Our experience running the 35" Maxxis Roxxzillas on our 2020 KRX. The RoxxZillas work great! We tested the tires at Uwharrie National Forest in North Carolina. The footage is broken up between a lot of cameras, but we wanted plenty of angles for everyone to see the tires in action.
Yep they are amazing! more than worth the slight dip in power, I installed them on our KRX and took it to Moab and ran several of the same trails we had on the stock tires and you are correct it is almost like cheating, gives you a sense confidence that you can go anywhere!
Looks like a great place to wheel. Thanks for the review. Just like with any machine, bigger tires will kill the power. I agree with you, the trade off is worth it. In the rough, you will go faster with the big tires. You need to give fully disconnected sway bars a try. In the video you can see that you are three wheeling quite often. You will have even a bigger smile on your face. With your shock setup you will be fine on the flat cornering. The KRX suspension design runs great without the sway bars.
We have ran without sway bars before, but didn't like the way it cornered at high speed, just a little too "rolly" for our taste. It does help articulation though!
Awesome thanks. I have a yxz now, and it’s a little high strung for the riding I do as well. I have had great luck out of it, considering it has right at 8000 miles on it. I live in north west Arkansas, about five miles from Mill Creek and I do mostly trails, rock and everything in between. Just wanting to pick your brain about the krx. Thanks Clay Stephens.
Pick away !
Forgot to add I'm loving the Warp 9 seat rails and Spike flares I got from Right Coast. Sure makes cleanup a tad easier.
Looks good let’s see more vids
Working on it for sure!
Very nice. Tires make all the difference...we experiment with a lot of them out here in the sand.
What do you guys prefer?
@@rightcoastoffroad Maxxis Bighorn’s at 8-10 psi
@@DUNEATV they are a great tire. I wish they made them in an 8 ply in a 30-32". My next trail tire may be a 32 ITP terrahook since its so similar to the bighorn.
@@rightcoastoffroad The bighorn works just as good in the sand as paddles on a UTV in 4x4. Then if the terrain changes to dirt your good to go!
Any mods to the clutch to accommodate the 35s?
What pound air pressure do you run? I’ve got the 35 RockZillas on my KRX. Bought them in July. Cant say enough good things about them.
We stayed at 10 front and 11 rear. I know we could have went lower, but I think any lower would really effect handling.
Where did you get your vinyl at? That machine looks great!
Its a cheap graphic kit from rockymountainatvmc.com. I got it in the matte finish.
What’s your opinion of the krx? Really interested in this machine for my next ride. Suspension, power, and overall reliability?
So far we love ours, haven't had any problems at all. Suspension is second to none. Power is mediocre at best, so we recommend our weights and a flash at a minimum.
I’ve had mine for a year, it’s not a race car, but for the type of riding I do. It doesn’t need to be. I do a lot of hill climbing, trail riding. rock crawling. I’ve been really happy with it. I’ve got 35 in RockZillas on mine. There been on there since July. Again for the type of riding I do. The 35’s are not an issue
What have you done to the suspension to accommodate the 35” tires? Im giving a Krx and a talon a lot of thought...
A KRX will fit 35s bone stock with stock suspension. We have our custom tender springs that will be available soon, but stock suspension clears 35s just fine.
@@rightcoastoffroad thank you! Great video by the way.
Thanks man!
Can you tell me what that damn rubbing noise is that starts at 3:27 and continues every time the KRX compresses the back suspension to go over something? Mine does the same thing. I didn't notice it until it was a couple months old. Stock Carnivores. I see no indication of anything rubbing. Thanks
How ruff are 35” on your suspension with the added weight? Break parts more often?
Front drive shafts and front Differentials are more prone to break with the 35s.
How are you liking the new windshield?
Love it so far! The real test will be when it warms back up and we get to see how the vents work. Super easy install though.
What did I miss about the springs......painted the Bandits or put factory back on?
OEM lowers and custom uppers. The bandits are great, but these are a tender spring only kit we have been testing.
@@rightcoastoffroad Looking forward to your review on the tender only kit
What is your website looking to get weights added to the clutch before I put those tires on. Any advice on doing that I’ve never done it. Thanks
Www.rightcoastoffroad.com
How do the roxxzillas handle at more high speed riding in a wide open area? Still flick around well like with the carnivores?
The 35s don't, too much sidewall. You can bump the pressure up and fix it but I'm not a fan to be honest with that much pressure.
Looks like brushy with those rocks
Uwharrie! Close though
Any updates on the custom tender springs?
They are being made now, just waiting to get them from the manufacturer.
I am looking at the maxxis roxxzillas are the competition same as the sticky
Yes
@@rightcoastoffroad ok thanks
Sounds like a lot of rubbing…. To truly run 35s on a KRX you need some forward arms.
They didn't rub at all.....
