the cash then toss it a little ways away, they will follow the money which gives you a chance to clear space between you and then you have more options, run, fight or shoot your way out of harm.
Thank you for watching! God bless!
i had a friend who was in the OSS and later CIA...he never carried...he was good at his job
Living outside of the USA, carrying a gun is pretty much unnecessary, and mostly illegal, and it's damned nice to not live in a fear level where carrying 2 guns as EDC seems necessary.
Other than guns, pretty nice overview, and some nice specific items
It's amazing how quickly one sees "civilization" fade away when going south or east from, let's say, the EU, and cash is a pretty important tool, as you point out, everywhere.
I'd suggest a small RFID blocking wallef for your cards. It's all too easy to have someone tap you as they stand next to you in line or something.
Thanks for watching. Stay safe and God bless!
@JasonHansonSpyBriefing thanks for what you do, my friend. Blessings.
Hi Jason. Yeah, most people has a miss perseption about the world of spy's. Most of the time first thing came to mind, oh James Bond... James Bond is Hollywood you people. Out there in the field is so NOT James Bond world. I've been working fourteen years under cover and it wasn't James Bond's world with flashy cars and dropped dead gorgeous girls. No ways. That was hard core reality..
Nice video Jason. Be safe and God bless.. Greatings from Capetown down in South Africa....😊
Thx for sharing!
You're welcome! Thank you, too!
Jason, I always cracked up when James Bond would walk into a room looking dapper (Sean Connery couldn't help but look great.) Everyone seemed to know him and his favorite drink... vodka martini, shaken not stirred. He wasn't exactly a gray man. lol
Guns on person are illegal where i live but everything else matches what i carry daily. Probably also pays being of the larger body frame that so much fits into pockets. With my 5`4`` clothing sizes are tinier and knife for instance has to be in the backpack
Thank you for sharing- God bless!
Kindle: check. Smartphone: check. Reading glasses: check. Ready to bug out to the coffee-shop.
But I still enjoyed your video.
P.S. If I was still living in San Diego, I would want to carry a pistol. A knife? No. I can disarm anyone threatening me with one.
Thank you for watching! God bless you
regular Bic (clear) cristal ballpoint pen.

no watch? what is holding your cards together? rubber strap? hair tie?
See? That's why I respect you. That setup is simple, yet optimal and so damn stylish. ♡
So nice of you, I truly appreciate it. Thanks! God bless!
What do you think of multitools as alternatives to pocket knives in non permissive environments?
Good narrative. When you're undercover the term E Pluribus Unum is appropriate. Out of Many, One. Blend in...
Good point! Thanks for watching. God bless!
My pen got taken by TSA in Albuquerque NM
Of course, it looks too tactical and has a glass breaker on the end. Buy a Bastion Stainless Steel Pen.
never noticed the socialism stopper shirt......it's crazy cuz there's definitely socialism in the u.s. it's just for those that have lobbyist

Love this video! Thanks for this. God bless you.
Glad you love it! Thank you, too and God bless!
As I get older I find that I don't want the hassles of an autoloader so if I can get away with concealing it I am going back to a simple small J frame size revolver. Yes like you I currently carry the micro compact SIG P365 and my sub compacts to a lesser degree because of concealment size and capacity. All the capacity in the world will do no one any good if they are not competent in accuracy whether autoloader or revolver and we are responsible for every round that leaves our gun with a lawyer attached to every bullet. By Ellifritz real world shooting cases only two to three rounds are fired for most shooting events or gunfights to stop a threat.
Military surplus 9mm used for old smg’s are loaded hot and give two hundred or more feet per second 😊they are also sealed for moisture

Hello Jason - I noticed you've been wearing what appears to be a Dosimeter Badge on your collar.
Can you share what it is and if it's something worth investing in?
Cheers!
I'm curious about what brand of knife in this video.
One time i got stopped for my tac pen was at a court house for jury duty. No problem first week, first day of second week they checked it in, but gave it back at the end of the day
Carry a fountain pen. That's a real old school way.
Thanks for the video

Had to laugh at the "box of holsters" comment. Pretty much _every_ handgun owner has the box or drawer of "failed holsters". 😋

If John Wick can kill 3 men with a pencil, imagine what he could do with a tactical pen.
That would be too cool! Thanks for watching. God bless!
Well John wick is fake and Jason is real so there is a big difference.
@@briandickey2201: I noticed that James Bond, Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt are fake, as well. So is Jonny Quest.

I think the same goes for training. I have been a firearms instructor for a few decades. I have my students show up with the gear for class that meets the context. For my civilian classes, DO NOT show up in full battle rattle. Leave your plate carriers and battle belts at home. For cops, show up with your duty belt as normally set up, etc. As to EDC for regular people, I agree. Carry certain things but be simple and reliable.
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and God bless!
JMO- if you have one of those
"tac vests " you ordered online
with a dozen magazines in the
front, fall forward to the prone
firing position without catching
yourself as if there was incoming fire with your dozen magazines in place, and see if it works for you like you thought it would
What brand is that pocket holster?
Pretty good, however I also carry: a flat credit card sized tracker in my wallet (so harder to lose), an Apple AirTag on my key ring, and a few bandaids in my wallet. I also carry an OTF automatic knife, a AAA cell tiny flashlight, tiny pepper spray. I don't carry a firearm. I carry two phones, one of them is a cellular Apple Watch pro. How could you never text in your life ?
Jason, do you carry or recommend carry of OC or pepper spray? Thanks
I can. As someone who has used them over 20 times. Fox labs oc spray. It’s THE BEST. 2nd place police magnum oc 17. Have used others and they didn’t stop the threat. Like Sabre red. Terrible.
What is the fixed blade knife in the thumbnail of this video?
Great video, as always. What brand of Kydex pocket holster did you choose? Thank you!
I am also interested in this. I also carry the original 365

You and I must have been separated at birth, as my EDC is very much in-line with what you're carrying. I like wrapping paper money around my cards and I use a heavy duty rubber band to keep it all wrapped up. Thanks for another great video!
You're welcome Chris! God bless you
Good One Jason. When you were in Chino Hills, were you training anyone from Calvary Chapel Chino Hills? Working with their staff for instance?
Sir, i am from India and here gun laws are very tight for civilians we have less options like 32 bore and .22 in handguns what should I chose revolvers or pistols?
Nice! I’d also have pepper spray too.
Great !Thank you for sharing!

Hmmm, the stuff in your pockets looks exactly like the stuff in my pockets. My dad worked for the government and we had some great conversations.
That tactical pen is not getting through a TSA checkpoint at airports-it looks too tactical plus it has a glass breaker on the end. I have purchased three of your tactical pens. Bastion stainless steel pens work better at the airport. TSA has questioned the heaviness of the stainless steel pen but it go through. It all depends on the checker.
They literally had one in the case of examples of banned items when I went through TSA last weekend
How do you communicate without txt messages?

Jason what would you carry for self defense in a gym? Its pretty hard to conceal
weapons in gym clothes
Fanny pack or a belly band with a compact handgun is best in the gym.
You can always take the fanny pack off and wrap it around your water bottle when you're doing more physical activities that require lots of bending and flexibility. Just keep it close.
If you don't get really sweaty and uncomfortable when wearing a belly band while exercising then that's an even better option.
Great choice Jason. Excellent video. God bless.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. Stay safe and God bless!

I’m amazed TSA hasn’t confiscated your tactical pen yet. They took mine the first time I tried to fly with it.

And let's be honest, flip phones are so much cooler.

in Southeast Asia my dear this handcuff key won't help you much - every region every state mostly has its own locks - and as a CIA operative you should know that
oh yes - nobody needs two handguns - this one, which is always there if possible, ensures safe handling and always the same hit ability - and you will never be able to kill more than three attackers, the fourth is always on you
