best videos, simple , to the point.. helped me out with my 50 yamaha 2003 model..
Awesome job. Those old Yamaha outboard are built tough.
Sorry about your dog man, I’ve been through it and it sucks. I understand why you haven’t been uploading and I liked that dog she/he was in the vids a couple times.
Great video man, hope things are going good
Dude please get a work bench . It will save your back.
Nice to see someone that knows what hes doing
Hello friend, very good work, I live in Argentina, those engines are very expensive here, I like your videos.
Good job kid, sorry to hear about your pup.
Appreciate the service video help me learn a lot
What size and pitch of prop does the 50 have on it? Just want to get an idea for my boat.
sorry for your loss
How do we get in contact with you. I have a 90HP Yamaha that needs carb work. I'm in Tampa.
Great video!
Looking pretty sweet
Please do a video of replacing the crank bearings on a Yamaha 2 stroke!??
Please?
Você é um super profissional seus concertos ficou perfeito de best
Totally fascinating vids from an avid watcher in England
Nice Works Eric like Always... Btw do u think it's safe to use C Clamps to mount Outboard Motor to the boat???
My motor is 2017 F40, it has no clamps just holes for transom bolt (i dont wnna make holes in my boat). Thx in advance.
If you mount your motor with clamps it will fall off the boat and sink and you will lose it. Make the holes and bolt it on.
Need a work bench man. 😁
Thanks for the video.
Like your vids. Very helpful... Do you have any 25 hp 2 stokes for sale... My 93 yamaha is getting eaten up with corrosion... May not last too much longer.
I started out with Mercs, then got a Johnson, but I think if I ever get another outboard...it'll be a Yamaha. I'm impressed with how much abuse they can take and keep running.
i have replaced a lot of 40/50hp 3 cylinder cranks because of the center mains going bad. never had to do any C-series . they are pre-mix from new and don't seem to have this issue.
i have a question. for yamaha engine..do I need original fuel line connectors, mine is leaking at engine..
I can see you like to work on these things. I have a 1994 200 hp yamaha...I've been cursed with the over heating alarm going off at around 2500 RPM's I've changed the thermostats, the Poppet valve, water pump...The thing idles at 120 F....I'm beginning to wonder if the problem isn't just the temp sensors talking to the helm. What do you think this motor temp should be at 5000 RPM's? I'm tempted to take off the temp sensors and run it just enough to get a temp reading with a temp gun. I don't have a temp gauge...
How much for that powerhead with the bad crank ?
What's the best way to get a hold of you
Dude... You need to invest in a chair and table to do your carb work... lol
What do you get for a good running 60 or 70 horsepower Yamaha not worry so much about the year is long as it is good and reliable.
Hey do your sell outboards that you fix
Sorry to hear about your dog 😞
Hi, great vid thanks. How can you tell the crank bearings are bad? Thanks
You can hear them, the best way to dascribe the soud they make is humming, but it’s to make it out for the first time, once you know the exact sound you’ll be able to tell from far away “that engine has bad crank bearings”(trust me i know)
How did you diagnose the bad crank bearing?
Anyone know what the bracket is called that holds your throttle and shift cable in place I can’t find one anywhere
Sorry for your lost...
Hi mate i have a c75tlru 96 model yamaha and i got all the bolts out of the power head and i put crane on it and it lifts the whole boat it wont seperate any ideas please i have tryed the crow bar still nothiing
Whats happened with de 100 hp Yamaha?
What a babe of a motor! Will you be overhauling the shot powerhead?
Sorry about your dog...nice video though, as always!
Wish you’d show how you take apart repair and reinstall. So we who aren’t mechanics can learn from you. Thanks 🙏
he already said he has a video showing the steps hes not going to show the same content 10 times
Goddamn I wish you lived in my town... on a motor like this is there anything wrong with using premix and not using the oil injection tank?
She’s looking nice Eric!
Hey, I’ve always heard that you could fry an outboard by starting it w/o water, tell me truth lol.
Mostly would burn out the water impeller before anything bad happens . But after the impeller fails just a matter of time before the motor overheats.
I'm assuming you mean at 3:15. He has the lower unit off in that part of the video, so the impeller is not connected. His risk here is actually overheating the engine since there is no water flow, but that won't happen in the short 10 seconds he ran the engine.
If he ran it with the lower unit on (power going to the connected impeller), that would burn up the impeller since they're rubber impellers lubricated and cooled by water. No water means lots of friction and heat on the impeller. That short amount of time again wouldn't have overheated the engine, but it would probably have trashed the impeller so next time you're in the water and running it longer, you'd then overheat the engine.
On a side note. I had no idea ARB bull bars where sold into America? 🤔 I thought they where only sold here in aus
how can you tell if the crank bearings are bad??
They get noisy and excessive vibration. Some say you can run them for awhile, but if you plan on rebuilding it you don't want shrapnel run through it(bearing bits).
i wish you would of ran the old power head so i could of heard what bad crank bearings sound like. thanks for all the info I've got so far from watching your videos.
like a pro!
can you help me i got a 60 hp 2 stroke how to set timing on it to specs
Where are you located sir
Anyone here know what the part # is to those front gaskets on the carbs thank you
Any way you send me picture of the wiring i had to replace my crankcase and got it all back together just need to wire the the starter relay
Are you seliling it?
How did you know that the crank bearings are bad?
Some people could really work with a lot of mess around. And it seems to me, our bro is one..
One thing I noticed, you always work on the floor, you dont have room to have a work table or work bench, 2 be more comfortable and organized. You do enough work on small things 2 have something like that set up right !!!! I do work sometimes like you do, on the go, but after time it gets a bit unconfortable. 👌👌👌👌👌
this was 3 years ago but you could use a rolling tool cart if you dont have one already
Nice rebuild. little suggestion, move the camera slower or sit on steabilizer.
Why do you work on the ground? Even a cheap table would help you stay organized. You turn out some nice engines.
I have no clue lol
@@ThatBoatGuy I actually enjoy watching you work on your tile table
I saw FL plates! Where in Florida? I'd like to visit maybe. I'm in Ft Myers
St.Petersburg
@@ThatBoatGuy ah great! I get up that to Bay Pines VA on occasion. I'll have to look you up next time. Thanks for responding.
Gosto muito do seus vídeos
Peace !!!!!!!
Great videos. I give you mad "props" for recording yourself while working. Do you have a FB page about boat building?
Yes
Eric I’ve got a brand new 2017 efi 25 horse 20” shaft electric start manual trim mercury that I purchased brand new with a six year warranty through mercury a few months back. Im looking for a straight up trade for a very clean 20” shaft electric start two stroke 30 to 40 horse if this sparks your interest or if you come across something feel free to reach out to me.
Now y would you trade a merc when all you do is work on Yamaha .merc is #1
Hands dowm
I bought a used pro50 yamaha I tested the compression after it was a lil warm and all 3 cylinders were exactly 110psi is that any good?
Yes, that’s good, the important thing is that they are within 10 of each other which they are so your good
@@northcarolinabassin7643 that's Good, another thing if you no, my lower unit fin ends where the round doied* thing goes is broken off on each end , they have it covered with plastic fins is that ok ?
Roman Nes*n are you talking about the skeg on the lower unit? If the skeg is indeed broken and they put a cover on it it won’t hurt anything. It’s may affect performance slightly, but the skeg is just there for protection if you hit something.
@@northcarolinabassin7643 it's broken on each end towards the end I think it's called cavitation plate, the hydrofoil plastic fin was covering it for the most part.. if I replace it I hope it wont hurt nothing
Roman Nes*n it should be fine as long as your seeing any performance issues. If you have a hydro foil on it, that should make up for any issues it would cause
If I wanted to buy a motor from you are you in Florida I'm in Naples
At least turn your truck around and use the tailgate as a workbench.. And sorry to hear about your dog. My condolences.
Any Up Coming Auction . Live in Orlando. Please, looking for a RV or Pick up truck. Got a Boat but will love to get a hand on a Small project boat to Send it to P.R 🇵🇷 I DONT WANT TO SEND MY BOAT. THANKS CAPT

Do you sell those outboards?
Martin Mordel yes
Eric Krzyzanowski im looking for 25hp shory shaft at the moment.
@@ThatBoatGuy looking for a 25 hp yamaha short shaft for my 14 ft jon got any?

@@ThatBoatGuy
How does a person contact you about buying an Outboard?
why not pressure test it and save yourself some time from puting it on to run it and pulling it back off?
You need to in the very least set up 2 saw horses and some plywood. How you do all this on the floor baffles me.
Sounds great I would love to get it email please
Show us the steps for removing the carbs. What all needs to be removed and what doesn't
Hi name is Andrew do a video rebilled a Yamaha 90hp 2005 lower unit
Loosing a dog is loosing a family member....it's the truth!
Really $7 is Alot of Money
Great work! I would love to see some work on that 40 hp Mariner at 8:56. czcams.com/video/MGyvkHD4A_M/video.html I'm thinking about buying one of those. A 1982 Mariner 40E to be exact. Yes, I know this video is old, but still.
Do you by chance have any spare parts for a 1987 25 Merc short shaft ? My mid section is cracked around the bolt holes where the power head bolts to it. I know it’s an old motor , but it has sentimental value to me... I’m in st Pete Florida also , if you don’t have the parts maybe you can point me in the direction to who may. I’ve tried Dons marine salvage. They don’t have anything
3rd
SKEG NOT SCAG.
these are super expensive lol 7 dollars a piece
for small rubber gaskets it kinda is
@@vermilliongunner4641 in the grand scheme 7 bucks or 21 for all 3 on a 2500 dollar motor that's nothing
Why call it a power head you find them in showers it’s an engine
Hold your camera right
Why don’t you gut that thing you call a garage and build a decent place where you can work on those engines?🤔
Can you pm me please
What is up with working on the ground ? Buy a table man
no room in my garage
ThatBoatGuy - How about a folding table ? You can’t work on the floor man, your knees and back are gone in no time
All this tells me is not buy a Yamaha there nothing but trouble.
How dare you
It's I see in this guys videos it takes about three to one good one running.
Ha ha Asia makes good outboards - beautiful, loyal and dependable just like the women.
I have the best luck with the 1950's OMC motors built like tank
Bro, you've GOT TO BE joking! lol
These Yami's have been used as COMMERICAL engines with many hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of hours!
They are SUPER dependable... are you just joking, or Trolling?
