      It's just a modified transom attachment with bolts. Usually they're online.

      Amazed that boat's transom will take the weight and stress. I've seen videos from this guy where he's hung two and tree 25hps on that boat. Maybe he's reinforced it.

    Great job! It is impressive that you went as far as pulling the power head and repainting it to make it all match. I am so like that you went ahead and got into the carbs to make sure they were good . . . because you are right it was the best time to do it. Incredible job!

    Great work and best tutorial.I bought a 2009 40 hp Yamaha 2 weeks ago.Got it cheap as someone hit a car and smashed the motor at 60 kph.Smashed the trim/tilt so I removed it off and will not use trim .happy to show pics.Thanks for again Regards Trevor in Australia

    Your videos always help me with something I'm doing somehow your lucky you live in outboard heaven. It's hard to find good motors and boats to make money on here in NJ. I do a lot of work on smaller Johnson outboards and Yamaha's outboards are just fun to work on.

    Great video. A little more detail on the how to side of the repair. This goes here. This lines up there. Identifying the parts as you remove them. I have worked on boats for years. Fiberglass, Gelcoat, floors, carpet. Never did any mechanic work except for basic service and winterizing. Seems like your pretty knowledgeable.

It would be awesome if you could maybe now and then make a full length video of what to do (fromt top to bottom) when getting a used motorboat (2 and 4 strokes). They look stupid, but they would make your vids look even better.

    Afternoon 😎 just wanted to say thanks & I really enjoy the channel. I scored a nice Honda Shadow VT-700 in the same type of deal because of the huge difference in compression between The jugs. When I got home and pulled the head off the Bad jug I found out the exhaust valve was cracked. Got online and found a nice used head for like $60, then flipped the bike and made $500 😎

    Yamaha are great motors, good engineering makes for easier rebuild. You do a great job of doing it keep it up! Looks like the boating world has slowed down, plenty of empty water along the coast. I am just south of you in Englewood, plenty of nice open water here too.

    Another great video..... Question, the saltwater corrosion you have with the replacement part, 1) What do you use to get bolts off without breaking them, 2) Do you remove the saltwater buildup inside the heads when you can or just leave it be?

    as I wrote in the previous comment, I bought the same engine. It fires up and works very well. Trim seals need to be replaced, I already have the part numbers from your movie. Greetings from Poland

    That Publix is down the road from my moms work , she’s working at the bay pines va and tells me that little inlet is full of fish. What I wanna do when I get my whaler redone is take the boat over to Angry peppers , which is right behind that Publix . They have boat access and awesome bbq

If you buy an engine from him you would know the kind of detail it went through before it came up for sale.. just my .02

    Gday mate this is the same model i had in a 50hp it was on a chase boat up north and i had it shipped down , stripped the head of not to bad but looked like something had damaged the inside of the combustion chamber ,checked with a local mech he said nothing to worry about changed all the sacrificial anodes out and cleaned as much as i could up with a stainless wire wheel on my dremel put it all back together and ran like a top start first crank every time .

    My neighbor's dad had a Cape Horn 16 with that motor on it. We were running a small creek and his dad didn't know the water was full of cypress stumps. You guessed it- we hit a stump at about 25 mph. It completely stopped the boat and somehow threw the engine cover into the boat. No casualties though.
