The implications of Sora's inclusion is just insane to me. The absolute legal hoops that Sakurai and his team must have jumped through to just get him in shows their dedication to the fanbase. Even to have that small bit where the keychain is shown gave me goosebumps. Never thought I'd ever get as much as an emotional nostalgic feeling from a video game character's inclusion to a fighting game.
Nah, only disney thing in there was a key chain. Would agree if we saw some characters in the background or something. Its more square than Disney in smash.
@@petterblakstad8074 Kingdom Hearts is owned by Disney as well. They had to go through Disney as well as Square-Enix. Some sources have stated that Kingdom Hearts is owned by Disney, who are pretty protective of their IPs.
Some say that Square Enix only has access to the IP for developmental purposes in partnership with Disney.

@@petterblakstad8074 Tbf, Square Enix has proven to be difficult to work with Sora Ltd in their own right. In reality, they had to fight through both for one character.
I really don't think we'll ever see this sort of thing happen again in games. A collaboration of this size and scope across so many different worlds, characters and companies. What an amazing achievement from everyone involved. I'm sad that it's over but I'm so grateful that it happened.
Yeah, but as far as I'm concerned there's no way Nintendo is leaving it at that with such a big-time moneymaker. We may not see Sakurai at the wheel next time which truly is a shame, but I think we will have another Smash in the future. Here's hoping though, that they'll be able to get most of the licensing back.
I have to agree. In any form of media, we will never see anything like this ever again. What a way to cap it off too. I remember hearing people criticizing Nintendo for not knowing how to go out with a bang. Consider them corrected.

All of these trailers are awesome, but Sora's is SIMPLE AND CLEAN! Even Mario didn't get attacked or killed in the final one.

I love "Super Smash Bros.", but even I'll admit there would have been a few more characters that I would have loved to see playable after not being entirely satisfied with the ones that have been chosen to become playable as DLC.

This really brings into perspective how “ultimate” this game really is.
And it doesnt even have the character reveals from the Wii U era. (Cloud etc.)
While you’re not wrong as far as how Ultimate this game feels for having all of these characters and I personally think that ending it off with Sora was extremely fitting, however, I think the way this game could’ve truly deserved the title of “Ultimate” was if they made a new Smash Bros. Brawl style Subspace Emissary story and incorporated the DLC characters to be part of the story as well, as a big update to come after all the characters released as a special surprise as a way to say, “oh you thought this was the end of the story? The story has only just begun now!” that and I think they should’ve made the roster with 100 characters instead of 89, in all honesty 100 is a number that feels way more ultimate when compared to 89, so one more DLC pack with 11 characters would’ve made this game perfect, but I would still end it with Sora either way, and I would’ve swapped Kazuya’s & Sephiroth’s placements, that way Sephiroth could’ve appeared just before Sora, as far as the 11 characters go, I would definitely want Shadow the Hedgehog, Dr. Eggman, Paper Mario, Waluigi, Dixie Kong, More Zelda Characters, Midna & Wolf Link, Demise, & Twinrova which all seem like interesting choices, also characters like Hollow Knight, Dante and Doom Slayer would all be my personal choices for 11 more characters, of course some of those choices wouldn’t have to be DLC, they could just be base roster characters, for example, Dixie Kong & Waluigi would be better as base roster characters, although I might cut the Zelda characters down to 2 characters instead of 3, that way another highly requested character that’s not from Zelda could have a chance to appear, like Crash Bandicoot as an example because I know he’s currently the most highly requested character for the next smash bros. game if there will even be one.
Just realized that Banjo and Sora trailers ended with them being welcomed to the roster. The #1 and #2 most requested characters deserve the love

Sonic and Mario were rivals in the SNES/Genesis days. Square made Final Fantasy games for Nintendo until the N64 where they made games (FF7-9) on the PS1 when it came out.
I don't think Square hated Nintendo but they did have a falling out that lasted from around 1995 to until the 2010s.

Steve’s is still the most mind blowing reveal. Sora’s received so much acclaim because it’s a dream come true for many players.
I think Steve is the only one that broke twitter out of anyone else. But seeing the 2 most requested characters (Steve and Sora) in smash is really mind blowing. Can't wait to see mashups of Steve and Sora in the near future!
I actually was hoping for Lilac from "Freedom Planet" to become playable by the time the final character was announced, but I doubt that was possible due to the fact that absolutely no one even knows about that game except for me...

Joker's, Sephiroth's, and Sora's reveals are my three favorites. But if I had to pick one absolute favorite, I'd go with Sephiroth.
Nothing says "badass" like slicing a literal god in half, 10 seconds of silence, and then your theme song plays as you stare down at all of your future victims.

Not everyone will be satisfied with this outcome of being the last reveal of Smash Ultimate but then again, it's just a game that features characters from different franchises and from different companies. If anything, the existence of Smash is one of life's greatest gifts and I will forever cherishes this in my life

The fact that Sora got into Smash is pretty incredible. Not because it will satisfy the fan base but the legal challenges, loopholes, and obstacles in order to achieve that must be insane. You have to deal with Square Enix, Sony, Nintendo, AND the largest obstacle of all in Disney.

I know, it's insane. I remember when a friend and I were talking about Melee back in 2004, imagining how cool it would be if the next game, or even just a future game, had a roster of 100. Back then, we dismissed that idea as silly, cause how would you get that many fighters (we were eight and weren't aware of how many franchises there were out there. Plus we were still in the "nintendo only" mindset).
Now look. Sure the final roster is 89, but that's pretty damn close (Closer if you wanna be generous with the mii fighters.) Such a large roster was inconceivable to us.
If you told me back then that a smash game would have close to a hundred fighters, id say you're nuts.

The King K. Rool reveal was the one I was the most hyped for. All of these reveals are truly magnificent and an absolute masterpiece.

To this day I can't handle how in tune the devs were with their audience. Making a joke in the Byleth trailer about "too many swordsmen" or giving Sora the "is finally here" splash title really shows they listened.
It feels great to end on such a high note with Sora, I’m so glad I got to experience this event in gaming, from the bottom of I think all of our hearts Sakurai thank you
The fighter reveals for Smash Ultimate are easily one of the greatest experiences in video game history and Sakurai should be more than applauded for his excellent work on the series
The Sora reveal easily hit me hardest since Kingdom Hearts is my favorite series, but the reveals for Joker, Sephiroth, Kazuya, Byleth, Pyra / Mythra, and Steve also hold a special place for me

what an insane wild ride this has been. Years ago, if anybody had said there'd be a game with Street Fighter, Tekken, MegaMan, Final Fantasy, etc all fighting it out, you would've called them crazy. This is a giant monument to video games, thank you Sakurai!

I like that the final trailer was nothing but a simple, beautiful celebration of how far the series has come to include the character literally everybody thought to be impossible, and yet here we are. Ultimate really managed to pull out all the stops and bring a long list of characters even the director of the game thought could never possibly work in the series into one big collaboration of gaming.

Diddy, DK and K Rool reacting to Banjo & Kazooie being added will always be the funniest thing in a trailer I've seen
But then we got Mario being almost killed by Sephiroth but instead being held up by the overall strap and then being thrown off during his fight with Cloud
Kazuya dropping Kirby off the cliff might be one of the funniest things to ever happen in a trailer.
When the is tagline 'Sora is Finally Here!' , I realised that no other character could have ended the Fighters pass better than Sora. Thank you Sakurai.

Watching all of these trailers again makes me feel like I'm experiencing them again for the first time. Like I know every single one of these fighters is in the game but I still get so excited about it when each one is revealed. There's only one game in the world that can do that to people after all its years of production.
My top 5 reveal trailers goes:
5. Min Min - I'm a pretty big fan of ARMS and Min Min was probably my most played character. This was a very fun way to start off the second Fighters Pass!
4. Steve - It's fucking Steve. What else do I need to say? Minecraft has been a part of my life for a long time, so when I saw that he was going to be in Smash, I freaked out!
3. Kazuya - Tekken was my first ever fighting game and although Kazuya wasn't my main (Jin and Yoshimitsu were), I'm so damn happy Tekken got a rep!
2. Sephiroth - My God, this was THE most unexpected character. My all time favorite video game villain coming from my second favorite video game franchise! Everything about this trailer was epic, from the way Sephiroth descended into the battle just to torment poor Cloud some more, to the many Advent Children references in the cinematics!
1. Sora - Never have I ever felt much emotion towards a video game until this reveal. Kingdom Hearts is by far my most beloved video game franchise of all time and I've been wanting this character since Brawl. Everything about this trailer was just... So damn beautiful!

5 - Joker: I haven’t played persona 5, but I’d heard a ton about it, I’d seen it’s popping style, I’ve heard people wanting joker in. Additionally, his reveal trailer was sick.
4 - Piranha Plant: Come *ON* you can’t deny it was hilarious to see + Banjo-Kazooie: ITS THE BOY!!! Seeing him portrayed SO perfectly was amazing, and reusing the environment from K.Rools trailer was just perfect.
3 - Sephiroth: Very unexpected, very awesome. Also he stabs Mario.
2 - Sora: I haven’t played any Kingdom Hearts games, but they NAILED Sora’s reveal. Everything about Sora’s reveal. The music, the timing, the scenes, it was beautiful to see. Seeing SO MANY people so happy about Sora was so nice to see.
1 - Steve: I don’t think it’s possible for me to recapture my sheer joy seeing the Minecraft effects and hearing the Minecraft sounds. I genuinely cannot properly express the simple euphoria I felt seeing it transition into the minecraft world. GOD, I wish I could’ve seen the look on my face. Minecraft Steve. In Super Smash Brothers! This is actually just one big fever dream isn’t it

Sephiroth's got me hyped, but Sora's gave me chills and I legitimately started crying

And then there was me, crying not for sora but because they wasted an occasion to add the character that would make the people happier than ever, or maybe the characters, they could've made a plot twist where they add more characters instead of a simple one (That personally I hate), but well... Piranha plant and Min min. They really like to enrage the community sometimes.

Also, ending with Sora is actually the best idea, having the hero travelling and saving worlds with a key-shaped sword, connecting everything. Also Sora was also a fan favorite, it made a lot of people happy, even scrolling through the comments of this compilation, a lot of people are talking about Sora, which means he had a lot of impact to the gaming community. We were happy to see him.
If you want to go on adding Waluigi - Don't get me wrong, I love this guy, but Waluigi was never an important character (To be fair, neither was Piranha Plant). He was mainly in Spin-Off Games to have a partner for Wario, and while I absolutely mained him in a lot of those spin-offs, they never included him in the Main Games. So of course he wouldn't be in Smash.
I mean, let us be honest here for a second: What do we know of him except that he likes to play along and maybe is a friend of Wario?
(If he was in a main-game, please name me the game, I would actually be very happy to be corrected here xD)
With Sora, SU now truly feels like the quintessential celebration of gaming.

Cause there are actually a lot of characters not in ultimate, particularly indies and really obscure titles, playstation and valve owned, from greedy companies like EA and Activision, some franchises with little to none representation in japan (like mortal kombat) or outside of japan (insert exclusive japanese game here) and pretty much the entire mobile games industry (dragalia lost and angry birds)
Now to be clear, despite the game lacking some characters, it is and will always be the quintessential gaming crossover EVEN IF A FUTURE GAME SURPASS IT (which i doubt it will ever happen) because if it happens then it's because Ultimate allowed it to happen since it did it first

And I was right, two of them are from Activision (a greedy company that Microsoft bought AFTER smash ultimate ended so there was nothing to do) and the other one belongs to Ubisoft, which is just as bad as bethesda was (before it was bought by Microsoft) and also greedy

Steve's and Sora's reveals were the best for me, i went insane when steve was revealed cause I thought he was never gonna make it since he is a cube shaped character lol, and sora also blew me away, on how they finally managed to get him into the game
It's amazing seeing Mario (The first fighter in Super Smash Bros. 64) shake hands with Sora (The last fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate).
Absolutely amazing. Though I think Krool and Banjo were my favorites, Sora is very close. The final reveal was cinematic perfection. The music and the incredible tension leading up to Mario picking up the Keyblade. Still tear up when Simple and Clean drops. Just fantastic. What an amazing game

@@jaidens.g.1920 Including the fact that super mario and pokemon have the same amount even though they are more popular games. The reason for this is because no nintendo games feature too many prevalent sword fighter characters so they had to use more characters from fire emblem. Don’t know why they used byleth though
The sephiroth one was the most hype in my opinion
While they’re not necessarily my favorite characters, I still think the Simon/Richter trailer was the best. The animation is top notch, the idea of having Luigi explore the castle with actual non-cartoony horrors was inspired, and immediately following the announcement of echo fighters as a concept, it was cool to see it implemented in a brand new franchise rep.
I really miss these character reveals! They always used to be the biggest highlight of any Direct for me!

Its crazy to think that Sora was foreshadowed since the first Ultimate teaser. Even Lifelight hinted the outcome of the final trailer, aside of from World of Light.

Sephiroth's trailer was easily the best, not only is the animation great, but one it just gives me goosebumps to this day, also I'm biased because they showed Banjo and Kazooie on that 3D full glory and I'll always appreciate that (Also Rimon & Richter because seeing Death take away Luigi's soul is just so funny, and I'm just so glad they gave this much love to Castlevania)

There are 4 that blew me away, and one of them still makes emotional to this day. Joker Banjo and Sephiroth all got me hyped since they're cool character who I was hoping for, or in Joker's case came out of left field when I was already interested in the series. And then Sora's trailer dropped, and I still get teary eyed seeing it. I played Kingdom Hearts 2 on the PS2 when I was super young, and I never beat it until recently the series has always held such a special place in my heart, and seeing Sora in Smash genuinely made me cry the First Time. Thank you Sakurai!
Nothing will ever be as jarring to me as seeing Ganondorf's lifeless body being what opens Kazuya's reveal.
I know this might just be me, but before this game I never thought King K Rool would ever return. On that day he was announced I was left in utter shock. I mean he hadn't been in a game since Mario Super Sluggers, so he wasn't in an actual game for a decade until that direct. He was my most requested character and I got him.
All the other fighters were also amazing, I hope Sakurai gets a long well deserved vacation.
The experience of Sephiroth and Sora’s trailers will never be replicated. They are insanely magical moments, especially Sora’s and using the KH1 song from the KH1 opening trailer and then seeing Sora and Mario shaking hands with the whole roster behind them was EVERYTHING!!!

One of the most incredible journeys of any video game ever created period. So many of the characters reveals broke the internet. Like Steve, Sephiroth, Banjo, Joker, Sora, and King K Rool. I don't think we'll ever get a video game that celebrates video game characters like this ever again. At least not to this capacity or extent. Super Smash Bros Ultimate will always go down as one of my favorite video games I've ever had the honor of playing and experiencing. Thank you so much Sakuari!
Inkling and Sora are my favorites! From the beginning to the end it's been quite a ride since 2018 to 2021 and thanks to Sakurai for the great memories along the way!
It gave me nostalgia after all the reveals I was so hyped for SSBU cuz of my friend who immediately showed me in high school of 2018. And 3 years later I was still hyped to see who would join in SSBU like Steve, Joker, Banjo and Kazooie and even Sephiroth that last made me more emotional because of a good friend of mine who always wanted him in there and he got it. And a great content creator Erika. I will never forget the moment that Sakurai gave us the Impossible and made it happen

I've never been more hype during a game's time. I remember back when Mega Man got announced for Smash 4, that was the first one that had my FULL attention. Ever since that E3 that they revealed Smash for wii u and 3ds, it was full steam ahead. Getting excited with my friends, theorizing about who's getting in next, watching the directs anxiously awaiting the next smash character announcement, these are all moments i'll never forget. These are moments I'm gonna look back on so fondly years from now.
