I'm mechanically inclined, just not outboard motor mechanically inclined. Your videos are great tutorials!!
Agreed,
I'm still surprised how that sketchy jon boat is capable of taking a freaking 90 without breaking into pieces ..
Murica
Looks fine to me! As long as it's rated for it.
@@fishingismydrug1 I don't believe that boat is rated for 90
@@Daandeslions It might not be.
Me Too LoL
You should give us an in-depth view or insite of that boat, how it manages to hold a 90 without completely tearing the transom off is amazing
Jack Kitchin lol it is amazing 😂
Just don't get out of the hole to fast
F=ma
He's put 3 yamaha 90s on that before
It's just a modified transom attachment with bolts. Usually they're online.
wow man impressive how your competence makes you fearless just take the whole thing apart like it's nothin! Major knowledge-envy.
I'd be wearing the kill switch lanyard, it might save you one day. Thanks for the great videos.
I don’t
I couldn't help but be scared for your safety when I saw that 90 on the john boat. Super sweet deal for that motor. Great job!
Amazed that boat's transom will take the weight and stress. I've seen videos from this guy where he's hung two and tree 25hps on that boat. Maybe he's reinforced it.
He’s put twin 50’s on the back before! Check his channel for the video. It’s crazy!
Didn't even wear the deadmanscord.
Great job! It is impressive that you went as far as pulling the power head and repainting it to make it all match. I am so like that you went ahead and got into the carbs to make sure they were good . . . because you are right it was the best time to do it. Incredible job!
Your videos and tutorials have gone up incredibly in quality! Keep it up!
You sir are living your best life. Thanks for taking all of us on a little boat adventure. 🛥️
Nice job man! Love seeing this kind of work done.
I only subscribe to two channels, your channel is one. Good informative videos. No nonsense BS. Keep them coming especially now we are getting into our boating season in the north east. Good job.
Amazing video and channel!!! Love how you go into detail fixing the boat and at the end we get to see it running out on the water!!! Love your channel dude
Great work and best tutorial.I bought a 2009 40 hp Yamaha 2 weeks ago.Got it cheap as someone hit a car and smashed the motor at 60 kph.Smashed the trim/tilt so I removed it off and will not use trim .happy to show pics. Thanks for again Regards Trevor in Australia
That was awesome! That was a great job on that 90hp Yamaha...thanks for sharing.
Love to see people with KNOWHOW fixing stuff!! Great vid!! :D
Nice rebuild man , good to see a cast away get tuned up like that and work that smooth
you definetly know your stuff, i have learned a bunch just watching you. great videos
Had the same problem before the summer few years back, hats off to ya you know your stuff👌 you were definitely around engines as young lad!
you do absolutely amazing work. I loved your Airboat project !!! Kee them coming.
Love the outboard videos. You do a really good job of explaining things. Awesome stuff 👍
Expensive paint in cost and effort, waste of time
Great job. I’m with you on painting it, already into it might as well make it look as good as it runs. We’d make good neighbors, I can’t resist good deals and tinkering either haha.
Enjoy your videos ill watch them multiple times to gain the knowledge that you have thanks a million
Great show I’ve learned a bunch, thanks!
Great job with the motor and great job making the video! Thanks for sharing!
Always enjoy the music and drone footage at the end of your videos. Thank you.
Your videos always help me with something I'm doing somehow your lucky you live in outboard heaven. It's hard to find good motors and boats to make money on here in NJ. I do a lot of work on smaller Johnson outboards and Yamaha's outboards are just fun to work on.
The Yamaha 90 is my favourite outboard. Thanks for the great in depth videos
Nice score, one of the best engines out there.
Love your spirit and skills. Thank you
Love the channel buddy very informative keep it up
ThatBoatGuy is awesome! Very good videos. Makes me feel like I can do this myself!
Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences with us.
Pretty awesome sir , a great walk thru..🤙
Thanks again. I have loved your videos from the beginning.
Great video. A little more detail on the how to side of the repair. This goes here. This lines up there. Identifying the parts as you remove them. I have worked on boats for years. Fiberglass, Gelcoat, floors, carpet. Never did any mechanic work except for basic service and winterizing. Seems like your pretty knowledgeable.
I absolutely love your videos man. Please keep it up.
Hey man I just want to say that I'm a beginner boater and you make it look so easy. Your videos are very entertaining.
Great vid!! Thank you very much. I really learn watching your tutorials. It would be awesome if you could maybe now and then make a full length video of what to do (fromt top to bottom) when getting a used motorboat (2 and 4 strokes). You are very didactic and you really make it look so easy. Greettings form Argentina! PS: Maybe you should get one of those headsets to hold the camera for you. They look stupid, but they would make your vids look even better.
Great to see a perfectionist and an expert at work! Alan Northern Ireland 👍
Thanks for the video during this difficult time.
Afternoon 😎 just wanted to say thanks & I really enjoy the channel. I scored a nice Honda Shadow VT-700 in the same type of deal because of the huge difference in compression between The jugs. When I got home and pulled the head off the Bad jug I found out the exhaust valve was cracked. Got online and found a nice used head for like $60, then flipped the bike and made $500 😎
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills! Very cool.
Great video. Never been into boats until watching you. Keep up the great content.
This looks so much fun! I really need to buy me a house and start a lot of projects like these 😁 Good videos!!
Thank for the tips. That boat and motor look like a fun combination
Daym I love your videos man keep it up
You are the Best, Your videos are great tutorials!!
Yamaha are great motors, good engineering makes for easier rebuild. You do a great job of doing it keep it up! Looks like the boating world has slowed down, plenty of empty water along the coast. I am just south of you in Englewood, plenty of nice open water here too.
Nice job. I like how you show testing every motor that you repair on a boat.
Very cool...simple when there's no bs'n around.
Tape the key to the shaft... or somewhere where you dont forget where you put it for safety !!
Excellent video thanks so much also for the Craigslist posting
New subscriber. Learned a lot from this video. Looking forward to more!!
Nice job. You make it look simple!
Good job, great motor. Love 3 cylinder yamaha s. Have a 40hp, would like to upgrade to 70 someday. Dont forget the kill switch lanyard
That motor is massive on that little Jon boat I love it
Thanks for filming
Nice work thanks from Canada
You are a beast man. Great videos!
Another great video..... Question, the saltwater corrosion you have with the replacement part, 1) What do you use to get bolts off without breaking them, 2) Do you remove the saltwater buildup inside the heads when you can or just leave it be?
love watching your videos man
Love your channel look forward to seeing your videos thanks
Well done.. i wish i knew all about the mechanics of an outboard and how to fix them.
great job the boat really looked like it was really getting along the water
as I wrote in the previous comment, I bought the same engine. It fires up and works very well. Trim seals need to be replaced, I already have the part numbers from your movie. Greetings from Poland
Grande Erick!!!! Keep up the good work. Saludos desde Argentina.
"repower takeoff" gotta love the truthful craigslist ads...
nice video as always! thanks!
Also, I saw that same add while looking for power options for my project. Turns out my power is just fine and did not pursue the add.
Nope wasn't the same add. My bad. I might have made the 3 hr drive from here for it though. Nice find.
Okay, @thatboatguy, you got some skills, is all these repairs, overhauls, etc... just for extra money enjoyment or is this your career? Thanks for the great videos. Learned a lot of the last few months I have been subscribed!
That Publix is down the road from my moms work , she’s working at the bay pines va and tells me that little inlet is full of fish. What I wanna do when I get my whaler redone is take the boat over to Angry peppers , which is right behind that Publix . They have boat access and awesome bbq
Great. I just change impeller my Yahama 30 autolube. Runnin goog. You have great videos. Greetings from Finland
Super impressed. That motor looks fantastic. Worth the extra effort for paint. I need an engine just like that - do you sell any that you rebuild?
You made this Engine Like NEW Again Sweet
Thanks for another excellent vid!!!
Attention to detail. That’s what makes your videos awesome!
Damn that's a lot of extra work to just make the paint match, lol.
but she sells so much better when she looks like you didn't have to go through the block
Yep half the people that would buy it wouldn’t even look under a cowling extra work for sure
@@kevinpaiva6564 I agree but extra details put into his service has people coming back for more engines later or friends of those people... he has to be very well known for used engines and boats in his area alone. If you buy an engine from him you would know the kind of detail it went through before it came up for sale.. just my .02
That goes well with a 25!on it and you put a 90 on it. Well done awesome job 👍🇦🇺
Gday mate this is the same model i had in a 50hp it was on a chase boat up north and i had it shipped down , stripped the head of not to bad but looked like something had damaged the inside of the combustion chamber ,checked with a local mech he said nothing to worry about changed all the sacrificial anodes out and cleaned as much as i could up with a stainless wire wheel on my dremel put it all back together and ran like a top start first crank every time .
Good job Eric i have an 06 90 Yamaha with 65hr on it i luv it did buy it new dont use it much unfortunately but every 2nd month i will run it for 5 or so minutes 🇦🇺
Keep up the good Work Love the Vids!
Great job. Saved a ton of money. I just paid 270 bucks for head gasket job and fix leaking carbs.
Hi TBG, love your videos. Where do you source your gaskets? Any suggestions for cheap non-OEM gasket options? Would you recommend making your own out of a particular gasket material? Thanks
Great vid man!
I’m excited I just picked up a 75HP Yamaha can’t wait to see it run
My neighbor's dad had a Cape Horn 16 with that motor on it. We were running a small creek and his dad didn't know the water was full of cypress stumps. You guessed it- we hit a stump at about 25 mph. It completely stopped the boat and somehow threw the engine cover into the boat. No casualties though.
We stick the flywheel key with flywheel magnet to keep it safe. Good video.
You are amazing. Keep making videos so that we can learn from you.
Fantastic buy, and now its a great running engine.
Thanks bro. Nice vid.
Great job . Very educational video. Thanks
Another great one.... you make it all loos so easy !
If only this man could do travel work. Great video!
What a talent! You could make a living with these things and your knowledge!
Thanks for all this video keep up I love all your video
another great video....Are you happy with the Atlas jackplate?. Can you tell me what model that is? Thanks
Lol, I thought that was a pelican sitting on the bow at 9:44. Damn, this cabin fever is getting to me.
Great videos buddy watching from the Cayman islands 👍👍👍🏝
i love the yamaha 2 strokes they are unbelievable
You’ve got a good life my friend. Count your blessings.
good job on that motor! nice boat too!
A 90hp on a 16' boat is a good power match up! Nice job Boat guy 👍
