It literally seems like Jamie is arguing just to wind up Gary hahaha
He always winds him up all the time lol
They do it to each other
I think they both play devil's advocate as it pushes out the points better from the argument

They should give more chances to that young prospect Lingard
I heard he's a goal scoring machine
He's a bit young ATM, might be ready in a few years
No please. Not young and lingard
Legato Bluesummers Lingard is 26 and 27 In December he’s not young and he’s garbage why would they play him.
Donte Donte you’re a bit simple aren’t you
Food for thought. Stop letting teams like West Ham Wolves Leicester Everton sign talent and then for UTD to overpay from them. *Buy them cheap first*

@@kraysod4293 Not always. I mean United rejected the chance to sign De Ligt on the cheap cuz his dad was fat wtf
They probably will overspent given on these emerging talents and will reject these talents

Gary Nev never mentions Pogba. No one wants to talk about him now.
To talk about unnecessary drama? Pogba destroys "the spine" of any team with his tantrums. They should have sold him when they had the chance.
Ppl will call racism or agenda.
Pogba is gone next season.
Talk about him for what? He's been attacked, called names all last season And no one talks about lingard, Sanchez, degea, lukaku, philjones, rojo, bailey. All shitty players.
@@Rodrifuuu he must have destroyed Juve, France too uh. It's crazy how people act like United is the only team he played for. Dude has been winning until he came back. It's so funny how his managers and teammates talk good about him and yet he's a bad teammate. Lol. Talk about agenda
he's compering lineup of the previous game against the class of 92''... if i recall correctly pogba was injured, that's why he's not in the lineup
Easy Answer: Yes.
But we need them to be top quality. Experience means nothing if you're finished.
black god Exactly: Matic, Mata and Young all examples, even though I understand Young needs to play right now with the full back injuries, Mata and Matic are finished now
@@Corey-J7 mata isn't finished though one of our most creative players
Ole is one of the worst managers in United history. I’d start there if I was United.
I don't feel we need experienced players I just think we need better players. If we can get a great defensive midfielder and two great offensive creative players, we could be up there.

@@iracingrookie3301 Firstly, United could easily spend 100m on a player if they think it's the right player. Secondly, just cause his release clause is 100m doesn't mean that's what they'll have to spend, 60-80 is most likely enough to get him, if Neves wants to leave.

I absolutely love listening to these two. Wish I could afford Sky Sports!
For me, personally speaking... I think United are in need of a decent defensive midfielder. McTominay is fantastic but you need more depth in that role unless Fred is expected to drop in and improve in form.
Under Mourinho's entire run we had no right winger, and we've made do with playing Mata and now Pereira out wide which is frustrating because there's no place, there's no threat to the oppositions Left Back and that means our attack is very one-sided. It's like a trident with the right prong missing.
Of course they need experience. Maddison could be vital in midfield should he arrive and Sancho could add that 3rd prong back to the trident. Although I would love a striker around the ages of 27-29 who could provide 2-3 solid years until Martial and Rashford are ripe and Greenwood is more matured.
tbf a front 3 of rashford martial and james should put fear into any defense with it pace.if man u can get those 3 playing together and build up a partnership it has potential to be as deadly as anybodies front 3.
@@bartman01021988 Football is not all pace. This is not FIFA video game. That's why we lost to Palace.

@@bartman01021988 I beg to differ. You can block passing lanes. You can beat the press with long passes.
Football isnt so dumb that you need one way to play.
The issue is that good defenders are hard to get.
Even after Kante, players like Gueye are still underrated.
To me Gueye is worth more than Maguire.
The quality of the chances is important when teams use a low block you dont get the chance to counter with 3 on 2 and get easy tap ins.
You either have very intelligent players like Messi, Xavi, Iniesta to unlock or you have monsters like Ronaldo that will win every header or score belters from long range haha
He says Liverpool just got Van Dijk, Fabinho and Firmino, but Salah Robertson Arnold Keita Matip were all more recent signings than Firmino lmaoo. Liverpool completely changed up their XI in the last 3 years its not just a few signings. Not to mention the implementation of a world class system that brings the best out of and compliments the players by a top manager. Man United are a long way from Liverpool or just being competent.
Well said. Mane was also bought by Klopp when Firmino was already there.
but the point hes trying to make, the second leg against barca, without fimino and salah, but we keep most of our spine and let fabinho vvd dictate the game,
but imo its more than that, its about the philosophy of the manager and how he implements in the team, if you can take out 11 players and put another 11 and work the same like city then its not about the spine but the style of play
Yes, definitely. Experience is essential to lead the younger players, but it must be good experience so they must upgrade on their scouts and try and make shrewd signings like Dortmund did with Witsel.
don't buy players that are over 30, before that who are already experienced in the premier league and champions league

A year later, and Neville is spot on.
We need more hungry young talents like Aaron wan-bissaka,Daniel James
We have these players but we need experience to help them. Look at the effect Zlatan had on them young players at utd after he joined
Mr Biillzzz we need more
@@caihowarth7636 yes we do. But ole has started some change. My expectations for utd have dropped for this season because of the lack of experienced players. We should give players like James, tuamzebe mctominay time in the first team. But one thing we didn't do was replace herrera amd lukaku in the squad. We don't have that spine in midfiped anymore.
Mr Biillzzz true
We need top talent at the top of their game. Not just more kids.
The truth that Gary needs to admit is that UTD is no longer the club most players dream of joining because of lack of football professionalism and vision by club management. It's no longer a football elite club, it becomes an money making institution for the owners , forgetting that it is basically a football club.. it's obvious the club is lacking football project that would keep it among the big clubs in UK and Europe. CEO has made a big mess regarding transfers before and especially this transfer window trying to keep all threads in his hands just to show the owners he is Mr. Reliable. I believe he is a complete failure in football world. It took him a month to bring Wan Bissaka for the same amount demanded by Palace, and another month to bring Maguire for the same asking price and worst of all, it took him 2 months to sell Lukaku at the closing days of the window without making any plan to find his and Herrera's replacement early on. Football has become an international sport without boundaries, so club's look to bring multi Nationals to their teams as long as they are deemed good enough. It doesn't make sense to focus mainly on British talents to bring to UTD, but they should focus on the best that suit plan and way UTD play. Remember the heros; Schmeichel, Vidic, Ronaldo, Cantona, Nestelroy, Van Persie...etc. all were not British but we're absolutely essential to the glory of UTD.
First of all congratulations on being able to summarise what exactly happened so well.
Second of all many of the iconic English team always had a an English core, Arsenal in the late 90s, United with Gary Neville’s side.
Also just because a team has been struggling doesn’t diminish their size. United are still the biggest club in the world along side Real and Barcelona
Prokratius by what criteria? How is Liverpool not there and they have the sam e amount of trophies as Man U, even one more if you count the Super Cup. What about AC Milan, one of the greatest teams ever... You can’t just argue with the same arguments over and over again, you can’t live in past mate, time goes ...
Thank you all for the replies which I highly respect. As a proud long time fan of MAN UTD, I would like to further say my point of view on the current status of the club.
We all agree that the glory of the club had been established through a successful formula of 3 factors; 1st. a great manager with a project, vision, strong character, and winning mentality. 2nd. great hardworking players of any nationality (british or foreign but not all stars) with high commitment and talent. 3rd. professional footballing management who believe the club is football club in the first place and secondly a commercial entity that brings revenues. Beside this formula, there are great supporting fans who keep behind the club all the way.
The players who participated to the success of the club were a mix of British and Foreign Nationals that both engraved their names on the trophies and titles achieved. Sir Alex brought the best players who would fit in the style of play regardless of their nationality or fame. And that made the difference. He was so brave to expell any player who becomes spoiled or thinks he is above other colleagues or irreplaceable. Now, From the way the management and owners behave and act I can say they are significantly football ignorents and look only for money out of this sports institution. I believe the only way to get back on right track again is to:
1st. Bring in highly experienced manager with recognized reputation and character and believe in club's project.
2nd. He will bring talented players (not necessarily stars) that would fit in his team and have high commitment to club's legacy and history.
3rd. Get rid of all players who wouldn't fit in the style of play, spoiled and never give 100% performance no matter their names are (just as Sir Alex had done before).
4th. Set a timeline for the project to reach the goals set and Support the project and manager with funds to achieve the targets within 2-3 years. All fans will be more than patient to wait for the goal to be achieved and UTD gets back to compete once again for top trophies as a formidable force again.
5th. Replace current CEO. It's quite sad and funny to see Woodward labouring for a month just to bring Wan-Bissaka for the same price asked by Palace and the same for Maguire from Leicester, meanwhile knowing that Lukaku is leaving 2 months earlier (we all knew that except Woodward) but did nothing to replace him, or replace Herrera (could have brought Gana from Everton as replacement) and Thierney from Celtic to compete with Shaw. All price tags for those proposed players were cheap. Lack of competence in the team is a very bad thing and would downgrade performance of existing players. Anyways, I would love and appreciate if Gary, Ferdinand, Scholes or any other legend would read my comments...
Filip never said Liverpool weren’t a big club, but maybe actually winning a premier league title which they’ve never achieved would help. (They have won the league but premier league is a different entity don’t care what you say, google it). This year may be their year. Being A Scottish Rangers and Arsenal fan I completely understand, Rangers have fallen drastically compared to the force they used to be.
By what criteria can we judge any team? Too many variables to accurately judge and if all teams were the same it’d be boring. Just a part of the game I suppose
YOU SHOULD'VE GIVEN MOURINHO HIS TEAM AT UNITED!!! IT WOULD BE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT STORY
Gotta hand it to Gary Nev. He’s always on the money and highly skilled at getting his point across
Peak bantering by Carragher just to rile up Neville 😂😂
Props to Ole. TBH no one would have seen James being a first team player this early.🔥
That’s out of desperation, Fergie would never throw a player in the championship in and rely on him like we do.
Its because of his talent or there is no one that have talent to fight for the position?
United have only 2 category of players...
1. Potential..they may become world beaters
2. Long dead buried expired
As far as Pogba , he's gone next season. Unless some new hot shot arrives on the scene and Madrid are swayed away from pogba. Like the DeGea situation.
Manchester United's choices are off and sluggish.

If they get an experienced player; it will be for market value as well. Basically looking at players like Kroos; this maybe good as they have experience. However, these players come for the pay not for club.

Just described Bruno Fernandes.
Well said Gary! He's spot on. No mention of Pogba either. Why bring a player back that Sir Alex clearly got rid of cause he saw that he wasn't a Manchester United player as a youngster
Those last words are GOLD.
Di Maria was in his prime when we bought him.
LVG ruined Di Maria
Moyes Ruined Kagawa and Hernandez
These three would walk into the Man utd team now.
Di Maria yes cause he could play RW and CAM, Kagawa yes cause he could play CAM but Chicharito wouldnt get played ahead of martial or rashford even though he was a far better finisher than rashford
Di Maria is prime crap. A player who won't show up for pre-season despite being on contract can walk straight out the door.
Di Maria ruined Di Maria. Didn’t want to be here. Came for the money. Got “burgled” and threw his toys out the pram. Demanded a move and was more disrespectful to the club than lukaku was when forcing a move. He’s a prick.
@@kawhistraightface1462 yeah it was stupid to sign di Maria he was forced to leave Real and didnt want to be at Manchester. At the end he signed for the Big money.
It will be difficult for united to reach the top again. Leaders dont grow in trees.
They should have kept playerz like Zlatan and Rooney. Even though they are old they make a massive different as zlatan has won so many trophies in different league and rooney won a ucl and has played with with some of the greatest player to ever play football. Even for their age they are still playing good. Right now united need zlatan because he can finish he can lead a team and he isnt afraid of telling anyone what to do and even for a 38 year old striker he still one of the best in the world. He could still walk in to any league and do his job because he know who winning feel like as he done it for all his career.
@Abu Tahir Rashford has a lot to learn. He cant finish well and someone like Ibra can teach him how to finish. Martial a better finisher then rashford imo. Ibra can teach these young player how to finish and stay composed as he been in these situations.

Gary is world champion of teeny giggling. He is still great though.
Who to sign? No galacticos. Look at teams that are punching well above their weight. Indentify the players driving those results. Then see if any of them would be a good fit for MUFC. Then sign them and make sure they practice shooting, crossing, and free kick etc after sessions instead of running to check their smart phone.
WE NEED PPLE WITH YOUR MENTALITY TO REPLACE ED WOODWORM
The signs were there for Sanchez in this last year at arsenal.
The season before he left he got 24 goals and 11 assists in 38 pl games, he got 7 goals and 3 assists in 19 pl games in his last half season at Arsenal which is not bad. So it is clear no one predicted Sanchez would flop at United.
Bollocks Ross.
Sanchez ended his career the moment he signed for United, had he signed for another club I am most certain he'd still be fire.
Manc Man nearly ended Martial and Rashford’s United careers too smh
As an Arsenal fan the signs were there but most people thought it was just him having a strop.
Liverpool got VERY LUCKY with the transfer market and United got VERY UNLUCKY with the transfer market. That's the DIFFERENCE!
Ignore Alisson 65m Keita 50m Fabinho 35m and VVD 75m... Those were the only expensive signings and more importantly signings that are known quality played UCL football... The luck comes in with
Firmino from Hoffenheim for 30m (an unknown quality)
James Milner from City for free
Mane from Southampton for 30m (good but no one dreamt he would be this good)
Wijnaldum from Newcastle for 20m (relegated team)
Trent Alexander-Arnold (academy)
Matip from Schalke for free
Salah from Roma for 35m (failed in epl previously got some form back in Serie A no one dreamt he would be this good)
Robertson from Hull for 5m (again maybe good scouting? but weren't talked about)
Liverpool built a squad from bits and pieces, NONE of these players from bulk of the squad were expected or had the potential to be challenging for league or dreamt of winning UCL... of course credit goes to Klopp he bought all these players... and definitely it's because of his tactics and coaching... but United bought more proven players, more well known players and hardly any played to expectation, while Liverpool bought unknowns and they all turn out world beaters... There's definitely luck involved!
Gary Neville your spot on mate....
Should’ve kept Zlatan that’s without a doubt
Idea: buy a few 30m players instead of one 100m player
In this market if you can buy a a single player for 30m it's a bargain
That’s the problem the market is inflated. There needs to be new rules. I like cheap players as they normally do well
maximus weston
Wait you fools brag about how rich Man are. Yet don’t want to pay for good players?
You want to get players on a cheap?
What nonsense. Bunch of losers (fans, pundits and media)
@Fredy Sagala nope there are a lot of quality players you can get with 30m the thing is we want to only buy British players who are overpriced and not entirely quality players that's what's wrong with us
Pukki would be even less than that and be actually useful for ManU.
Maybe the rumours are true of ManU eyeing on Pukki.
United should buy a Lewandowski or a Cavani, an experienced striker who can score them goals. A creative midfielder who can create chances like Bruno Fernandez. They also need a right winger like Sancho. Apart from that a new left back Alex Telles would absolutety make the club better again.
Hawkelek the amount of money that would cost. And the how good they would actually be is completely based on fifa ratings mate 😂😂
Sancho is easily 100m in todays market and very risky signing. Sure he is currently very good in the bundesliga but he can easily flop in a different scenario due to playing in the PL and for United (cause lets face it, their team sucks right now).
Lewan and Cavani would be suuuper expensive apart from the fact that neither club would want to sell them. They dont need the money, why would they sell them. Also you are using the same logic as united used with sanchez. This could go very badly just like sanchez
Bruno fernandez’s asking price this summer i think was 80m. If he plays in the same level this season his price will go even higher. If he gets worse, you, if i wouldnt have mentioned this to you right, probably wouldnt want him next season.
So we are talking about easily 300m.
Want my opinion. United wont go anywhere if they dont get an actual serious manager and change their useless board. Mourinho couldve stayed but the board is the worst so he couldnt deal with what he got. Until the board changes, united is doomed. Sure, you might get a good season from time to time but you guys wont be consistent.
personally i dont think we need experienced players as such cant hurt but we have obviously improved the team overall a cm and st are a must in January if we want top 4 but id settle for top 6 this season
Go to algeria you'll find millions of rashford
Barca are selling Rakitic in January. That could be a good start if the money is right.
Gary makes sense!!
Insightful analysis. Gary has done well to establish the obvious problem. The senior players have not don't anything close to good enough and the fans (me inclusive) have grown to expect the kids to perform week in, week out. Matic has been terrible for some months now.
12:43 great point from neville
Who knows what rashford is going to be? The guy isn’t 18 anymore to be talking about like a kid.
Yawovi E. He’s still just 21.. ibra came to his potential at 30-31. It’s not just 18 year olds who have potential
Athletes reach their peak round 28-30. The best in the world are in their 30s but people act like they lose their legs when they hit 30
@@akakezzy6152 Ibra came to his potential at 30-31!? He's scored a minimum of 15 goals per season since he was 21yo. He's been world class since 21yo. Rashford is bang average.
Lewis rashfords goal record at 19 is equal to CR7’s at 19 despite playing only in the prem and not having the best manager in the world like CR7 did. Also ibra has scored almost twice as many goals since hitting 30 as he did before then
Lewis to be fair he’s had 4 seasons in his career hitting double digits, as a sub for 3. Yeah he’s been avg. but he’s yet to play a full season as the main man, and with a class midfield.
Gary speaks straight facts. Love hearing him
Very sensible arguments.
Have united got the talent upfront that Liverpool have with salah and mane who Gary Neville didn’t even mention?
Narsenal21 Martial is a finisher
Nope. He wouldn't dare to mention other issues like the tactical ineptitude of Ole. Our attack is youthful and full of potential. Age-wise, not that much younger than Liverpool's. But my word would it be light years better if Mandzukic and a Carrasco type were bought in to add experience + plan B.
Liverpool had Origi and Sturridge as rotation players last year and they were invaluable. Pogba should be captain but Ashley Young was given the armband. Pogba should be played further forward yet Lingard is played in his favoured role. Fred should be starting games while Tahith Chong should get a run on the wing.
We got rid of lot players but we didn’t replace them. Yes we made signings but those are the signings we needed. If you sell players, they would need replacing.
Fellaini is the only one we dont have a like for like replacement for
I think the team misses a Herrera replacement the most. It's likely we couldn't get a midfielder for a suitable price or some players declined to come, but it's a position we need to re-look at soon in January.
It is not that easy to get them replace, players especially good one are rather staying put than to play in europa league
Fast forward, bruno added iron to that spine, cavani is a workhorse too ... Pellestri and Diallo sound promising

To me, it seems like wishful thinking that 3 great players could make United title-challengers overnight. Majority of players in that squad currently lack the experience, character and the consistency needed to win on a regular basis. That united team at the moment can beat Liverpool easily and then go on to lose against Villa the very next game. Players like Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Lingard, Pereira, you simply don't know if they're going to show up.
In 3 years, with more players United can challenge for the title but the players need to be consistent and adopt a winning mentality. Klopp cultivated the right attitude within that Liverpool squad and then the 3 additions simply took them to a new level.
Which is why Mandzukic was a must for me this summer
I get the sense that Solskjaer is instilling the right attitude. The players he brought in this season are serious and give their all every match. If this sets the tone for the squad then the rebuild can't go far wrong.
Replaced Lingard with Bruno Fernandes, that's a start. 2 more good signings in the summer and we will see if Gary is right next season

Gary Neville makes perfect sense. The spine needs to be of great quality players that have years and legs left on them. The current spine of Matic, Mata, Young and the likes are either too old or not there up in quality. Manchester United can easily fix this without waiting for 3-4 windows to take place. Address those 'spine issues' by getting 1 player at least in January. And the rest in the next summer window. United should be fine!
I think we need to sign another matic type player who has only year left at the top level with lots of experience so your can slowly integrate younger players in squad however that it is a lot easier said then done
Bring Zlatan back just for his dressing room presence if nothing more
Really wish Zlatan was in the squad. Neville is right the youngster need leaders. Zlatan would be perfect.
A Savic from lazio and Fernandes from sporting would instantly make them top 3 contenders
Jamie has a point no way liverpool players will perform in manutd’s team, its klopp plus utd actually has a good team with bad selections every game. In other words this team would perform under klopp and thats no knock on ole but he have to get the team selection right

I get what Neville is saying..Fergie yoused to always bang on about having a solid spine in the team
furby said alot of things, its what old people do
Very interesting point of view from Neville
Rightly said Gary .Where’s a debate Jamie 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Who think Ole should go with Bruno Fernandez for CMD as January's target.
Ole has destroyed Manchester United already in 2019
Ole doesn’t have a choice it’s the board that buy/sell/new contracts
why would they buy an attack minded midfielder and play him as a defensive midfielder?
Yes. Experience like:
Ndidi, Partey, Maddison, Werner , Yedder.
Not experience like:
Zlatan, Kroos, Mandzukic, Vardy, Rakitic.
Stop siging players that want a big paycheck and will be finished within 1-2 seasons.
5:15 Is a very underrated line. Piercing truth.
Lower the standard? Lower the expectations? I do not think so. It is manager and players meet the standard and expectations of the football club, not the other around. Manchester United is big football club,by their standard winning the premier league, UEFA championship league football is a must every season.
Manchester don't have the ability to execute in the late game situations it's as simple as that :)
the big problem is creating goals and scoring goals. we missed the boat not signing bruno Fernandes. Fernandes has 2 goals and 5 assists odd already this season. United don't score in the first 20 mins the pressure builds and fans start losing it . by 48 mins the team are clueless and playing nervous football. Fernandes would of been the player to take pressure off scoring and creating goals .
Gary is spouting total non-sense about Alexei Sanchez. I was just watching a clip the other day from few years back when Gary was on commentary and called Arsenal spineless because players were walking back on defense during a match. Then after the match, he was talking about Sanchez' bad attitude because he'd throw his arms up and make a scene when something didn't go right on the pitch. At the time, Sanchez was being linked with Bayern and Gary said they shouldn't buy him because his attitude would just sour after the honeymoon period was over.
I agree with Gary. We need a CF and 2 quality Mids 1 to partner pogba and 1 to be CDM (or hopefully fred comes good) and i think we be aite
I agree with Neville, but not easy to find those players today, given the amount of competition.I would go for eriksen or isco, kane, kante, griezmann, emre can, pjanic.I mean, united has enogh money to buy at least some of them,I just dont understand what they are waiting for
tired of listening about man utd.
As long as they have players like rashford, pogba, lingaard........forget it........
Sameer Ali Rashford and Pogba are good players with less productivity
I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THAT ASHLEY YOUNG WASN'T YOUNG 😲😲
I was shocked that he was a football player
Just need quality. It was a poor transfer window. We signed good players but we needed more in midfield and even at RW or ST. Need way more than 3 signings.
Gary Neville is king of hindsight, shame it didn't help him coach
Might be good as a director of football. He deals with strategy and I like that!
@@keithnixon1263 He doesn't deal with anything, he comments after the fact, anyone can do that.
He tried management, failed miserably, and has now given up on it.
wheres the debate? wheres the debate?
WHERES THE DEBATE JAMIE LOL
We have signed 3 good players and yet our team is a mess at times. This just shows we need about 10 more players to 100% reach top 4.
Hell YES! United definitely need more experienced players.
GO ON G NEV
