Just got a lite yesterday from target, they stocked up and sold out that same day, it should be here by April 9 but I think amazon said they’ll be stocking up on switches on the 13 or 14th of April.

I definitely prefer the Lite, maybe it's just because I grew up with the DS/3DS but I think Nintendo games work best on handheld. I always preferred to play mario games on my DS compared to the Wii, the only difference was that the Wii had better graphics but with the Switch Lite that won't be the case.
reasons I want the lite:
1. it’s smaller and therefore more portable
2. I’d only be getting it for Pokémon Sword and Animal Crossing, and both are compatible with handheld mode, so I don’t need the other modes.
3. it’s cheaper and I’m pretty much broke
unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any anywhere, as pretty much all my go-to places are sold out. :C

I want the switch lite for a variety of reasons
1) The rest of my family is constantly on the TV, so I would hardly ever dock the switch
2) All of the games I like are switch lite compatible
3) I just like playing handheld
4) I’m only 14, and the $100 dollar difference is a big sell for me
So that’s why I’m going to get the Switch Lite 😁

DarkForceEvo So basically, the problem has been that with the long term use, the sticks will start to drift (start moving whenever you’re not touching the stick) and since the Switch lite has no way of removing the controllers, you’ll be stuck with that stick drift. I’m pretty bad at explaining myself but you can look it up if you’d like.

*I don't play in tv because my family members always watch tv
*i think smaller screen makes it more crispy
*I can spend 200$ for switch and the other 100$ for games and online
I bought a switch lite for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and it’s worked out wonderfully for me. It has the portability I need and the games I want to play, plus the screen has a nice comfortable feel.

This helps quite a lot. I was debating between the normal and the lite and I think I’m going to go for the normal. You have the opportunity to get so much more out of one device without having to buy multiple accessories. Only down side is I don’t like the red and blue side bits but it’s worth it for a bigger screen and all the added features it comes with. I really want to use it for the fitness stuff you can get as it’s probably the only exercise I could make myself do. And I could play games with my friends saving me ah fun to buy a massive console like an Xbox or something. It’s decided

I have both Switch handheld (the first one I bought) and Switch version 2. After getting hooked with God of War 2018 in PS4, I realized open world games are meant to be played on wide or TV screen. I never regret buying v2 because I have backup Switch if one of it needs repair. I seldom play the lite version because I seldom go outdoors like malls, etc. I love both no matter what.
The lite looks better. But the switch is better function-wise. Grrr.

Bigger screen, more controllers, customisibility, being able to replace the joycons with more comfortable alternatives.

Better doesn't mean more convenient, yes the Switch has a bigger screen but that means the entire thing is bigger than the Lite, that also means it's easier to tell its in 720p. Yes the Switch has the joycons, but I don't want the detachable joycons. You can't just label everything as a positive, they all have their drawbacks. It just makes you sound salty because you'd rather have the Lite but don't want to admit it, that might be untrue but how would I know any better.

I have a switch that’s mostly docked cause I thought I didn’t like handheld but I bought the lite and DAMN the lite got me hooked on handheld it’s so comfy the original switch feels so heavy and clunky

Jon Day Hey buddy I have an Xbox One X pushing out incredible native 4K visuals at 60fps. I won’t be using my switch as a primary console, hence why I got the lite.
Everyone always wants to call a device "chunky" when a cheaper smaller version comes out. 🙄 The switch V2 was actually way smaller than I though it would be when I took it out the box. And the devices side by side in the store is really not that much difference in size. It is only one joycon larger and joycons are really small.
Just bought it yesterday and loving it, it's smaller and lighter easy to carry around. I have og switch too but for me I like lite more than og

i had a regular switch and i sold the dock, always used it in handheld. Also i never bought games that required the removal of the joycons. I grew up playing on gameboys so i was super excited for the lite. It’s a great choice for someone like me 🙌🏻

This is how you dock a switch light first get an HDMI cord for your phone and connect it to a TV go on the camera app and put the camera on the switch lite screen

Then you have to buy a controller to connect to the switch lite so you can play on the tv which kinda leads you to spend as much money as you would do when you get the switch plus the tv might be lagging behind the lite.

Considering selling my switch to get a switch lite, biggest seller for me is the slight wobble feeling from the joycons not being apart of the system just sort of bugs my ocd, I don't think I've ever once used the dock anyways so that isnt even a factor for me. Biggest downfall would be the loss of screen size. Even if I don't sell my switch I will probably end up buying the lite anyways bc I'm an adult with a job and can buy whatever I want, haha kids 😝

I picked up the V2 switch recently and never played the old switch. But I have to say if the battery lasted any less than the V2 switch I would be satisfied. Because although the V2 gives me enough battery life it is on the shorter side when comparing it to my ps vita where I can use all day an not even be thinking about charging it. Glad I got the V2 switch because 2-3 hrs wouldnt be enough.
The Switch Lite is the handheld version of the Switch, not quite as sexy or portable as a PSVita tho

You're discussing about the version 2 og switch and switch lite
With the normal switch the controllers act at 2, say with mario kart for example, you can use both as 2 controllers for multuplayer. With the lite it takes that feature away.

On July 5th I am going to Bc (I live in Calgary) and the trip is 10-12 hrs so any switch is a must have but since I am going to be staying in hotels a lot for the next 10 days the normal switch is a must since I can play on the hotel tv

I got a Nintendo switch lite and have been playing rocket league, apex, 2k21, and vigor and going in with people's reviews on these bigger games (laggy,blurry,choppy) I was skeptical but I will say I'm impressed and it blows my mind when I sit and think I'm playing these games on a handheld and alot of of them are cross platform so I can play with my friends on ps4 and pc only negative I have so far is the button layout when I change it somehow after awhile it changes back the the factory setting so it's backwards for me

I prefer handheld and I want to use it on the bust to school and on planes ect. My family is quite well off but my mum just enrolled in a college course for a diploma to switch careers, we don’t have as much money coming in as we normally would at the moment. Ive wanted a switch forever just to use it on the go and sometimes just use it regularly.
I hate the joycons so not really bothered by the lack of them, and the d-pad seems like a welcome improvement. My impressions of the regular switch are that its too large for a handheld to the point i'd might as well have an ipad or something, so being smaller and lighter sounds like something more up my ally, too bad the battery life isnt as good. Can it use the dock at all or is it incompatible?

That's the area that will rub against the dock
So when you put your switch into the dock it will scratch the black bezel instead of the screen even
If it doesn't have the bezel then the screen will be scratched
So that the Dock doesn't destroy the screen itself

They were gonna give me about 180 but I sold it to my friend for 230 which I used for the lite! So much lighter and easier to carry around

My brother got switch I got switch lite just because I’m not bothered about telly and I like the handheld Nintendo systems sure switch it but I wanted a more portable one plus it’s cheaper

Agreed and also Nintendo have always been more dedicated towards handheld anyway I’d say Nintendo is 60 percent more for handheld and 40 percent console

@@proxxgeo1054 Docking isn't a huge point for everyone. I like the Switch mainly because it lets me play these high-end games on a handheld, whether it be for comfort or to take it with me.
The only times I really docked my Switch is just to play local multiplayer. Sure with the Lite you'd be losing that, but IMO its not that big of a loss.
in my opinion I have the switch lite since I traded in my og switch since it was too big and uncomfortable for my hands not to mention it feels very non durable but when I got this, not only is there barely any weight it DOES fit in you're pocket and feels way more sturdy instead of those joycons that literally aren't attached that well at all
Trust me you cant judge this system on its looks since everything feels and looks different in person

i got my coral switch lite + animal crossing maybe... a month ago? i REALLY like the size and it was bigger than i expected. i just don’t have time to take care of my animal crossing island since you basically have to be there everyday :/ i’m probably saving up for the legend of zelda or any other cool game

@ultragoonie because one you can't take of controllers and 2 you can't put it on a TV a if you be extra joy cons for games like Mario party or 1-2 switch if you buy Nintendo switch lite and extra joy cons with that money you could of bought a used switch and more features are in the regular switch
I think they need to change the Nintendo switch stand, they should make the stand hold the switch evenly
because of the switch lites screen being a bit smaller it has a higher pixel density which makes things thing look more crisp and clear then the regular switch
