- Since consilying is this ever mysterious nobody-knows-what-goes-on-there job, it can be difficult to know what consulting stereotypes are just outdated or wrong and which are actually kinda true. So here is a reality check on some of the famous consulting stereotypes from a Big 4 consultant working in London - from the ridiculous to the very (very!) realistic. Of course only one person’s view but hope it might be helpful if you’re thinking of applying 🤓
Anastasia xx
You’ve put me off 💀😂
Oh no!😂 Not the intention but also - fair enough haha
What is the longest you have worked? / Average working hours weekly? (Ik it's dependent on the project)
Thanks so much for watching! 🙂 The longest I’ve had is 11ish pm finishes leading up to deliverables submission. I’d say on a normal calm project week my typical hours would be about 48 per week, on a not so calm really varied. I’ve had a very good experience with how my project was managed recently though where this was by no means the norm and super late finishes only a handful and otherwise I felt really supported in keeping my work-life balance. But I’ve also had a couple of negative experiences where overworking was assumed as opposed to an exception so it’s definitely hit and miss.
